16  Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Astral experiences! / Re: Aliens on: January 04, 2009, 03:42:31
Many of us have experiences that lead us to believe we might be going to other planets or regions of space, and have indeed come into 'contact' with appears to be nonhuman intelligences.  But I wouldn't swear it's extraplanetary life- just something else.  There are all sorts of possible explanations for our experiences, and it's always a good idea to keep our opinions and beliefs open.
As to 'how are they'?  I'm not sure.  It's too 'foreign' to what we're used to to make heads or tails of the experiences.

Is it me, or does this sound like advertising?
If he found this book in the library, why doesn't he just tell you the name and let you go get it?

The word 'illusion' doesn't mean 'doesn't exist', it means 'it isn't what we perceive'.

The pulling feeling (and extra heaviness) is actually common and needs to be worked through.  If you want to wait 'til a little later before trying an exit technique it might help- relaxation needs to be complete so your discomfort doesn't make you stop.  However, the actual amount of discomfort indicates (to me) that you're deep enough in trance to make the feelings more 'real'- an indication that you shouldn't give up until you either get out or pass out.

Yes, short ones.  But I've had better results projecting after I've listened to them, the same night or the next day.  Don't ask me why.   huh smiley
21  Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Astral experiences! / Re: The astral place where thoughts are formed... on: December 30, 2008, 01:30:03
IMO this is true of all aspects of creation, from the most abstract mental levels to the more material plane(what we call reality.) What makes the diff. is that the more 'material' the plane is, the more time and space are needed to manifest this creation.
I've been to areas in the astral where I've seen decaying thoughtforms, and I'd classify them in the mid to low astral, and I've never been sure if I created them myself or just visited someone else's creations. I have created a thing or two, and it was done differently- once I manifested a lawnmower (as homework in a teaching temple) by just thinking of it, and once I helped build a church in what seemed like a very verbal way-through a sort of astral telephone and directing others to do this or that.  I'm sure this means something (I'm bossy and opinionated?) but the place turned out nice.  cheesy
However, I'm not sure there is a 'location' perse- it's more of a state of consciousness.
Perhaps this is not what you mean, though.
22  Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to OBE discussions! / Re: ASTRAL HARSSMENT, STOPING PROJECTIONS on: December 30, 2008, 01:22:45
Hello, I have a question to ask, is it possible to astral project and stalk others. I know that there is a prescence around me, but I am wondering If it is possible for someone to astral project around you.
If this is the case is there a method for sending someone back to there bodies?
It's possible but highly unlikely.  People have setup wards around their houses and bedrooms subconsciously, and this manifests as protection in the astral.  So only a very deliberate, experienced and talented projector can do this, unless you have given them permission to 'invade' your space.
Like nickspry said, most 'presences' felt on the cusp of projection are dweller experiences, which are energy from your own projecting double or protective aspects of yourself that 'ring your danger bells' because you're not fully projected.
About other entities, not many are common in this case, so I wouldn't take it as that first off the bat.

hi i want to know if anyone has ever had any experiences with binaural beats when doing astral projection, so far i have only got to the vibration stage.

if you have please share (in detail if possible please)   thx.
I don't understand the question.  Listening to binaural beats while doing astral projection?  Or are you asking if anyone has projected while listening to them?
24  Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to OBE discussions! / Re: mind silence on: December 30, 2008, 01:15:38
hi iv been having so much trouble with my brain when trying to do astral projection let me explain

what i do is i put my headphones on (binaural beats) and relax and try to concentrate on my breathing but no matter what, images appear on my mind and i  end up trailing off.and im yet to experience a.p.

so can anyone help me here please

p.s. hope u all had a great christmas
If by images you mean flashes of images, they are hypnagogics and are part of going into trance.  You can use them to project or you can try to ignore them, but it's nothing to be concerned about.  If you mean mind chatter (that verbal thinking that happens without your conscious control) then you can try to observe them and not judge them, because actively trying to suppress them will only make it harder on you.  Eventually they will go away but not by fighting them.  Acknowledge them and let them go, don't try to shove them out.

Sorry, but evolutionary science states that reptiles and insects are less advanced, not more advanced.  That's why we have a neocortex and they don't.  You're saying the exact opposite of what science knows to make a point that has no basis in fact.

I disagree, "good" genetics in healthy animals are portrayed by thick coats, large antlers etc. There is a form of esthetics for the animal kingdom.

esthetics follows genetics, not the other way around.  This is basic science.
26  Astral Chat / Welcome to Astral Chat! / Re: Astral plane as "time machine" on: December 14, 2008, 18:07:55
Hey now, I didn't say that time didn't exist in the astral, i was just referring back to what he/she had once mentioned  tongue, basically what I was trying to point out is that if he/she thought time weren't "real" in the astral, maybe that's why they couldn't travel through it grin... I hope you find your answers  cheesy
I was agreeing with you.

I don't think you 'travel through time' to go back in time, 'cause you're already there, and in the future, and in the now, 'cause it's all the now, you just perceive it one change at a time.
So maybe you can observe the past (or the future) but you have to come to the physical to be able to affect it-and the only thing that can change from the physical is the future, it seems to me, since it stems from your actions.
Maybe that's why the 'many worlds' theory in physics just won't die, no matter how 'magicky' it sounds.

For more detailed info to complement what KiAura said, go to the Techniques section.  The variety is mind boggling, but after a few reads you'll get a good indication of what to do.

I love a good challenge.  Interesting theory, lots of flaws:

So basically my question is an opinion one:   Do you think that love is an evolutionary mechanism to help us disreguard physical appearance and create a partnership with people that have "less than desirable" genetic traits?
No, because love exists and has been observed as behaviour traits in animals that are not human, which don't have the concept of beauty.  So a baby gorilla will be as lovingly nurtured by the mother gorilla regardless of it's esthetics or symmetry (which seems to be how humans judge beauty, according to scientists), a baby alligator will live in it's mom's mouth for a long period of time (I think it's five weeks) without being eaten by her, and none of these animals have the concept of esthetics (and don't tell me that in this case maternal nurturing isn't love, because it invalidates your oxytocin argument)

Quote
Do you think that the feeling of connection between two average looking individuals is stronger than Brad pitt and Angelina? You know the saying "a face only a mother can love".
This depends on the individuals and Brangelina.  We don't know how commited they are to each other, but I've known lots of beautiful people who end up hating each other, while I've met 'plain' people who hated each other just as much.

And just as a matter of personal experience, I have a friend who is very beautiful (model beautiful) who has never been able to have a relationship last more than two or three years, because when the hormones (here it would be pherormones) wore off the boyfriends (and one husband) would get to know ther real her, and realize they didn't really want to spend the rest of their lives with her.

So I'd say that the idea of beauty (or healthy-gene-carrying appearance) works as an evolutionary trait, because good- looking people have more sex (and more opportunity to pass the genes to the next generation), but love wouldn't be, because it goes almost the opposite, and that would be against evolutionary success- the successful pairing of people that genuinely love each other guarantees that there won't be an interchange of genes except for that exclusive union, keeping gene recombining to a minimum, which is not good from the point of view of evolution.

ps.  My pretty friend is very lonely and very frustrated, because she never found the right guy.  So this shows that
a- pretty people have feelings just like not-pretty people
b- they are not necessarily any happier
c- they have more chances of reproducing and spreading out their genes (more sex with different partners)
d- people that have successful long standing emotionally rewarding (presumably) relationships have less chances of  spreading around their genes, so are at an evolutionary disadvantage.

29  Astral Chat / Welcome to Astral Chat! / Re: Astral plane as "time machine" on: December 13, 2008, 01:11:43
So..

Time it doesn't exist in astral plane, in the astral plane everything is an "eternal now", so it's possible travel back in time.
Actually it does exist, just differently.  Time isn't supposed to exist in the mental plane, because it's purely conceptual, but the astral has some sort of perceptual component, and perception presupposes distance (as KI Aura cleverly pointed out), and distance presupposes spatiality.  And since time is merely a measurement of change in space, time exists, although not like in the physical.  But time does exist.  That's why when you go to an astral plane and then come back, you can detect changes.  Because time has passed.  Just not physical time.  Astral time.

That's the problem with the mental plane, it's in the 'eternal now', while other methods of perception (or perceptual bodies) exist in a different phase than the mental body.  This makes it harder to access but easier to use.

30  Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Astral Consciousness! / Re: Astral travel help? on: December 04, 2008, 21:33:21
There's a technique thread in which everyone tells theirs.  I think mine is on the first page.  I'm pretty sure I posted a checklist of steps in order of what I do.
I'm not sure how detailed it is, but it goes something like this:
relaxation (progressive muscle relaxation, as described previously in this thread)
light energy work (tactile visualization)
breathwork (focusing on your breath, doing any pranayama you like)
trance work (using imagination to visualize going up, like in a hot air balloon, etc. or down, like going down steps)  Lots of different techniques to use, pick more than one and do them in succession, something going down, then something going up preferably.
At this point you should be fairly relaxed.
Then go to energy body loosening (a few methods are mentioned somewhere around here)
and after that settle into noticing, and if too alert, use the ear-hiss listening methods described here.
At some point you want to try an exit tech, after your trance is deep enough.

The point is not to try just one thing, but to do a routine that includes physical relaxation, meditation and trance techniques, to get you to the optimal state for projection.  Having a routine also trains your mind into recognizing a mindset to produce the trance automatically.

Good luck.
CF.
