Well that would indeed be an excellent study if you could do it! I also read that people who become blind continue to have sighted dreams for several, even many years after they lose their sight. Anyway, good luck with your endeavour as always i know you'll keep us informed.... btw it's 4:00am here in the UK so I think I better go to bed now!

Hmmm Well I wonder if you could advertise for volunteers? If you're able to give up sufficient time to tutor someone, that may be a way... but i admit it would be a long struggle...... most sighted people don't have the perseverence to do this. Robert Bruce said something weird in his book which I never understood, which was that blind people don't "see" during OBEs in the same way that sighted people do. How would he know, has he met blind OBErs? And why should our physical handicaps be duplicated in the OBE state?

I have a library of 100's of books on ESP and OBE's. I wouldn't trust Sapphire's book. get anything by Robert Monroe (get his 1st book) Robert Bruce Robert Peterson William Buhlman These are all generally trusted authors these days. Has Sapphire published his first book in its entirety for free gratis on the internet? Doubt it! That's exactly what Bob Peterson has done for the past 10 years. Now you can't doubt his sincerity can you? Here it is: http://www.robertpeterson.org/obebook.htmlReal fans might try to get hold of an old classic "Astral Projection" by Oliver Fox. I wonder how many board members heard of it? Was written back in about 1920 I think. It covers an exit technique called the The Pineal Doorway which may be useful. Hmm what is it about the name "Bob" !!!!

Hi Magickist
Thanks for the post. I can also add a couple more exit techniques;
1. Spinning: Whilst in the vibrational (or MABA) state, imagine yourself spinning about a vertical axis (so that the room appears to be spinning around). A bit like being on a roundabout in a kids' playground. You will probably feel the sensation of spinning before you see anything, but very soon you should actually behin to see the room moving round from your spinning position above your body. At this point I can usually see in dim grey shades. Fix your vision on something (say the corner of the room and stabilise/stop the spin. Stand up. Once stabilised, you should be able to see reasonably well. Leave the room!
2. Beam Out: Simply think of beaming across the room onto the floor some short distance away from your bed. After a short while you should become aware of being in this new position, probably kneeling on the floor, and probably you will be able to "see". I am usually facing away from the bed when i am able to "see" and then stand up, turn around and get a good look at the bedroom. If you can't "see" at this point, then then stand up and "feel" the bedroom wall, vision should come along fairly quickly after this. Leave the room!
In all cases I have found vision whilst in my bedroom to be grey shades but once I leave the room I have full colour!

Yeh, I hear people walking around the house too - which is well spooky - especially since I then have to decide whether I'm being burgled and actually hearing someone physically walking around. These sounds are extremely realistic. It's a difficult call when this happens! Radio is easy by comparison! I've heard the radio thing reported before, it's curious that many people should share this experience. If this is just a hallucination why the archetype? If it's not a hallucination what does it mean? Thanks for the validation btw, I find all validations interesting...

I was a teenager, maybe about 16 years old and had just finished reading Sylvan Muldoon's The Projection of the Astral Body, maybe a couple of days earlier. I was quite excited and determined to do this.
I awoke at about 10:00 am on the Saturday morning, and could distinctly hear my mother clumping about in the kitchen downstairs making the sort of noise designed to annoy a teenager trying to sleep in..... Yes she succeeded! But I just ignored it, relaxed, closed my eyes and "willled" myself with all my might to float upwards. I felt a floating sensation, then I was suddenly able to see. What i saw was the polystyrene ceiling tiles of my bedroom from a few inches away. It took me a few seconds to figure this out - it was quite a shock! I could still hear my mother clunking around, and then all of a sudden I was back in my body, rubbing my eyes. Got up inspected the ceiling tiles - yep that's how they look! I repeated this the next morning (sunday).
Since then I have learnt that the trick is NOT "willpower" - it's relaxation. Many times i have woken in the morning feeling quite relaxed and tried to "will" myself upwards. But all I succeed in doing is arching my back (physically) and I get nowhere. But if I R..E..L..A..X.. and simply allow myself to drift into the mind-awake-body-asleep state, i can just get up and walk away from my body...
I have no idea how I managed to OOB using "willpower" those first two times. I have never been able to "will" myself out since!
