Post by: astral flyer on February 26, 2018, 03:20:16
Or who i should say. He said in his books he would have to come back once more. Is he here? Anyone ever wonder the same? Or know?

It's been a while but I believe Bob's "Higher Self" told him there were other units of itself already in existence while Bob was alive, I remember something about it telling him if he was to meet one it would be like meeting a distant relative.

I'm, personally, not a big fan of a lot of Monroe's concepts anymore.
In the grand scheme of things, I don't feel that they seem very logical to me any longer.

As I've read Monroe's books (all three) a few times and took notes, later it turned out that he was misled by his own beliefs a few times. I'm not saying he was wrong in many things but he misinterpreted some stuffs. Like linear time vs parallel worlds. That year 3000 on Earth could be another "Earth" which is already existing and his other self there from the primary essence. All realities and lives played out the same time so he was only "Mr. Monroe" in this world. I can't recall where I saw this info a few years back but it could be, he is continuing his work in the NP since he is gone. But if we take time out of the equation, he will exist here forever as a post-character as all of us.

Just when you think you know everything there is to about the way it "really" is, everything changes. As long as you are open to those changes, you continue to evolve. Otherwise it becomes the next wall that stands in front of you blocking the way.

I don't think you're funny. It's a matter of taste.

Seemed like a statement of fact, to me.

Indeed. In contemplating the possible, it doesn't hurt to remember the known!

If you can't laugh at the death of a man who would laugh at his own death...

Disagree.

wiktionary: sleep with the fishes

(idiomatic) To be killed and have one's body disposed of in the sea or other body of water.

Usage notes:
  • Probably the earliest usage of a similar phrase occurs in the epic Greek poem, The Iliad by Homer. In Book 21, Achilles slays Lykaon, a son of Priam, and throws him in a river. Achilles taunts him as he dies, saying "Lie there now among the fish..." (Lattimore translation) or, "Make your bed with the fishes now..." (Fagles translation). In other words, sleep with the fishes.
  • A similar usage can also be found in Herman Melville's Moby willy, wherein the second mate Stubb soliloquizes: "when Aquarius, or the Water-bearer, pours out his whole deluge and drowns us; and to wind up with Pisces, or the Fishes, we sleep." (Melville, Moby willy, ch. 94).

That wasn't about laughing at death. It was a negligent remark about a man who had a special contribution in his field, and whose memory deserves respect.

You forgot the "Mafioso" use of the term too.  :-D https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-IDrOdvgg4

Well said baro-san,

Excellently expressed and pointed...

In its’ own interesting manner, the Pulse language filter offers its’ unique (AI) opinion with regard to Melville’s opus work, Moby (penile structure)...lol. Great book...taught me all I need to know about whaling... and also a masterful, almost musical construct of language; one of the great books that should be read.

It means to be dead.  Don't be so literal people.  Wow...
