1  Dreams / Welcome to Dreams! / I think my wifes late grandfather came to see me in my dream last night. on: April 02, 2014, 21:12:03
OK so I think I had a dream last night that possibly included a deceased person come and visit me, to ask me where my wife was.  TL;DR at the bottom.

I'll set the scenario.  My wife has always proclaimed to be spiritually open. She says she can see spirits in her day to day life, and they are attracted to her because she is open about it. She's said a few things which have been pretty outstanding because she couldn't have possibly known.  For example, she saw a miner at my parents house before she knew my parents house was in an old mining village.
She was brought up by her grandparents and refers to her grandparents as mum and dad.  Her grandad/dad has recently deceased. About 6 months or so ago.

OK so we live on another continent to where her grandparents are.  Its literally thousand and thousands of miles. (12 hour flight) away.  I've been there twice in recent years and seen her grandparents.

So as I said earlier, her grandfather died about 6 months ago.  Other thing to note, is that unfortunately me and the wife have split up about a month ago and no longer seeing much of each other and don't know whats going on in each others lives.

Last night I had the most bizzare dream.  I was in a house, in an upstairs room with other people. It was some kind of meeting, some kind of convention. I dont know. But I came out of the room to see a man coming up the stairs,  and she's asking where my wife was, (by full name, which is not how i refer to her by).  I noticed it was her dad, but I had forgotten in my dream state that he had passed.  She was in another upstairs room in the house in a separate party.  But I managed to find her and tell her, that her dad was looking for her.  She said that was impossible as he was dead.  I was very confused, and said. No, I've just seen him!   The same thing happened again. I'm aware that I'm back on my own, and there he is again, asking again "Where is [wifes full name]?"   I recognised him totally.  All the facial features, the glasses. It was so vivid.  So I said to him I will go and get her for you.  I went back and told her again, and she was still adament. I said, no, i've seen your dad twice now!

So she came with me, back to the stairs and he wasn't there. We went down the stairs, and I saw a very old woman laying on a sofa. But we couldn't find him now.

That is pretty much how the dream ended. Except I was very aware that I needed to tell my wife in real life what had happened, because, I know she's spiritual and possibly would believe that this was his spirit looking for her.  I actually dreamt a few times I was telling her in some false awakening situation. But realised no, I must tell her in real life.

So I finally got hold of my wife again.  I wanted to email her the moment I woke up. But I managed to hold onto vivid memories. And that dream was vivid. It was so much more powerful than a normal dream.  The detail of it was astounding.  Anyway I told her, and what she said astonished me.   She said  "Well since we broke up, I've turned myself away from spiritual things. I've closed myself off. I need to concentrate on me now."  She seemed very a taken back by my dream.

So. wow!  Maybe because she's turned herself away from being spiritually open, his spirit can no longer see her, and he's asking where she is.

Now remember, I only met this guy twice.  I've never dreamt of him before now, and my own focus of attention has been away from that side of things. So it was completely random to me that he would appear in my dream, and in such clarity as well.

Might just be a random dream. But certainly an interesting one, especially considering the surroundings.

TL;DR Ex Wifes grandad/dad randomly comes to me in a vivid dream asking where the wife is. Wife tells me she's recently closed herself off spiritually.

I'm thinking "energy" is a metaphor entirely.  Maybe I need educating, but I have no idea what it is. But people talk about it in such a physical sense.
3  Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Out of Body Experiences during tense excersise. on: March 06, 2014, 16:03:57
So a friend of mine who used to swim professionally told me something very interesting the other day.

She said that when in a swimming race, sometimes she'd get sensations of going out of body. She said she was focussed on the race and could sort of see herself from up above as if she was floating on top of her body.   Interestingly she added that during these times, she never really felt that tired during the race, and never felt her muscles burning. She was just focussing on the technique, and she wasn't really feeling anything.  When this happened, she recorded her best times.   She felt tired after the race, but not during.

I found this really interesting, because all the methods we hear about are about fully relaxing your body, meditation etc.  Yet here we have the complete opposite end of the spectrum where someone is stressing their body to the maximum, but being so focussed on the race that they have had an OBE during it, and not only that, by being focussed away form the body they have managed to surpass / block the feelings of being tired and muscle burnings and performed better!

I'm curious if anyone else has ever had OBE sensations during physical exercise?
4  Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Astral Projection Experiences! / Re: Newbie first real astral experience on: March 06, 2014, 13:37:27
I dont agree with Szaxx where he says going to Hawaii is an RTZ projection.  It's actually very difficult to validate an RTZ projection unless you see somethng you were previously unaware of, and then wake up and confirm it.

I've never been to Hawaii before, but I think beeches when I think about it. So if I wanted to goto Hawaii whilst in a lucid dream. I'm sure i'll see beaches, or what I think Hawaii would look like.   To confirm if I was really there or not, I'd have to see something and then confirm that it actually exists.  RTZ can also have overlays, where some things are accurate and some things arent.

Personally, I find the whole concept of RTZ so unreliable, that its better to not even try. Just blast off to the higher focus levels and take your experiences there.

By the way it sounds like you're doing great with all this!  Though its interesting how you don't want to be going OBE.  I love going OBE and I cant understand why anyone wouldnt. Its like taking a heavy space suit off. Its so comfortable. No gravity, no weight, freedom to swoosh and swirl around without feeling dizzy. Its awesome.  If I could go OBE at will I think it'd become a serious addiction.  But I guess everyone is  different Smiley

Guided meditations and binaurals have done absolutely nothing for me, other than become a distraction.. So I might try this one out when i get a chance. See if it invokes anything positive or negative.
6  Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Re: Being pulled OOB by a separate entity? on: March 06, 2014, 12:30:32
I think we might have set a record here for bumping a 10 year old thread!

Its quite normal to feel a presence during Sleep Paralysis and peoples fear of the sleep paralysis has fed that presence to feel evil or somewhat threatening. This is just a reflection of your own thoughts.

Can someone alter your state of consciousness for you? Well they can in the physical world.  For example when people have been indoctrinated into cults etc. Mind control makes people think very differently.  So I would believe it could be possible for an external entity to co-hears you into focussing your consciousness to the none physical . (thus giving the feeling of being pulled out of your body).

On a couple of my lucid dreams/astral projections, or whatever they were. I have felt that something threw me out.  I have been peaceful and calm during a none physical experience and as soon as I tried to do too much or ask too many questions, I'm suddenly back to the physical.  I get the feeling something has kicked me out, as if I shouldn't be there.  But I cannot be sure of that, and as such would be nowhere near to drawing to that conclusion.
7  Metaphysics / Welcome to Metaphysics! / Re: My alien encounter on: March 06, 2014, 11:03:06
So I read this entire thread last night and it creeped me out big time! My fault for reading it in a very dark room whilst alone in a dark house at 2am!!

I'm sorry I don't really have anything to add, but it sounds like an incredible experience.  I think things like this have to happen every now and again to keep us thinking and broadening our minds.  I completely agree with where our physical bodies limit what we can perceive.  I use a similar analogy myself if no one had a sense of smell, how do we know the existence of or understand the concept of smell? We wouldn't.

There are no answers, only more questions!
8  Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Re: whats best - project from awake or sleeping? on: March 06, 2014, 10:57:40
I think its different for each individual.
As is said many times, do not try AP before going to bed as part of your normal routine. I know this is the most convenient time. But it rarely works.  Your mind is tired after the day, and you're conditioned to just go to sleep then.

If youre at a point about completely obsessing about AP, and its at the front of your mind and in your subconcious then you may be able to train yourself to launch into one upon waking. But as others have said, you have to catch yourself waking up.  You could set yourself an alarm to remind you so as youre waking up, your alarm is shouting "Astral Project! Astral Project" for about 20 seconds, then it goes quiet so you can be reminded to do it.  I might try this myself actually!

The best time is to sleep in an irregular way.  Have a lay in, and try after you've already had a good nights sleep. Or go for an afternoon siesta.  I find that having something to keep me a little alert as I'm falling asleep does wonders.  Like the other day, it was really windy and I could hear my back door banging open and closed. It wasn't loud enough to keep me awake, but it was there and I thinking "i'm going to have to get up and shut that door properly, the neighbours are gonna start moaning at me!"   This seemed to provide (for me at least) a good grounding to jump into AP. My body was relaxed but my mind was keeping alert, but not too alert to the point where I'm restless.

Another time I recall getting a spontaneous OBE was when I was very worked up about something that I had to deal with the next day. I was in a hotel, and had to be at the British Embassy the next morning to apply for my wifes visa. It was very stressful time, and I'm laying there thinking about all that.  (she didn't legally even need a visa but they were insisting and it was tinkling me off!) and next minute i feel myself floating out of my body.

So yeah different methods work best for different people.  But each method has an underlying similarity: Body asleep, mind awake.

9  Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Astral Consciousness! / Re: Healing Crystals and Astral Projection on: March 06, 2014, 10:27:20
I'm not too affirmed on the energy stuff, but my wife swears by it being Wiccan.  I still don't understand what this definition of "energy" is. It seems a very loose term, and doesn't hold up scientifically.

Having said that, I did once have a reiki session with a Reiki master.  Thats all about channelling energy and healing. Its pretty relaxing and I could feel stuff.  I did feel like I could launch into Astral Projection at any moment.  So maybe there is merit in it somewhere. But I cant begin to understand it.  I see AP as refocussing our consciousness more than dealing with energy.
10  Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Astral Projection Experiences! / Re: This ones for my Conscious Projectors on: March 05, 2014, 22:10:52
Never heard of this happening before. I seem capable of spinning around hanging upside down and allsorts (whilst in an OBE type state) and i dont feel dizzy or anything.

I guess you can only keep trying and see if it happens again.
11  Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Re: visited my girlfriend. A tad confused. on: October 06, 2013, 10:26:45
Hi, I've also OBEd and gone to see the girlfriend at the time a few times, and even had interractions.  But on each occasion she has no memory of the event. I also got some details of her room completely wrong.
My experiences (and yours with the looks of it) would be a field day for the sceptics for OBE I'm afraid!
12  Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Re: I need to get back; what happened? on: October 05, 2013, 18:59:02
How does one ask his higher self/superconcious for this request?
13  Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Re: I need to get back; what happened? on: October 05, 2013, 17:38:52
I have the same problem. Real life took over and my will for Astral Projection stuff just seems to have ran into the background.  I just don't have the enthusiasm for it any more. Yet I still want to pursue it.  I spent many months practising and had a few experiences, but nothing to prove to myself what i wanted to prove.

It kinda feels like you literally have to be obsessed with this to get anywhere.
14  Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Astral Consciousness! / Re: Light switch phenomenon on: July 09, 2013, 15:27:28
Dream signs.. oh yeah!

I frequently observe commercial airplanes crashing. Sometimes I may even be on said airplane.
Elevators do all sorts of weird and wonderful things. Like isntead of just going up and down, the roll around, go forward and backwards, go on entire journeys or are odd in many ways.
Light switches don't work keeping me in darkness.
I am frequently at my childhood home some 1600 miles away, and the house is as it was about 10 years ago.

So knowing all this, why don't I manage to jump lucid when these dreams are happening? I frequently get the above experiences whilst dreaming, so I should be aware that they're dreams when they happen. But, nope the brain is a troll and I don't realise until I've woken up!
15  Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Astral Consciousness! / Re: Projecting from SP on: July 09, 2013, 15:21:55
Lightbeam makes a great suggestion. You need to get away from your body. So start visualising being in another room and hopefully you should find yourself there, but also keep trying to maintain your awareness.

I also read before that you should place your intent on Astral Projection, not on Sleep Paralysis. You can skip right past SP and go straight to AP. A lot of people start focussing on getting sleep paralysis so they can astral project.  Don't do that! focus on astral projection! And it shall happen!

Thanks guys, tried the app you suggested as the other half has an android phone. No EVPs yet.. but will keep trying!
17  Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Astral Consciousness! / Re: Light switch phenomenon on: July 04, 2013, 14:02:41
It sounds to me like you just fell asleep and had a regular dream.

The light switch thing not working is very common. At least it is for me.  Sometimes like switches don't work at all and I'm in darkness still, which then becomes scary and the dream can get pretty nightmare ish. Other times the light is only very very dim, like not enough voltage is going through the bulb.  Try and remember it, because if you do have another dream where you find the light isnt working, you can use this as a basis to realise you're dreaming and therefore become aware. You can then go lucid and possibly (depending on your awareness) you could launch into a projection.

19  Psychic and Paranormal / Welcome to Psychic and Paranormal! / After a digital voice recorder for EVP on: July 03, 2013, 20:53:56
Hey all.  This may have been asked a lot, and this may not be the best place. I'm not sure how many EVP experts are on this forum. But I am after buying a digital voice recorder that people have had good experience with with doing EVPs.  I've seen some on other forums but they're quoting old model numbers that aren't available on amazon or wherever any more.  I also really like the idea of the live playback option where you can listen to whats being recorded as its being recorded. Also after one which can record in wav or pcm and not limited to mp3.

What recorders to people use on here, who have had some really good results from?  I'm hoping to spend less than 50 if possible.. bit poor, but really wanna do it Smiley
20  Dreams / Welcome to Dreams! / Gotta go pee!!! on: July 03, 2013, 20:47:42
Hey all.

Just really wanted to share this one with ya'll.   So its 4am, I'm dreaming about being back in college. Normal dream here.  I realised I needed to go pee, so I excused myself and headed off to the bathroom.

I tried to go, but couldn't go at all. It just wasn't happening.  Also people kept coming in and it was distracting me more. It just wasn't happening. It was very frustrating.

Then I woke up, needing to go pee for real. So I headed off to the toilet. I hit the light as I was walking in but it didn't work. I'm stood there, and once again I'm struggling to pee.  Then I realised!! I'm still dreaming, this is a false awakening! Bang lucidity! So for some reason I dropped to the ground.  I dropped with a thump.  Then I realised.. wait.. no, this is real wtf am I doing, I am awake. I could literally feel the solid porcelin of the toilet as I pulled myself up.

So I tried again... nothing.  But as I looked in the window I started seeing all these dancing shadows of people. As I looked more, a load of colours started emerging.... I am dreaming still!! Arghhh!!!  I'm thinking to myself. Wake up! I need to go pee.. for real!!! And If I keep trying to pee in my sleep I might actually end up peeing in real life in the bed, and thats very embarassing and the mrs would be very unhappy!!

So I woke up and headed to the bathroom, and the toilet was missing.  This is taking the tinkle now!!!!! Arghhh!!

Finally I woke up properly, for real and finally went, for real!  Without any accidents!  At the time of the dreams, they were as real as being awake. Incredible lucidity at times. Except I realised, I was at my parents bathroom in the family home some 1600 miles away when I was seeing the dancing shadows in the window.   For some reason being there didn't alude me to being lucid. But I dream I'm there all the time. My spirit self is very attracted to that house for some reason, and its no oddity that I am there if that makes any sense.

Anyway I thought it was funny.  Its not the first time I've dreamt of trying to go to the toilet when in the physical world i've actually needed to go!
Anyone else done the same?
21  Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Astral Projection Experiences! / Re: Is Astral Projection Real?! on: April 21, 2013, 12:03:30
Well youre asking an Astral Projection forum if its real. So yes, everyone here is going to reply with yes. Ask a scientific forum, or a sceptics forum if its real, and they'll probably say no.

What is real is this.  Something happens where our consciousness if shifted, giving us some kind of dream like and real life like experience where we are aware of it happening. A normal dream can be hazy at best and we are not aware we're in a dream. With Astral Projection, OBEs and Lucid Dreaming you have that awareness. You're mostly awake.

What is unclear to me, is exactly what this experience is.. Are we focussing our consciousness awareness to another dimension/plane ? Or is it just some crazy trick of the brain where we're in a natural half way state between being asleep and being awake?  Are we really going out of body? Or is our imagination and thoughts being turned into a solid dream like experience?
22  Psychic and Paranormal / Welcome to Psychic and Paranormal! / Re: inhuman e.v.p. on cell phone on: April 21, 2013, 11:57:48
You seem to know quite a lot of paranormal sites. Do you know if there are any that can analyse orbs on camera photos? To determine if its the camera or something more? I've had a couple of interesting ones around christmas this year. I wouldnt mind an 'expert' checking it out.
23  Psychic and Paranormal / Welcome to Psychic and Paranormal! / Re: First incounter with the supernatural on: April 17, 2013, 21:22:23
Sorry to bump an oldish thread. But that's a really awesome experience you had there. Though obviously very sorry to hear about your grandmothers passing.

Having heard many similar stories, apparitions etc of loved ones at times of passing, I do truly believe that you did perceive some energy from your grandmothers.   It probably didn't feel like you heard it with your physical ears, more like you just perceived the sound of your name in your head. Tho due to the fact you are so used to hearing with your physical ears you assumed it was them that picked up someone calling your name.  Tho if you think back, you'll probably realise the sound was from a different source.  This has been my experience on such things anyway.
Its similar to hypnogogic sounds when falling asleep and waking up.

What you didnt say, is whether the voices sounded like your grandmothers?
24  Psychic and Paranormal / Welcome to Psychic and Paranormal! / Re: Third eye pineal gland development on: April 17, 2013, 21:14:33
Sounds good, so why is it so hard to even recognise its there, or even control it. Why are we so naturally focussed on our 5 senses and physical.. to the point where most don't even believe in anything beyond?
25  Psychic and Paranormal / Welcome to Psychic and Paranormal! / Re: inhuman e.v.p. on cell phone on: April 17, 2013, 21:09:33
Thanks for the link, certainly sounds a bit scary.

I'm personally only interested in EVPs if they have context.  I'm very interested in them, and done plenty of recordings. But most of the stuff I get is just totally random.  I want one of those suckers to say my name! Or answer a question! Smiley
