Title: Pain - again!
Post by: Tom on July 11, 2002, 15:44:52
Have you tried sending energy to the area where you usually experience pain while not in trance? It is possible that the increased concentration and awareness you experience in trance is magnifying the pain and discomfort. If you can direct energy into it often and lightly while in normal consciousness you might have more luck with it.

Another idea - Have you tried directing  ALL your focus to another area of your body?

try going to the bathroom before meditating. whenever i drink a lot of liquid before going to bed i wake up in the middle of the night with a strong pain in my heart, but when i go to the bathroom the pain goes away.

it also might be some sort of illness that is causing the pain. when i meditate, i know that i become even more accutely aware of my body and its problems than when i am not meditating. try cleansing your body; this might get rid of the problem.

I had a pain appear while in trance once and i was able to get rid of it by brushing it back and forth. However yours sounds like a deeper karmic type of thing and some other healing technique like accupuncture, reiki, past life therapy ect.
Milkman? i thought they dissapeared in the mid sixties?

Hi Tom,  I did do some NEW exercises on my stomach the other day, but thanks for reminding me that this is something I can do daily to try and heal whatever it is.

Hi Patty,  the thing is, when I am meditating at that deep level there is no focus.  I just was observing the pain and trying to keep a blank state of mind.

Hi Kakkarot,  I already learnt that lesson, and not to have a snack before meditating or I cant get passed that either.  I obviously do have something that is upsetting my stomach but I didnt expect it would be serious enough to interfer with meditation.  I'm sure a cleanse would take care of a lot of things.

Hi Ralphm,  as I was just observing it didn't occur to me to use any stirring/brushing movements.  Milkmen, yes, this is the UK and we are years behind everyone else.  Still, I could buy my milk from the supermarket but he would go out of business if we all did that.

The point is, it's not just this incident with my stomach.  I get pain for every little thing.  Last time I dug a hole in the garden for a post, when I meditated I had terrible pain in my right arm.  Does anyone else get pain directly related to a physical ailment, I mean something insignificant?  Or am I just too sensitive?

A couple of times I went through intervals when my right arm hurt in a specific place. There was no reason for it or explanation I could think of. It got to the point where I thought my arm might break. At that point it seemed like a good idea to deal with it. With my actual physical hand and some visualization, I made brushing motions over the affected area like a broom sweeping away dirt. The dirt represented whatever energy blockages there were in the arm causing that pain. It took a couple of attempts, but it did go away. When it came back, I was able to repeat the procedure sooner and it worked more quickly.

I know we have posted on this before, but I really would like some answers as to the connection between a physical ailment and pain experienced during meditation/trying for an OBE.  Today I had the time to sit down and meditate, went very deep, started to get vibrations which were then blocked by pressure in my stomache.  I then experienced quite severe pain in my stomache and on the side of my navel.  I held on to the trance state hoping it would clear but I continued to feel this pain, and movement around my stomache area, I felt sick, I started to worry that I was starting some appendicitus or something.  I felt rushes of adrenalin but then realised this sensation came from my heart chakra.  I eventually gave up my meditations - actually the milkman rang the doorbell!  And the pain was gone in a few minutes.

The thing is, I have been having stomache pains on and off all week.  So why does it present itself during trance and so strongly?  I think that maybe it's not possible to have an OBE when you have anything wrong with your physical body at all?  Perhaps, as the energy body generates itself, it picks up on physical pain?  Maybe some healing takes place?
