1  Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Astral Consciousness! / Re: I've been trying for over a year, and never had vibrations. on: June 29, 2008, 00:56:33
Really good advice!

Only thing I'd like to add is 'stop trying so hard'. This was my problem initially, I'd plan every step into a detailed plan. I got so caught up in doing every step right that I lost sight of the bigger picture. Projection/phasing/OBE whatever you want to call it is an inbuilt natural ability everyone has. Nowadays I just relax and 'enjoy the show', for me-the less I try, the more I succeed.

Embodied words,

I understand what you are going through.

What I learned is that astral projection (phasing) cannot be forced at all.  You have to reach the right state of consciousness.  Once you have, the transition is probably the easiest, most natural thing you will ever do.  Its as simple as moving.  But to be honest, I have never in my life achieved an out of body experience through meditation or trances.  The only way it works for me (quite well) is when I basically go to sleep knowing that I want to phase.  At some point I become conscious in a near sleep state, and I know that I can slip out of my body.  I start moving slowly at first and then I just take off.  Its a lot easier to do than it is to explain.

I would not waste my time with the literature because it has not helped me at all.  Tomorrow morning when you wake from a dream, don't move.  Just go back to sleep with the idea that everything will work out.  Don't try to stay conscious, don't do energy work, don't think just know what you want and try to fall asleep.  You'll know when the moment is right because you have probably done it before, you just don't remember.  The only way to get anywhere is to just try, reading can distort your beliefs and limit your ability.  Feel your way to your goal.

The most important think is to not force it.  If its not going to happen, its not.  Sometime you will reach a point that just feels 100% right and you will know what to do and when.  Trust me, I've tried all these methods.  I've read so much material.  I've wasted so much time.

If you spent just a little more time trying to find the right state of consciousness, or to allow that state to find you, you would move towards success.  Once you know what to look for, it does become easier.  I had an idea of what astral projection was from reading stuff, and I was searching for that instead of using my instinct, my intention, and patience to allow myself to openly receive an experience without the distorted expectation.  That is when I left my body, and now, I can allow it happen whenever I please.  No rush, no thought, just will.

The best thing you can do is forget everything you've read, and rediscover what you already now.  Forget about astral projection and search for an experience.  It will come to you if you ask for it.  But you have to receive it when it comes, so be open to anything that happens and trust your intuition.  The instructions to a successful out of body experience can only be found in yourself, written in feeling.  Intellectual concepts and language are too mechanical to explain these feelings, so they won't do you service.  I promise the answer is so simple that you will look back at these painful trials and laugh when you experience it.  Its so simple that words are to complex to describe it.

Knowledge can be confusing, and distracting.  Step back to the simplest thing that you know, intention, and remember how to astral project.

All that is required is will.

2  Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to OBE discussions! / Liquidity on: May 28, 2008, 23:06:41
Lately, once in focus 10+, I get the sensation of being ... well liquid! The best way to describe it is how it feels when you are floating in a pool where there is some turbulence. Bobbing up and down, side to side, back and forward etc.

The sensation goes deep inside me also, like my whole form is actually a body of fluid.

Anyone had this sensation b4?
3  Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Astral Consciousness! / Re: Gateway experience last night - a few questions on: May 10, 2008, 23:45:57
Don't try to analyse these things too much right now - just go with it and see where it leads you. Also, don't impose previous sessions experiences on the next - expecting things to happen is one way of stopping what might possibly happen.

2nded. Good advice. Just enjoy the ride and don't over-analyse. I made that mistake in the beginning and lost sight of the bigger picture. Focus levels are useful to track progress but you often have to go backward/sideward to move ahead. I figure I have the rest of my life to perfect everything. Right now, I'm going along enjoying the ride.

Keeping a journal can be a good way to track progress also

After getting similar advice as you've been given in this thread, my progress accelerated dramatically.
4  Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Astral experiences! / Impromptu projection whilst walking & talking! on: April 08, 2008, 00:04:08
Hi all,

Whilst walking through a shopping centre yesterday with my sons and on a mobile phone call, when I suddenly realised my consciousness was completely out of body.

I had that duality feeling (experiencing from both the body and projected consciousness) and experienced the below events simulateously (info-overload!).

Took me a while to work out what the hell was happening. First I noticed that my torso went TOTALLY numb (like it was not there - absolutely NIL sensory input) followed by the rest of the body.

From the 'external' focus, I observed myself whilst situated about a foot to the left and slightly to the rear of my physical body, watching me walking and speaking into the mobile as a distinct separate entity. As if I was walking alongside and listening to another person - not knowing what words would be spoken until they were voiced. (Have you ever had that feeling of speaking to someone and then you temporarily *click out* and don't know what you're going to say next, yet the words still come out coherent?)

From my 'inner' focus, I felt like a hollow shell- like I'd been gutted - there was no 'source' to me. I guess zombie-like is the best description- like 'theres a light on, but nobody's home' - terrible feeling! Like I was going to crumple in a heap.

The whole event lasted perhaps 60 seconds and took a while before I was in sync again. Only remembered the above after some deep reflection.

Anyone had a similar experience? Roll Eyes
5  Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Astral Consciousness! / Re: Need feedback. I feel the separation but no projection? on: April 04, 2008, 13:38:39
Best advice I got was to stop focussing on the body, relax more into the process, enjoy the freedom and focus on being 'elsewhere'. To me, the whole 'leaving the body' thing is a stereotype from being in a physical form. Why do we need a physical body to travel in a non-physical environment?

I think there is too much weight given to being able to "leaving your body, turning around and see it there lying on the bed" to prove one has OBE'd/projected.

If you are getting clear separation, then you are already there! By focussing on the bodily sensations too long you can keep your consciousness distracted from the real purpose. Read the Frank Keppel resource- he talks about making a compelling scenario in your mind to keep your focus off the physical. (Also read the astral pulse island threads)

Practice this long enough and you will 'leave' your body and travel 'by thought' without needing to drag along a redundant chassis as proof you've succeeded.

Just my 2 cents.

7  Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Astral experiences! / Visions upon awakening before opening eyes on: February 15, 2008, 23:59:08
Hi all,

Couple questions.

Frequently just after waking up in A.M. just before I open my eyes, I can often see the following;

1) The same 3d Blackness I reach during trance work (I can understand this as I am probably still in deep consciousness from the sleep. I see the same 3d scene of thousands of tiny dots in a 3d holographic display in the blackness. Sometimes I can see the room through my closed eyelids. It is that same slightly fuzzy view one sees in OBE to RTZ)

2) Liquid, fluid swirling shapes around the outline of my hands if I move them over my closed eyelids. Could this be seeing my aura?
8  Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Permanent Astral Topics! / Re: A Focus 23 retrieval on: February 09, 2008, 02:01:40
I think the act of retrievals are the most highest form of love, kindness, spirituality and contribution to the spiritual world.

Adrian, although you are clearly more advanced than I in retrievals, I still applaud you.

9  Energy Development / Welcome to Energy Body Development! / Re: diminishing your ego on: January 23, 2008, 00:08:32
I find myself saying the following to a lot of posts I reply to.

I think its all about setting, prioritizing and managing one's values systems. Really digging around in the deep recesses of the mind and flushing out all the concerns, negative and positive thought patterns, beliefs, fears, strengths etc. I have asked my guides to help me with this and it has helped me immensly come to terms with and set directions in my life.

It is difficult because even if one has not lived in a strictly religeous family, it is still concerning at how many values/beliefs you realise you find you have that are based on religeon. These overtones can affect how you see yourself (ego) and whether you are living up to (or 'failing') those expectations. You have to decide whether you agree with those deep beliefs or not. That is everyone's choice to make and nobody (me included) should tell you what is right and true for you. Only you can do that.

Once you have a pretty clean definition of what and how you wish to look at life that makes sense to YOU, you can then analyse if others are there to help you or not.

Also check my other post

Unfortunately, I'm middle aged so this sort of stuff gets pretty important to people in my age bracket and I'm not sure of your age so I can only suggest to sit down with yourself and start writing down your beliefs and values- then see what thought patterns develop from there. Make it an ongoing journal of thoughts for a couple days/week etc. Then:

* Sort through what is really important to you based on your life expectations,
* Resolve those deep seated fears (such as if you have a fear of spiders - spend time just watching one build it's web and start to see positive aspects such as how they create a spiderweb. You will be stunned at how much thought it has to do to create the symmetrical patterns)
* Dump the obsolete and forced values placed on you (ensuring you retain the basics of being kind to others etc)
* And make a plan how you wish to achieve your goals, what issues may affect your progress and how you will deal with them and set meaningful benchmarks so you know if you are on the right track.

Here's a very basic example of one of mine.

  • Goal:                                   To become more spiritual and less materialistic
  • Expected obstacles of this goal:     Temptation to buy things I don't really need (Tv ads, seeing friends with new 'midlife crisis toys'
  • Planned work-arounds: Resolve not to buy something I 'want' the same day. Resolve to wait a couple days and then see if I still actually need it or not AND                                                            leave credit cards at home
  • How will I know if I've succeeded?:                           Maintain $*** balance in bank account each month

Hope this helps somehow...
10  Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Astral experiences! / OBE durations on: January 22, 2008, 04:36:12
Hi

I seem to be having longer and longer OBE sessions. Today I was out for 3hours. Obviously not all of that was in projection. My guesstimate of how long I have been out was ~2hrs. I did not lose consciousness or click out at any stage.

How long is the average projection (in physical time of course) you have?

Just so's we're comparing 'apples for apples':

  • By projection I am referring to 'mind awake - body asleep' and that freedom feeling of cleanly separating from the body like a balloon being released into the air.
  • My definition of 'body asleep' is hearing yourself snore and/or uncontrollable saliva and swallowing stopped and/or body numb all over & very difficult to try to move.

I'm not sure if you disregard the time in the duality state (that simultaneous sense of being 'out' whilst still being 'in' the body). I often drift between being 'cleanly' out and the duality state, Within the duality periods, it feels like perhaps 75% sensation of being out and 25% in the body for me. Sort of like I am distinctly outside my perspective of where my body is but still have that sense of body somewhere in the background.

It's impossible to tell exactly how much of my session today was 'cleanly' out, but I was pretty well OBE'ing (in the general sense of the term) by the end of my 30min relaxation mp3 until stopping ~3hrs so approx 2.5hrs all up for both clean separation, duality and some cruising around in 3d blackness.

I could have continued in this state indefinately if my stupid bladder would go to 'sleep' too!

PS: I use a combination of a Robert Bruce 37min relaxation session at the start and a BWG preset running in the background.
11  Psychic and Paranormal / Welcome to Psychic and Paranormal! / Re: do I need to worry? on: January 20, 2008, 00:45:35
I've learnt a basic rule in spirituality that 'thought equals action'.

Any influence we believe others have over us are 100% powered by our own belief that they have that ability. Removing your belief removes their influence & affect on you. An honest reassessment of one's beliefs can eliminate unwanted lingering doubt/fear.

It may be that the place was legit and really does want to help people, but the weird vibe you got should be enough to be wary that it wasn't for you.
12  Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to OBE discussions! / Re: Was this AP or just a dream? on: January 11, 2008, 23:26:21
Pick a random playing card from a deck. Without looking at the face of the card, place it somewhere that you normally could not see/reach (atop a cupboard etc or stickytape it face-out on the inside of a window that you can't see/reach, like I do).

Then when you project, go to the card and see what it is. There's only a 2% chance of correctly guessing without seeing the card.
13  Healing / Welcome to the Healing place! / Hang in there! on: January 11, 2008, 00:40:19
It's curious that you say "It's almost supernatural"

When I look back over my life and consider all the hardships I've had to face, I can see now how these issues have benefitted my spiritual growth. Another way of facing your life's woes is to consider them challenges / obstacles that have been placed in front of you (by your soul and others) in your current physical life. If you seem to be having the same bad luck, perhaps a look inward at the growth opportunities you may have missed from these problems.

I have found that if I've missed the opportunity to learn a certain ability by certain hardships placed in front of me, I tend to have similar hardships occur again (presumably, until I got the "message")

If one looks at these challenges as growth opportunities and really thinks hard about how they have dealt with those kind of things in the past, it's almost like you can see a pattern emerging. I'm not making light of your predicament, please understand but you only really have two options when faced with hardship.

1: Try to avoid it and hope it goes away.

2: Try to look 'beneath the problem' as to what personal growth can you experience so you can perhaps turn it around into
    a kind of 'positive.'

S**T is still going to happen whatever choice you pick so why not get some 'value' from it when it strikes?

I know this may not help make you feel better right now, but it might be something that you mull over for a while?

I know its hard to try to make something negative into constructive when you are feeling down but its only through adversity and the way we face it that we 'grow'. (I've just been reminded of the phrase "That which does not kill you, makes you stronger")

14  Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Astral Consciousness! / Update on: January 09, 2008, 05:27:30
Update.

Just had another pure consciousness experience. This time I had no feeling to 100% of my body. I was fully lucid and could hear my body sleeping & snoring LOL.

Again, my identity felt like ... well, nothing physical. Just my consiousness. This is a new experience for me as in all my projecting/phasiing practice, I have always had some small / distant measure of duality/body awareness. This time - absolutely nothing!!! No tethering to the body.

Just clear, fluid freedom!

Starting out, I had some of the classic OBE signs, vibrations, feeling loose within the body, then partial separation. Couldn't get much past this point so counted back from 100 deep breaths to deepen the trance. When I reached around 15, I had no further 'typical' symptoms and realised I had no sense of the body.

Phasing was so easy! Just set the intent and I was anywhere I wanted to go instantly. I didn't seem to be in that same place as before, it was definately more RTZ.
15  Energy Development / Welcome to Energy Body Development! / Re: Most simple method to build Energy b4 attempting AT? on: January 07, 2008, 07:03:51
I've found an incredibly simple yet powerful way to summon up energy. I simply ask my guides for an energy burst. That's it! Within a few seconds I get an incredibly powerful stream of energy entering from my heart chakra which then flows out to the entire body. The sensation lasts approx 5 seconds and is very strong and paralyzing but then turns into an almost orgasmic flow as it starts to pulsate through the body) - there is no mistaking it. I once accidentally electrocuted myself with 240Volts and this feeling is no less powerful!

After they have 'delivered', I thank my guides and tell them "I'll see you soon". I then use this energy within the body to develop the vibrations.

I guess the only proviso is that you have to believe in the concept of spirit guides and their ability to transfer energy to you.
