Title: High Pitch Ringing?
Post by: Earthbound_Starman on June 03, 2010, 21:59:38
When i meditate, my ears get this really high pitch ringing sound. So I was searching up ringing in ears, and as soon asthe thought of it went through my head, my ears started ringing. They are ringing right now as i am typing this..

Robert Bruce said its possibly from an entity trying to get contact with you; speaking to you. And that it could be a form of clareaudience..tuning in with the astral..usually high pitched sounds are from particularly nasty entities... there is so many..well whatever, not scared. I asked in my mind for more clarity, but get no answers lol. Still ringing, been a while now..hmm or could just damage in my ears, i have been listening to loud music recently..

what do i do?  what is it?

edit: I just tried focusing my mind on the sound, i can make it ring a little higher, the tones actually change, and it seems i can hear several diffierent tones at the same time; even had a few short ruttles or crackles in my left ear, but i'm not sure if it might be a physical thing..

I think it might be Tinnitus.  And it's probably more obvious when you are meditating

Tinnitus is hearing ringing, buzzing, or other sounds without an external cause. Patients may experience tinnitus in one or both ears or in the head.

I was going to link you , but thought you might want to investigate it yourself.  Hope this helps.  :-)

Yup, first... rule out any physical ailments.
Go see a doctor and tell him you hear ringing.

IF those tests come out clean... then start pursuing more esoteric reasons.  :)

No i have the same problem and i have never had titinus then one day the night before my first projection this appeared in my ear. i can turn it off and on make it louder or weaker and i dont want it to go away this is the best thing that happened in my progress to astral project when ever i want to project i focus on the ringing and just before i project its that loud that i cant hear anything ele and it throbs in tune with the pulsing vibratings then when it goes pop i am out my body and the ringing stops

its a good thing mate you should use it i have nt a clue what it is but i been checked out at docs and mines not titnus but it works magic for me.

It's just a safe thing to do.
I mean, we might be spiritual beings having a physical existence... but these bodies we're using ARE physical and can have issues.
And as much as I hate doctors, the physical body is their domain.

Earthbound,

Just a question.  Or, actually a few....

1.  Are you actually hearing the sound in your ear(s), or is it more toward the center of your head?- does it fluctuate?..
2.  If I asked if you were more 'aware of it' or 'hearing it' what would you say?- I understand it may be a combination, but in which way does it lean..
3.  Does the sound remain constant and the same, or does it move around a bit?- in location, pitch, depth, quality, etc..
4.  Are there sometimes also tones?  A musical quality?  Is there dimension and depth or is what you hear quite monotonous..

My range of vision and hearing began dramatically changing a couple years ago.  Vision first, then hearing.  I can distinguish between many phenomena, including tinnitus, the sound of the blood flowing through the veins, the Nada sound (the sound of Creation)..  All of which, in my view are simply phases which can and ultimately do culminate into the hearing of the Nada sound.  I do not feel things are either Spiritual or physical, but rather that everything Spiritual, simultaneously has it's array of physical equivalents.  It is a simple shift in focus that takes one from tinnitus into the Nad..  In fact, any sound at all may be followed in to its source.  Into Sound Itself.

1. I definately feel it in the ears, but i can't help but think i feel it in my head as well..

2. I'd say ears..

3. It remains constant, if i just let it be, it would just be one pitch. If i close my eyes and focus on it, i'll hear it get louder, faster and more distinct. There is a softer tone in the background, i think i hear three different pitches.

4. No, don't think so.

as soon as started reading this page, my ears started ringing again.. weird. I'll play around with it, next time i meditate.

Yes, familiarizing yourself with it a bit more should be productive.  I look forward to hearing any new discoveries.

tinnitus is a word that people use for both a disorder and the normal ringing that everyone hears.

It's a good word, a pretty word, don't you think PR?  :-D

A nice word that wouldn't cause someone to get themselves all worked up about because they think some particular nasty being is attached to them.......... right?  :-)

Usually when I project i hear ringing in my ears.  For me its part of the vibrations. I dont always get the ringing but when i do i focus on it and try to make it louder and higher pitched.  It gets to the point where it is almost unbearable and then I pop out of my body.  Once I pop out i dont hear the ringing anymore.

I dont think you have tinnitus.  I say you go with it, try to make the ringing loud and high pitched and then will yourself out of body.  Good luck

Yea, I use the ringing sound as a focusing device when I project.

It was actually a method put forth by Robert Peterson.  It was what I used to achieve my first conscious exit and first AP.

i have it too. IIRC bob monroe, in his first book, stated that after listening to one on his first binaural recordings he had a bad stomach cramp, then intermittent ringing in his ear(s). now, the exact symptoms happened to me after listening to hemi-sync for the first time. i've had a lot of abdominal pain for the last 12 years, and it has, at times, been as painful as that day, and worse, so it could have been a coincidence, but i found the nature of the cramping -and the timing- very suspicious. the ringing in my left ear was also suspect -as it started within days of listening to hemi-sync.

obviously, these coincidences really bother me because it means there's a possibility that my mind -which i've always considered impervious to unsolicited suggestion- isn't as bulletproof as i thought. however, there's an equal chance that those things were caused by listening to hemi-sync. i don't know for sure, but because of this, and other similar events, i search my memory to see if i've ever read, or thought of, a similar situation after i have any new kinds of experiences.

these coincidences also cause me apprehension in posting about them -for fear of being viewed as a liar. in a thread on another board, CFT wondered if a kundalini awakening was on the horizon for her because she had a dream about snakes, and one of them had a larger-than-normal-sized head. now, i also had a dream of a large boa-constrictor with a larger-than-normal-sized head, sometime before my KA. i found it so odd to be stared in the eyes by a big a** snake only a foot or two away, that i told my mom about it the next day. in this case i had my dream and subsequent experience before i had read about her's. but how do you post about that sort of thing without being viewed as a bullsh*tter...? well, for that very reason i did not post.

i'm sorry to sway this thread so badly, but these thoughts have been on my mind and my comment gave me an opening to express them :P

back on point, i also use the ringing as something to concentrate on while meditating or attempting AP.

There is a relationship with the sound and the kundalini so you are not so off track.  For me it wasn't a snake but a huge, clear, watery eel like thing thing that I was trying to prevent from getting in  :-o.  Ha!, no go....  Now and again I will hear ringing, tones and other such things in my ears, but for me, for the most part it is a sound (not a ringing) that emanates from the center of my head.  If I can hear it, which is most of the time, I can feel it as a vibration through my whole body.

Well, i'm pretty sure its not tinnitus, as my ears don't ring regularly, and i haven't been noticing any ringing recently. Still haven't seen a doctor.

A few days ago, i was meditating after i had some weed (yeah i know it don't work that well), and the ringing came again, and it was incredibly loud and high pitch. The sound was so overpowering, it made it quite hard to hear my friends talking. I didn't focus on it, cause it was just so loud, but than that could be the affects of the weed as well.

Tinnitus doesn't have to be a "constant" ringing.
Generally, in a lot of people, it'll come and go randomly.
I get it from time to time... it's nothing serious, and I don't usually give it a second thought, since it goes away after a few seconds.
I have my own theories as to what *mine* is, but meh.  I'll share later.  :)

I've never had it checked out before, because it doesn't happen enough for it to be cause my any worry.

The sound you heard probably would have happened just the same had you not smoked up first.
What would happen if you tried to actually focus on it?

Yeah could be

I meditated in bed last night, the thought of listening to the ringing, made the sound appear faintly ( i don't know why it does, but its ringing right now lol). Than i started to focus on it, it gets a little louder, and at one point i felt it like connect in my head for a moment, than it went back to normal. Theres definately, different ringing sounds.

i mentioned this earlier, but tinnitus is usually associated with a disorder that can be quite disruptive in extreme cases.  like xanth said, everyone gets it from time to time loud enough to hear over your normal daily activities.

however, what i think people seem to overlook is that everyone has ringing all the time it's just usually so subdued that you don't notice it.  the ringing is usually very very quiet and can really only be heard when you quiet yourself and listen for it.  even then you're more likely to hear what sounds like white noise or the "ocean" sound you hear in a sea shell over the ringing.  but they're both there all the time.  if you just stop and listen you'll hear it.  unless it is a disturbance to normal activities then it's nothing to concern yourself with.

I think I have more or less the same thing..
I'll try to explain it as best i can.

To me it sounds almost like the vibration of a particular room itself, like all the sounds that where ever made in that room are still bouncing around and have become so entwined in eachother the they have become a single pitch/frequency made up of all these sounds, but you don't hear it in your ears, its more so in your head. sounds like the very resonation of the empyness of a room.
