Title: Illness is spiritual awakening
Post by: bungalow on November 02, 2019, 21:47:11
A spiritual awakening when someone goes, "What, the crap... I am alone." Now, there are a couple of options here to the clever mind. "I can behave," or "I can move on to better things." Actually, the case is that the clever mind is wrong this time. The only natural (healthy) choice is to accept "I would know," like that is ordinary - it is. People whose illness have taken the fork are referred to by A Course in Miracles as bearing "ego spit mind." Not rational. To undo this damage you must return the loop to truth, like a snake eating its tail. Everybody does this the second time; no-one makes the right choice the first.

I have described apathy.

Managing illness in the mean time, two strategies, left and right handed:
1. do without what you know you want, unless you truly want it
2. when and where you are satisfied, self satisfy

It is better to take the right OR left, rather than BOTH - for the middle path is in fact treading water as though both were happening. Not really.

MENTAL illness is a curious case of: "Did I, or did I not think that?"

It's true. A mental illness has thought wrong and found itself blushing. Pure thoughts happen, insanity doesn't. The chances are, something isn't happening, that you once did do. What was the thought of that, and was that thought positive? Negative thinking plays to the wrong God (Satan) - you can and do get disharmony that way. For a very long while, if you just do nothing.
