Yes... the first two sounds like a slightly altered transcript of my method I wrote down and posted online 6 years ago. It works.

I'm glancing through these. They're the usual self-deception methods. Stuff that only works if you can already project anyway.

They're physical disassociation methods.  They teach you to turn your awareness away from the physical (to disassociate from it).

Not at all.  One doesn't need to already know how to project to use these.  They do require a bit more effort though, that much is true.

That didn't address either point that I made. You feeling okay?

It looks like a list of techniques that have been around for a while.  The neat thing is they are all in one place and organized.  This is a good resource.  I have been wanting a list like that, so I can direct my viewers to it when they ask questions.  I can also use it as source material for some of the stuff I will write up in the future.

I recently found out my mom who is 77 yrs. old, has been doing technique #14, creative visualization, pretty much every night for about a year.  She knows nothing about AP and doesn't associate what she's doing with that at all.  Sometimes I tell her about my OOB journeys and she listens but thinks I'm crazy.  When I found out she was doing this I told her that she was actually doing the same thing as me, and she was a little put out with me because she doesn't want to be crazy too. lol!

This is what she does.  She lies down and has trouble falling asleep (typical for older women) so she visualizes the perfect life for herself. She imagines herself young and beautiful with a perfect husband, perfect rewarding job, beautiful house. etc.  She imagines and creates this perfect life down to the very last detail.  From a conscious state her imagination comes to life in a dream. She has none of the normal signposts like paralysis, roaring noise etc.  She just slips right into the dream exactly the way she imagines it. She controls much of the dream and some parts of it just play out.  It never plays out in a random, strange way that normal dreams often do.  The details are so phenomenal that it is like she is actually living this whole other life every night.  She controls/changes any detail she wants with a thought. (such as redecorating the house in hundreds of different ways. Lol.)  When I told her that there are other really awesome things she could be doing like flying, & visiting other planets and such, she said "Oh no!  I would never want to do anything like that." Lol.  She is the most unadventurous person I know, she's highly tied to the physical, and she's absolutely delighted to be doing exactly what she's doing and nothing else.

So do you think that this is a gift/talent situation?  She can do this whenever she wants and doesn't work at it at all--just happens.  Or is this method common for many APers?

I had the thought that one reason this works so well for her is that her intent is sooo strong.  She feels she missed out on having a good life on earth and just craves this 'other' life that she created for herself.  Might be something for people to think about when they are struggling to AP.  What do you really love to do that you could just get lost in imagining the details of it?

Your mum has it all worked out. It's natural for her and perhaps you too. After all you are here. :wink:

Does anybody have a more detailed description of technique#2? - It looks pretty easy to practice.
