Hi,

I will give it a try, thanks.  Right now my conscious exit attempts only succeed about 1 time in 10 and I would love to "get out" more.  Thanks again for the idea.  :)

Thanks for your replies, hope this method helps you...

My father once told me while teaching:
"Every guitar player holds the instrument different..."

Same rules apply to the astral projection i think. The important thing is to remember the feeling...

When you are in astral or OBE your senses are different than the real world senses. My point is to remember those senses and to concentrate on them... So the seperating will be triggered... Many people are using CD's or Bwgen to get to the astral projection state. But the experienced projectors dont need these tools. Because they just know what they will feel.

The triangle method makes you remember the astral body senses and triggers the vibrations...

Your subconcious waits until your conciousness to fade away. Then the seperation process begins. The key point is to concentrate on the astral senses and trigger the subconcious to start the seperation process...

While concentrating the triangle dont talk, dont think, just be a passive observer. Just like when you hear an unexpected sound and you quietly listen to it.

When the vibrations start dont panic! or you will spoit it! If you can hold on to the vibrations for about 15 - 20 seconds you can find your self in your room...

If you want to project to somewhere like Astral Pulse Island; Then follow these instructions:

Hold on to the vibrations for 15 - 20 seconds and when you feel like you are seperated. Visualize yourself flying over the ocean. In the distance the island will appear and get closer...

While you are there look for me too... :)

One more tip:

If you cant hear anything with your astral ears, try the following:

Close your eyes. Put the palms of your hands to both of your ears and listen carefully. Soon you will hear a high pitched sound like "ssssss". Concentrate on it. While concentrating on the sound feel your third eye. Feel yourself in the triangle...

You will feel disoriented in seconds.

The five astral senses are:

Clairaudiance (astral hearing), Psychometry (astral touch/feeling), Clairvoyance (astral sight), Imagination (astral equivalent of taste), and Emotional Idealism (astral equivalent of smell).

Hey Birm, your triangle method seems interesting and I just had a few questions before I try it:

To focus the attention on both of the ears and third eye, are you trying to imagine and hear that high-pitched "ringing" sound that sometimes occurs in the ears, while at the same time simply focusing your visual point of focus at your third eye in the blackness of the closed eyelids?

If not, what would you try to do with the third eye in order to focus on that too?

Hi There,
The main idea is to focus on your astral senses as i mentioned before...
In order to project you have to study both theory and practice at the same time.

So my theory is as follows : Focusing on the astral senses while staying concious moves your conciousness to your astral couple. If you can focus on your astral body enough the seperation process happens automatically.

To practice this theory; i laid down to my bed and started projecting. I tried to understand my senses while projecting. I was hearing the ringing sound, i was seeing with my third eye.

So i decided to try to feel my astral body while i am wide awake. As i was experimenting this, i didnt close my eyes. I looked straight at a point on the wall and tried to visualize things. I could successfully visualize. So i decided to try the hearing sensation. But from wide awake you just cant hear with your astral ears as the physical sounds distract your attention. So i closed my ears with my palms for a while and i realized the ringing sound in my ears.

So i decided to focus on my astral senses from wide awake state. I focused on my third eye, focused on my astral ears and i just felt disoriented and dizzy. I felt like i was in my physical body but i was controlling my astral couple. It is a very confusing feeling to have two bodies and two seperate body senses at the same time.

So i came to a conclusion that as we project; our physical senses goes to minimum and astral senses are at maximum rate. And when we are awake our astral senses are at minimum and physical are at maximum rate.

The triangle method is based upon this theory. Focusing on your astral senses and waiting... Thats all.

quote:

To focus the attention on both of the ears and third eye, are you trying to imagine and hear that high-pitched "ringing" sound that sometimes occurs in the ears, while at the same time simply focusing your visual point of focus at your third eye in the blackness of the closed eyelids?

Well Graupel i am not trying to imagine anything. The ringing sound is always there but we actually dont hear it as we are focused on our physical bodies. When you wake up in the morning you can find the ringing sound in your ears. Or you can hear it when you are in trance... To use the triangle method your body has to be relaxed first. As you relax you can concentrate on your breathing. While relaxing you can feel that your body gets that numb feeling. Wait for the ringing sound appear. As you fall deeper into trance you will start to hear it.

quote:

If not, what would you try to do with the third eye in order to focus on that too?

I am not visualizing anything in front of me or on my third eye. I just try to feel it. Try to feel your physical eyes now. Then try to feel your physical ears. Now try to feel them both. Its like this. You can easily understand that you are doing the right thing. If you do it correctly you will feel yourself floating in the air while feeling the physical body.

I have to tell you that you will start to see images or visions. Just let them come and go away. If you dont you can fall asleep or you may find yourself in a lucid dream. Which is a good sign that shows you are on the right track.

One of my friends told me that using bwgen with the Triangle method works fine, too. He used the Deep Mind IV preset.

You can actually find the "sssssssss" sound by focusing your attention at the top of your head e.g. the portion at the very top that is soft when you're a child. By focus I mean the same focus you use with your "hands" in Robert B's energy exercises.

When you focus at the top of the head and then raise your focus maybe 5 to 12 centimeters (2 to 4 inches I think), you can hear a faint hissing sound. By concentrating on that hissing sound you can make it louder.

This "SSSSSSSsss" sound when focused on for long enough (a few minutes) can cure headaches relatively quickly, and I've used it to soothe various painful areas of my body by moving the "SSSSssss" sound to that point of my body so that I can hear it emanating from there. A natural pain reliever? Donno. All I know is I haven't majorly hurt myself yet but everything up until this point, gout, aches, cuts, bruises, headaches, stomach cramps whatever has been eased for quite a while by moving this thing around. Note also: I don't think it heals anything as the pain eventually comes back, but it pretty much disappears and stays that way for quite a while.

I'm totally off topic.

My point was that you can consciously listen to your astral "ears" by focusing on a point a little ways over the top of your head. Listen for the "snake" Ssssssss sound.

Hope this helps.

Jason.

Zonmezz i thank you kindly for your post and sharing your experience with us.

Could this sound be related to the etheric energy we have?

Title: The triangle method
Post by: Zonmezz on September 02, 2003, 12:51:55
I think it has more to do with the chakra located above your head but I'm not sure. I have no idea what this chakra does so I don't know whether it's etheric energy we're hearing or not. All I know is it works for me for pain relief. When Birm mentioned it could be used for projection, I was like, Cool!

Heh, anyways. Good luck!

Jason.

Hello Birm,

I have a few question regarding your method, could you help me out?

I can feel the disoriented sensation you speak about, and I've tried your method but I'm a little confused on some points.

I hear this SSSS sound all the time, and can make it grow even while awake. I would like to understand better the sequence.

- First you relax, breath awareness.
- Once your body is very relax, numb, you place yourself in the triangle.
- My problem starts there

I can't seem to "stay" there, I very easily lose the spot where I feel this disorientation, sort of a vertigo, inner swaying.
I place my consciousness there, start to feel these things and just can't stay there.
Do I have to concentrate being at that spot, staying there?
Do you at the same time...listen to the sound on top of your head, situate yourself in the triangle, keep aware of the ears and third eye to stay at the right location??
Does this make any sense to you?
Do you put your consciousness, as in one post, 1-2 inches above the center of your head?
In short I'm trying to get a better understanding of your technique to calm my constant questionning on if I'm doing it OK. Calm my wandering, chattering mind and be silent.
Thank you for any help,

This was a PM but i want to answer it here so other people can read it too...

Dear quebec,

You are very successful on moving into an altered state of conciousness as i see from your message. I can say you are almost there but you just dont know "how to feel" and "what to do next"... I will try to clarify the things for you if i can:

quote:

I can't seem to "stay" there, I very easily lose the spot where I feel this disorientation, sort of a vertigo, inner swaying.
I place my consciousness there, start to feel these things and just can't stay there.
Do I have to concentrate being at that spot, staying there?

Well this happens to me sometimes too. That means your body is not fully relaxed. So your physical sensations are keeping you in your physical body. When this happens what i do is trying to move into a deeper state of mind. At this point i stop doing the triangle method and concentrate on my breathing and waiting. I am doing nothing but waiting to get to a deeper state of mind. Visions may come and go at this point. You may even find yourself in a lucid dream. The key points are:

Do not try to feel your physical senses.
Do not try to control the visions.
Do not fall asleep at this point because you are in the borderline of it.

If you are still aware of yourself after getting to a deeper state of mind. Try to feel the triangle again and this time you will be there for a longer time. It depends on practice for sure.

If you want to project into RTZ. Dont look at the visions and concentrate on the triangle. If you want to project into astral plane watch the visions and they will take you to the astral.

quote:

Do you at the same time...listen to the sound on top of your head, situate yourself in the triangle, keep aware of the ears and third eye to stay at the right location??

This is exactly what i was talking about.

quote:

Do you put your consciousness, as in one post, 1-2 inches above the center of your head?

Yes my conciousness stays there above. While i am slowly sucked by the astral world.

quote:

In short I'm trying to get a better understanding of your technique to calm my constant questionning on if I'm doing it OK. Calm my wandering, chattering mind and be silent.

You are doing it excellently i think. Soon you will start to project and i want to see you on Astral Pulse Island soon :))

Hope this helps...

I have just one comment regarding the ringing in the ears. All of my life, I would, out of the blue, here this high pitched ringing sound. Usually it would be in one ear or the other. I could never figure out what it was. And no one in my family ever heard (didn't matter too much, they all always thought I was bit odd anyways!)

I hadn't heard it for many years after high school. But I began yoga last spring. The first week I started it, the ringing started. But it was in both ears and it was constant. I have noticed that over the past year, it has gone up in pitch. It started out sounding just like crickets. But now it has a very high pitched tone to it. If the room is somewhat quiet I can clearly hear it. If I'm in a meeting at work, I can hear it only if I focus on it. Usually the rest of the noises drown it out.

But I do think its related to energy and probably the chakras. At the same time the ringing started, I began feeling energy through my body. I'll feel it pulsing up my spine sometimes. But I always feel a warm 'buzzing' feeling in the back of my head, along with the ringing in my ears. I will occasionally here different tones, not too often though. But I think those are related to different chakras.

Nice technique.  I tried it last night and it worked really well since I got some intense sensations but I stopped because I'm scared of the separation.  I remember trying something similar to this a while ago but it was only paying attention to a low static sound in my ears but I'm not sure if that's the same thing.

Hey, I just had a quick question.. how would you "shift" your consciousness above your head (I believe Monroe was going onto something about that with his ray of light technique in JOB.. which I'm still trying to experiment with).

Do you just imagine your mental hands gripping the crown chakra and feeling it opening upfor all the stuff inside to become active and letting out a hissing sound, and eventually (better if you're in the borderline sleep state first before trying any of this?) the hissing sound will become reality?

So far I've tried using mental hands, but I don't feel anything when I am lying in bed, probably because I am not in enough of a hypnagogic state as the physical sensations of me lying in bed are probably effectively "grounding" me inside my physical body.

To "shift" my consciousness above my head, i am waiting and I am just concentrating on my third eye and my ears. Thats all.

Greetings Graupel,

I think Robert Monroe in his early days suggested focussing a few inches ahead rather than immediately behind the closed eyelids.

This does make some sense as the Astral body iteself extends beyond the physical body by a few inches. Anyone can verify this by relaxing, and then extending your awareness out by a few inches, and the Astral body can be easily detected beyond the physical.

With best regards,

Adrian.

Are you talking about Tinitis (I think I'm spelling it right)? That's a ringing in the ears I have had since I can remember. Someone on this thread posted that she heard "cricket" sounds -- sometimes this sounds like crickets, sometimes it's just a high-pitched tone. Is the sound you are describing the same as this and, if not, how do you hear it above the constant ringing?

Birm, thanks for the quick response! I did have it spelled wrong, it's "Tinnitus". They define it as hearing sounds that aren't present in the external environment -- Well, DUH!!! [:D]

I tried your technique last night and the results were interesting. I did get just a brief moment of that disorientation you mentioned, then fell to sleep. At some point I woke up when I heard a single bark from a dog. I wasn't hearing a "real" bark. We don't have dogs that close, and besides, there was emotion connected with this one. It conveyed freedom and a sense of release, for lack of better words. My sister-in-law has a seriously ill dog and I wondered when I heard it whether her dog had died. I found out this morning she did, some time prior to 11:30 (when I got the email). I don't know whether it was anything but coincidence, but if it was, the dog wasn't upset by what happened.

I fell back asleep and launched into the happiest dream I've had in quite some time. Colors were just vivid and the setting was bright -- lots of people around everywhere.

I don't think this dream was connected with the dog, but I wonder if both of them weren't connected to my use of your "listening" technique?

I really appreciate your insight on this technique. So many of them just don't work for me -- maybe this will be different!

Hi greatoutdoors,

In order to Astral Project you have to move in to an ALTERED STATE OF CONCIOUSNESS.

The purpose of this technique is to concentrate on your astral senses and forget about your physical senses. This way your physical body will fall asleep but your conciousness will stay aware of it.

When your body is asleep and your conciousness is aware of it. You are in an altered state of conciousness.

You can hear real world sounds that you have heard before while using this tecnique. I always hear people talking, animal sounds, sometimes sounds come from the furniture.

When you hear such sounds all you have to do is: Wait. Dont be distracted by the sounds. It is just like seeing images when you close your eyes from a wide awake position. You are concentrating on you astral hearing sensation. But you can close your eyes while you cannot close your ears.

Hope this helps,
.

Hi Birm!

So you're saying the dog bark I heard could have been an indication I was actually getting somewhere?! That would be great! Right now I feel like a door is being slammed in my face every time I get close to a conscious connection to the astral. I've never had a big problem with relaxing my body and keeping the mind active -- until I started trying to do it. Then it's a whole new ball game. But your system seems to offer some real progress so I'm going to hang in there.

Have you used any self-hypnosis tapes or CD's to help you?

A lot of beginners get discouraged because they try to project, and then when "nothing" happens, they feel like they're just wasting their time.

However, GreatOutdoors, you are realizing a very important point.  Every time you practice projecting, and every exercise you do is only bringing you CLOSER to success.  It may not SEEM like it, but you must believe it.

For example, you may lay down and after practicing a few OBE relaxation exercises, you begin to see some cool hypnogogic imagery.  However, if that is all you see, then smile and know that you're getting better and better in developing your technique.  I think too many people would discount the hypnogogic stuff and feel a sense of failure for not feeling vibrations, or separating from their body.

So yes, the dog barking you heard was a good thing.  You may not have had a full blown OBE, but you are making contact with that part of your subconscious which is navigating you to the threshold of having a fully conscious OBE!  Keep it up.

Title: The triangle method
Post by: Adrian on September 29, 2003, 21:31:41
Greetings everyone,

It is also important to note that Astral projection or phasing, as opposed to OBE, does not usually involve vibrations or a sense of separating from the body at all. OBE is normally associated with vibrations etc., followed by an etheric projection into what is known as the "real-time zone" but which is actually an etheric reflection of the physical surroundings. This for example is the subject matter of Robert's book Astral Dynamics.

Astral projection or phasing is very different and much more subtle; it involves a projection of consciousness (as opposed to the projection of an etheric double) beyond the five physical senses to the Astral, at which point there is no sense of the physical body and awareness becomes based firmly in the reality of the Astral. Before phasing is achieved hypnogogic imagery might be seen or even Astral visions in the form of the Astral "cinema screen" or as has been observed Astral noises might be heard. The thing to do here is to focus on the Astral visions or noises and try to consciously move towards them; if you see the Astral screen, then try to move forward and phase straight through it into the scenery which will be the Astral proper. From there you can go anywhere such as Astral Pulse Island.

To reach Astral Pulse Island you ideally need to be focussing on Astral projection or phasing rather than OBE.

With best regards,

Adrian.

Adrian....one thing I've never seen asked before is, "Do you think one could exit the physical body via OBE, and then phase into the astral?"

I bring this up because I believe I may be doing this.  Usually, when I separate from my body, it's in the traditional OBE sense (feeling of a physical separation, somewhat hard to control, etc).  It is also at this point that my vision is usually black.  Some call this 'the void' and use it as a springboard to go anywhere they want.

In this void, which one gets to via an OBE separation, if one were to concentrate on the API and successfully get there, wouldn't that be a perfect case in point of an OBE turned AP?

You see, even though I use phasing techniques to bring me to a projection state, I almost always "roll out" of my body into a dark environment (void), and then project from there.  So it seems like I'm doing the same thing only it's preceeded by a physical separation process.  Does this happen with anyone else?

Birm, Jeff, Adrian,

You guys are giving me excellent advice here and I appreciate it! Birm, I'm continuing to practice your triangle technique and I am getting closer, I think. Jeff, thank you for the encouragement. It is so frustrating when you knowsomething exists and still can't connect! And Adrian, I think you put a name to what happened to me awhile back. I thought it was an OBE, and posted to that effect; but with no vibrations or anything else, I began to wonder just what had happened. I have posted that experience elsewhere so I won't go into detail here, but it was just "Pop", I was behind my body, then when I realized it, "Pop" I was back. I was wide-awake and standing up -- there's no way I was dreaming. That event was totally unexpected and I have gotten nowhere (so far, Jeff) trying to do it again.

By the way, it is very nice to be able to discuss all this with folks who 1) don't think you've totally flipped out; and 2) aren't trying to re-create Saturday morning "space ranger" cartoons! I think I'm older than most of the folks on this forum, but I still get a feeling of acceptance, even from the "sprouts"! [:D] I've only recently found the courage to really start exploring the metaphysical. I hope I'm not too old to learn!

Hey there WannaLearn,

I am not trying to speak on Birm's behalf, but instead, I will answer your questions the way I see them:

quote:

Yes, the technique that Brim mentions is something that everyone can try (beginners and experienced projectors alike).  There is nothing really complicated about it, and the hardest part you'll find is trying to stay focused, because your mind will want to wander to other things.

quote:

2.is the seperating part scary?

That depends on the individual.  For me, I never have scary separations.  However, you may want to read more about "Phasing" in this forum.  When you phase into the astral environment, it's almost like melting right into it.  Imagine yourself being lowered into a pool of water.  Now imagine that you aren't being lowered feet first, but instead, you're being lowered face first.  You just kinda "step into" the astral environment and become a part of it.

However, like I said, I usually just roll out of my body and then explore the astral from there.....and it's ALWAYS an exhilirating, positive experience.

The only thing scary are the things you convince yourself to be scared of.  If you remind yourself that this is going to be fun (just as a rollercoaster is fun [but scary to the observer]), so is projecting into the non-physical realms.

Hi jeff,

Thank you for answering the questions. I agree with your answers but there is one thing i want to add to your comments.

quote:
There is nothing really complicated about it, and the hardest part you'll find is trying to stay focused, because your mind will want to wander to other things.

A wandering mind is not a bad thing in my opinion. Because the wandering mind deepens the trance state automatically. For example when you start seeing images and visions, you may watch them and wander around the images and/or visions for a while. This helps the visions to become clearer. If you focus on your astral hearing sensations the same rules apply. When you hear something just wait and dont do anything about it. Just like listening to the next room in your house. You can hear outside but you cannot do anything about it. Taking your time with the hypnagogic images or sounds pulls you into the astral environment. You may fall asleep when doing this. So i suggest to try when you wake up in the morning. Because at night you are trying not to fall asleep while in the morning your body is relaxed and well rested so you are trying to wake your mind. Trying in the morning is easier.

I also think the hardest part is to stay awake while your physical body falls asleep.

Hope this helps,
.
.

This is what I meant to say, and you corrected it for me.  When I was warning about a wandering mind, I didn't mean to suggest that it was a bad thing.  However, I think it's important that as your mind wanders, you "stay with it" and watch where it takes you, as opposed to losing interest and falling asleep.

Just want to say thanks to Birm for sharing his method. I've been using it all week and when i used it last night i had some sort of success at leaving my body.
It took a while and i had to keep pulling my mind back in line to begin with, but after some time the sound in my ears got louder, my third eye became more active and from there on out i was sailing.
I heard what i've come to describe as a pop that seemed to come from around my neck somewhere, although i didn't feel a thing, and then i was floating about somewhere. I was in complete darkness so i had probably only entered the 3D blackness stage, but it's further than i've ever gone before.
I didn't feel any vibrations either. The only thing close to vibrations was when i reached REM and my eyes began darting around everywhere.
Thanks Birm!

Hey where exactly is the minds eye(third eye)?

The third eye is located between the eyebrows. Although not necessarily directly in that spot. Mine often feels as though it's a bit further up my forehead.

you said you must hear a sounds that goes "sss" i dont seem to hear that what can ido ?!

Well you can hear it if you can focus enough. Here is a very helpful exercise: When you are about to sleep try to listen the outside sounds while your eyes closed. Look behind your closed eyes while listening the sounds outside. Soon you will start to see some images. Dont concentrate on the images just let them come and go, continue concentrating on the outside sounds. Dont think about the outside sounds just hear them. Pretend you are asleep and listen outside. Think: "These sounds are coming from outside while we are asleep." This way your sleeping reflex will be triggered and your physical body will start to relax. At that point you may realize the sound i am talking about.

Another way to hear the sound is staying awake for a long time. Lets suppose you havent slept for 16-20 hours. You are very sleepy. Lay down on your bed and try to listen.

One another way is to be drunk. Yes! When i am drunk i can hear the sound very clearly and loud. But alcohol takes all of your energy to project. So you wont be able to project but you can realize the sound.

Another way is to try listening when you just wake up. Before getting off the bed try to listen to the sound.

Hope this helps,
.
.

Well, it's easier to say how I do it then to tell another how they should do it, since what works for me may not work for you.

For me, using Brim's triangle method as an example, I would focus on the technique in order to bring me to a certain benchmark.  This benchmark is usually when I see three dimensional shapes and images behind my closed eyelids.

When this darkness starts to take shape and depth, then I know that I am close to projecting.  I'm also aware of my body but not focused on it.  I'm more focused now on the images.

With a little mental pushing, I am able to do one of two things:

1) Phase into the black, three dimensional void in front of me, and project to a location from there

2) I thrust my arm out of my body to test if I can project.  If I feel my astral arm moving, then I roll out of my body and project from there.

As a beginner, I would advise you to try and "watch" the images that come and go behind your eyes.  Don't try and think about them.  Just watch them come and go, much as you would watch a foreign TV show.  You may not understand the scenes or images, but you just keep watching and following the story.

The longer you do this, the longer these images hang around before disappearing.  What is happening the entire time is that you're being brought to the very edge of your imagination and the astral.

Anyway, you'll be surprised at how you "naturally" know how to project once you bring yourself to this level of awareness.

Again, it all depends on what works best for you.  I can't stress this enough to beginners.

For example, have you tried both techniques (triangle and breathing)?  Which one did you like the best?  Did you find that you were successfully doing some things with the Triangle Method and not successful doing other things?

What you need to do is try a multitude of techniques, and piece together what works for you based on all of them.  There is no magic technique that works for everyone.  In fact, even the Triangle Method alone will not always work for Brim or myself.  There are times when we have to switch things up and try something else to overcome a block.

As an example....let's say I lay down and try the Triangle Method, but for some reason, I just can't concentrate on astral hearing.  This could be because I listened to music right before laying down and therefore, I'm stuck singing this stupid song in my head over and over.

Instead of giving up, I may have to switch things up.  I could either use this song in my head as a way to bring myself further into a sleep-like state....or I could try and discard the thought of the song everytime it pops into my head.

Once I clear my thoughts, I may now find it easier to continue with the Triangle Method.

So as you can see, there is no one way to go about this.  When I am laying down and not really relaxed, I use breathing exercises to calm me down.  I usually don't try Brim's technique until I am calm and relaxed.

quote:

and what u mean with "images" ?

In other words, when you close your eyes (try it right now), you will first see blackness, right?  Then you may see flashes of bright white light, usually after-images of whatever you were previously looking at before shutting your eyes.

Once the after-images fade away, you may start to see colors come and go, like dark reds or blues.  Just observe them and let them pass.

The deeper you fall into a relaxed state, the more these colors will actually start to take on a 2 Dimensional form.  Much like looking at a TV.

Continuing deeper in relaxation, the two dimensional shapes will begin to take on a three dimensional quality.  They will begin to have depth and shape.  This is a good sign, because it means you're right on the border between your imagination and the astral environment.  From here, you can phase into the astral or roll out of your body.

Best of luck......keep practicing and see how far you can go with the images.  I use that as a benchmark to letting me know how close I am to "getting out."

Yes, that is the million dollar question, isn't it?  Let me ask you, how do you roll out of bed in the morning?  Do you think about it or just do it?

I'm not trying to be a smartass, but for me, the actual separating from the body is the easiest part.  I just do it.  The hard part is getting to the stage where you can separate.

For me, it's like this.  I used this example before but I'll do it again.  Imagine pushing a big boulder up a hill.  Getting that hard f**ker up the hill can be exhausting (not to mention discouraging), right?

Once you're at the top however, do you ask yourself, "Now how am I going to get this thing down?"

NO!  Simply because once you reach that threshold at the top, the ball will begin rolling down the otherside easily on it's own.

Going OBE is just like that.  It may take a lot of effort and preparation on your part to bring your body and mind to a certain benchmark.....but once it's in the right spot, your separation REFLEX kicks in and whenever you move, you will be moving your astral body and not your physical one.

Well, now that I think about it, I try and HOLD the image in my mind's eye for as long as I can before it fades away.  The closer I am to projecting, the longer I can hold the image.

It may not make sense to read things like that, but the more you try it for yourself, you'll begin to see what I mean.

Right before I separate, I feel a number of things.

1) I have a feeling of what's about to happen.  In other words, I'm aware that I'm about to separate.....then I try to separate and it happens.

2) I have a little excitement go through me, but experience and practice has helped me deal with that emotion.  In the beginning, I would let me excitement get the better of me and kill my experience before it ever really started.

3) I also usually hear an absense of sound.  In other words, I hear something like a vacuum....almost like a sucking of air all around me.  As a perfect example, have you ever ridden in an airplane?  Do you know those little air nozzles they position above your head that you can turn on and off to get some fresh air blown on your face?  When I'm separating, I hear that vacuous hissing sound most of the time.  Only on a minority of occassions have I heard voices or screaming.

You will feel disoriented in seconds.

Hello!
Thanks for your awesome method!

I just tried it on yesterday and got cool results...because of a reason i do not know i forgot to use the ribbon i usually bind around my head for creating absolute darkness....that was a big obstacle but results were amazing.

I never succeeded in relaxing completely before when i lay on my back and had to stop after about 20 Minutes because i felt highly unconfortable...but now it really seemed as if my body falls asleep and i catched myself for the first time of falling asleep and losing steady thaughts while i lay on my back. That`s something completely new for me...and don`t laugh, i practiced for nearly 3 years[8D]

Well...all of a sudden my eyes just made some problems and avoided the relaxation but tonight i think i can even get further.I`ll combine it with some sort of breath-meditation i think...

I think i even felt a pre-OBE sign...It felt as if my legs were heavily jogged by some force but it was also very short...this happened another time with another part of my body but i thaught it might have been some sort of muscle contraction...so i tried how it felt, when i would really put tension on my leg...it was totally different from what i felt so i am really optimistic.

Are these the vibrations everybody talks about?Or even something stronger?Would it be possible that these parts may have already seperated for a short amount of time?

Thanks again!

Very interesting method. I can relate exactly to the sound you talk about, i find it can even be heard whilst wide awake - if you sit quietly and listen.

I read a document on AP a while ago where the author claimed that if you could concentrate exculsively on the sound for a few minutes it would lead to vibrations. Ive tried this several times and i get the vibrations, but no seperation, but i think this is due to fear more than anything else.

I will let you know how i get on with your triangle technique.

Thanks for sharing

I knew already the triangle method.
The point is when you connect your third eye to the ears and connect your backhead to the ears you get a cross. When you follow your attention to the crossing point inside your head, you will suddely get to a point of stillness and love.It also the "Chris - consciousness".It easy to aware of it in a Time "NOW" like theta - state.
The third eye is related to memory , the backhead is related to visions. This cross centre is interconnected with some "etherical" like sensors. UP,DOWN,LEFT,RIGHT,FRONT,BACK there is each one sensor, what can reach out over 600 meters and more.Egyptians did their homework in it, already.

I try kind of sound-mind-practice for a londer time and i also can produce 'high pitching' sounds.
First just imagine a snare sound in mind.
It needs time to develop.
Believe to perceive this sound with hearing ability, so get it after a period of time. After this, repeat this sound and let it go, you may hear a piched funny sound.

Also u can go with you mind to a place away from you over 500 meters.
Remember space and time is just a product of our 3rd dimensional mind.
All is conected together.
Just put your focus on your hearing ability and you wlll receive sounds of that place in an some low-pitchin but very sensitive case.

Hi all, I havent tried the Triangle method, but Im going to tonight. I have been trying to project about 2 weeks now and I have had some success, Iv tried afew methods but last night I got the closest Iv ever been.
What I did: I started by turning on the fan in my room and laying in the dark, I was using the body asleep mind awake technique for awhile to get me in a more relaxed state, then I started to listen more to the fan and forced myself into the 3d darkness, I was listening to the fan and watching the colors in the darkness and I got alot of heavy vibrations, also I felt like I was starting to leave my body, not out of it or above, but like moving more inside, or deeper if that makes sense. I got excited and came back to "c1"

Also some times I try and picture a live fire (moving and growing) and that gets me close as well..
I just would like some advice and input on my situation

just wanted to say thank you.. when i first saw this method i kinda passed over it as it was different than all other methods i have been taught.

however tonight, in my daily practice i decided to give it a wirl.. and damn!!!

i almost immediatly got the "shifting" slightly vertigo sensations.. usually it takes me at least a half hour of medition to get these sensations.. this was right after i finished doing my relaxation exercises.. maybe a minute after i first started being aware of the "sss" sound..

i started to feel my etheric body expanding.. almost pushing at some sort of boundary... i started to feel my consciousness outside my body.. but i started experiencing all these panic attack sensations.. my body tensing up, short of breath, etc..

i started consciouslly relaxing and i guess after i shifted my thoughts to my body rather than the triangle the sensations started to fade.. i kinda repeated the whole process again but once more felt the panic attack sensations so i decided to call it a night and try again tomorrow. (hopefully i'll get used to these sensations and be able to move beyond them)

the only time i've evered experienced ap is when it's happened spontaneously.. i've been practing daily for months now trying to be able to do it at will...

anyway.. thanks for the technique. its been the most effective one i've used so far.

For people trying to experience the Ssssssssssss sound:

I've been taking this sound for granted.  If you not sure what it really sounds like, try this.  When no one is stomping around your house (early AM, late PM, middle of the day), draw yourself a nice hot bath.  While the tub fills, try and slip into at least a light meditative state.  Its difficult to get not deep meditation unless you have a "good" tub, I know most Americans have lousy tubs for soking in [;)]

Now slip down on to your back until your ears are covered with water, but your face is in the air.  This is a very silly looking position, because for most people your feet are up in the air [:P]

Now what you can expect to here are thumps if someone slams a dorr or stomps up the steps.  You can hear your heartbeat.  But the biggest is you can hear the Sssssssssssss very easily.  Meditate and focuse you attention on your third eye, I usually hear a change in teh "pitch".  Now focus at teh top of your crawn, thepitches cahnges slightly.  I seem to 'hear' things the loudest a few inches above my crown.

I've tried tub projecting before, but the water gets too cold before I'm done...

Instead of visualisation techniques i tried to use sounds... It just worked for me so i decided to put up a method and write it on the forums... So other people can benefit and maybe find further methods...

Hi there,

I have developed a new method of retrieving the 3D Blackness stage easily. I called it Triangle method. It may be similar to the other methods but it works faster than any other for me. No visualization is required! I want to share it with you.

First of all when you are falling in to sleep have you ever realized your astral body hearing? Just like your astral view, you have astral hearing. You can hear the outside sounds at the same time but if you concentrate on hearing with the astral ears, you will realize that the physical sounds slowly fade away.

You can be familiar with your astral ears when you just wake up by checking if it is still there. And you will hear no sound but a little noise. I will try to describe it: Turn on your CD player or Cassette player and pause the system. Open up the volume. You will hear a sound from the speakers. When you concentrate on your astral ears when you are about to sleep or just waking up you will hear a sound like this.

Ok, If you can hear this sound then you can use this method for seperating your body.

You have two ears and one Third Eye. That makes a triangle! All you have to do is to concentrate on your ears and the third eye at the same time. And suddenly you will feel disoriented. If you are not fully relaxed at the time this disorientation feeling goes off quickly. Wait until your body gets to sleeping position while concentrating on the triangle. And you will start to feel a swaying sensation all over the triangle.

The best thing is : You can try this method with your physical eyes open!

Try it and feel the disorientation quickly.

Relax your body enough to feel the vibrations!!!

I never seem to have had any problem hearing astral sound, I heard it even before I knew what it was; taking it for granted. I am also very musically inclined, and most of the time I am more clairaudient than clairvoyant.

I think that hobbies, and the way you think, learn and communicate have an effect on the best method to use when trying to project or get vibrations. For example, I have had a lot of difficulty using projection methods that require the third eye alone.

Do others of you find this as well? If you have been working really hard with this method, and not having much success, I recommend trying a different method based on these factors.

Good Luck!

I feel and hear only NNNNNNNN sound, that like, open your TV and Mute it. You'll hear a NNNN sound from your TV.. I had only hear this sound. What can I do for hearing SSSS sound ?

Syntax if you hear a NNNN sound just use it... That is the sound you are looking for. People just describe the sound in different ways.

Concentrate on the NNN sound and your third eye... Feel yourself between your ears and your third eye... Thats all about it.

Hmm let me see... You are missing the point here i think.

The point is to feel yourself in your astral body.

How do we feel ourselves in our physical body? Concentrate on your ears and eyes now. You can feel your existance in the physical plane easily.

The triangle method does the same thing. You just concentrate on your Astral senses in order to feel yourself in the astral plane.

If your breath exercise interrupts the sound just dont do the breath exercise. Just try to listen the sound and soon you will start hearing awful astral noises. Dont be distracted by them. Beware that the vibrations may start at this point.

DONT TRY TO VISUALIZE ANYTHING WHILE DOING THIS.

Concentrating on the third eye:
Now close your eyes and dream yourself somewhere else. What you are doing right now is concentrating your third eye.

Hope it helps...

I have tried methods before, but I have never had success. I can never seem to get relaxed enough to do it. I have awakened to the frozen state several times and once I felt vibrations. I know I had an OBE once, but I couldn't "see".

Anyway, last night I tried your technique. And it was really hard for me to focus because the fan I have is really loud. So I couldn't get the hang of it before falling alseep. I figured must try when I am awaking because it's easy to get into a trance state. (I am notorious for waking several times a night)

So last night at about 4am I woke up and was in that half awake half asleep phase. The first thought that popped in my head was "place yourself in the triangle".  I focused on the SSSS sound  and my astral ears.  Suddenly everything became focused.  I could feel my third eye vibrating and "swishing" if that makes sense? Like a strong resonation. Maybe that's that disorientation you mentioned. I felt a small amount of vertigo. Then the thought "IT's going to happen!!!!" popped in my head and I felt this rush of excitement and it died. LOL

But I have to say, for my first time that this method has worked better than any I have tried. I'm gonna keep trying!! :D

I tried this method a couple of days ago and felt a slight vibration on my forehead for about 2 seconds, then it stopped, and I had no other type of sensations....am I getting any closer? I'm wondering if I'm doing it right.... :-P
I relaxed first, then concentrated on this method, then fell asleep after I felt the vibrations.

I think it is because when the forum switched formats, the original post was lost, and later recovered without the original poster's name- one of those technical snafus.  So the tech is on page 5, and possibly somewhere else without the name.

There are several things you should understand before risking your money using this or any other method. The first is that no system or method works 100 percent of the time and you can be assured that there will be times when you do lose money. This system always trades with a stop loss order but the amount you lose may be in excess of your initial deposit as the use of stop orders may not limit your losses to the intended amount. I have been successful trading this method but past performance is not necessarily indicative of future results. For all I know, this year may be remembered as “The year of the Triangle” and this method become totally ineffective from now on, but I seriously doubt it. Also, I have not traded every Triangle chart pattern you see in this manual and I make no claims as to how much you could have made because I have know way of knowing what the market conditions were at the time the Triangle formed. I don’t believe in promoting “hypothetical”
trading results. They can be misleading because they often do not reflect certain market factors such as lack of liquidity.

I think this person is a comment spammer, using the word 'triangle' to post their gobbledygook.

No doubt, you are certainly right.
