31  Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to OBE discussions! / Re: My First Conscious Projections Were Accidental on: December 03, 2008, 15:38:16
Hmm I am going to disagree with you on this one Astral traveler, not to be a devils advocate. I disagree with you in the fact that we often forget our projections. There comes a point for me atleast where each experience is vivid enough to recall most of the details. I think there are ways to increase your dream recall too, such as buying a recorder, etc: which helps you get in the practice of remembering dreams/or OBE's. Some of my earlier experiences at the age of 16 I remember as clear as day. At the same time they were also spontaneous like yours and not planned by any means. Unfortunately they were not genuine experiences, as they were occuring when I was taking Ambien for my sleep problems. I did not have genuine experiences until after the age of 18 and even then it was a regressed versions of the ones i experienced at the age of 16.

I also learned how to willfully trigger them--but it also depends on what kind of day I want to have. Often if I project several times in one morning I will be mentally exhausted most of the day. I can have several OBE's each week, or I will not have any for a month or two. It depends on my schedule and what all is going on in my life.

I agree its important to be conscious of the astral projection. It is also very important to have a goal or intent for your experiences (which we discussed in a previous thread).  Once you get to a level where the first thing you do when OBE is recognize your OBE, then I would say you have exercised a level of consciousness which validates the experience itself.
I disagree with your initial assertions, kaos.  When you start projecting on purpose you're adding a different level of consciousness to an experience that is naturally unconscious.  The reason that you suffer more energetically when you consciously project is because it takes energy and brainpower to stay 'on' in this process.  So if you project spontaneously you will not have the drain you have when you work up a trance state and stay 'on' when the fun begins.
And if you do this long enough you find that you go to places that you know you've been before, because you retrieve the memories of the past visits when in the right frequency state, showing that there's lots of memories that are lost when the projections are unconscious.

Yep.  And voices.  And mechanical screeching.  And hurricane sounds.  And sounds like a chainsaw or lawnmower.  And walkie-talkie sounding voices too.

Sounds like you're not deep enough in trance.
Do you have a routine you do to get in trance?

Sounds like a 'dweller on the threshold' episode, of the teaching variety.
35  Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Astral experiences! / Re: Have you seen something like this? *pic inside* on: December 03, 2008, 15:27:01
Or posting them on a forum and letting others keep pumping energy into them.
I propose we 'boggart' them- make them into something funny and cute.  Maybe put braces on those teeth.

You're welcome.
37  Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to OBE discussions! / Re: Why we want to know about VIBRATIONS on: December 01, 2008, 22:24:03
There are many signposts that awareness is separating from the physical, not just vibrations. For me, the mind awake/body asleep is unmistakable. My perception changes. It's hard to describe - it can be subtle, yet definite. It no longer feels like I'm lying down with my eyes closed. During the transition my thoughts seem to "flatten out", it gets fuzzy for little bit like on the edge of falling asleep, but then it's like someone flips a switch. It's an unmistakable transition and I'm ready for my exit technique (I prefer "phasing"). Back in the earlier days I would get vibes through this transition, but not much any more.

It seems it's a little different for everyone though. I think all one can really do is keep practicing. Reaching a state of consciousness outside of your normal physical perception, whether OBE or not, is really the first big hurdle and important skill. Vibes tend to come on their own. Or not.

What I'm trying to say is that there's more than vibes to indicate your progress. Remaining passively observant of the entire process without expectations may benefit more than waiting for what you assume should happen.
I agree and this is what brings me to a 'common' (at least in the OBE community) conundrum- to not warn about vibrations invites people to fear OBE when they go through them- I can't count how many times people write posts reporting what are normal exit sensations with fear- fear of dying, fear of being possessed, etc.- all because they are not familiar with these sensations- and then when you do post and warn and try to describe all the possible things that seem scary but are not, then it causes people to look for these and limit their possibilities-or worse, give up when they don't happen 'as advertised'.
It's a tight rope we walk on-a slippery slope, the rock and the hard place, etc. Durned if you do, durned if you don't.  cheesy
38  2012 and the Maya / Welcome to 2012 and the Maya! / Re: This has happend before on: December 01, 2008, 22:16:07
But they said the world would end in the year 2000 and in 6/6/06 but it never did. I wonder if something will actually happen. This world does need to change though.

What has happened before?  I'm not understanding this whole thread.
39  Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to OBE discussions! / Re: Why can't I reach the Mind Awake/Body Asleep State? Help on: November 28, 2008, 23:42:54
I just woke up from attempting to OBE. I started at 2:00 PM. I started to relax myself. I inhaled and exhaled and pictured every part of my body relaxing. Nothing happend. I just kept getting sleepy and sleepy. I kept inhaling and exhaling and tried to relax myself. 50 minutes later at 2:50 PM my body was itching all over and it was very hot. I also became tired of laying in the same position for 50 minutes! I kinda gave up there because I don't think it would take 50 minutes to relax my body. I tried to lift up my hand and it was really heavy and then I tried to lift up my legs and also was very heavy. How do I relax my body until the point where I get the pre-projection signs like buzzing and vibrations. For 50 minutes that I was trying to reach the mind awake body asleep state nothing happens except my body gets really heavy.
Maybe you're the kind of person who just doesn't get vibrations.  So to lie there and wait for vibrations may not be the thing for you.  Maybe if you're laying there for 50 minutes, you should try to look for other symptoms, such as hypnagogics.  If your arms and legs are heavy it sounds like you are in trance.  Just try a variety of energy body loosening techniques, and try some 'noticing' plus listening to your ear hiss, and if you feel 'strange' in any way, go ahead and try a few exit techniques, see how it goes.  But don't wait for vibrations, because not everybody gets them.

Then I get tired of laying in the same position for so long and just gave up. I tried everything but no pre-projection signs -.-. Only way i've gotten close to an OBE was through a lucid dream. I have never gotten to the Mind Awake / Body Asleep state because everytime I try to relax my body nothing happens and I just get tired of being so still.

Also reguarding projecting in the morning I don't see how because when I wake up in the morning I have to go pee. My nose is also very stuffy and my back hurts sometimes. All of this would distract me from projecting so how do I project in the morning.
Do you have a comfy recliner you can put in your bedroom?  If you do, get up 2-3 hours before officiall 'get up' time, use the bathroom, blow your nose, then sit in the recliner and do a full-body circuit a few times.  It'll get you in trance in no time (It's actually what I did when I had back problems) and you can try your projection techniques then.  It worked so well it's now my "Official Projection Recliner"
40  Metaphysics / Welcome to Metaphysics! / Re: Clairvoyance or not? on: November 27, 2008, 03:05:31
No, clairvoyance means 'clear seeing'.  It can manifest in many ways- remote viewing is clairvoyance, seeing an object, whether it's there, somewhere else, or not there is clairvoyance.  Intuitive knowing of an object is psychometry, not clairvoyance.
41  Metaphysics / Welcome to Metaphysics! / Re: Clairvoyance or not? on: November 26, 2008, 15:20:41
I agree it sounds like clairvoyance.  However, if you get a standard sight every time you hear the same sound, or get the same image when you see the same person (as if each person had an 'assigned' color or texture or sound, etc. then it could be synesthesia.
However, your description sounds more like clairvoyance to me.
42  Metaphysics / Welcome to Metaphysics! / Re: Flash Thought on: November 26, 2008, 04:10:47
Looks like Remote Viewing to me.

i'm sorry, but i'm not quite familiar with your terminology.  what is RTZ?  are you referring to 'real time zone'?  and a 'dweller' is a psyche-manufactured illusion?  i believe in the existence of these things, but i'm not necessarily familiar with some of the terminologies.

RTZ=Real Time Zone

Dweller type of experience- When you have separated but haven't shifted consciousness yet, and you are sensing with your physical body, you will perceive your energy body, interpret it as a threat, feel fear, and it will respond to your fear by becoming what you're afraid of. It can be anything from a 'monster', 'intruder' or whatever else you've thought about that can cause fear. This is also known as "Old Hag", and nowadays "Alien Visitation". For some mysterious reason that I've never figured out, a lot of these dwellers have glowy red eyes. Why? Maybe some kind of evolutionary thing (fear of nocturnal animals) archetypal in nature. But, this is just a guess.
http://forums.astraldynamics.com/viewtopic.php?t=7304&highlight=dweller

Another version of the dweller phenomenon is that which is described by Kurt Leland in his book  Otherwhere, where he describes it as an aspect of self (not necessarily manufactured by the psyche, more like manifested by a protective aspect of the Higher Self) in which the Dweller acts as a Gatekeeper that keeps you from projecting when it's not to your best interest (for whatever reason it may be).  The dweller here is an archetypal figure, and your experience with it may be 'negative' in the point of view of perception, but ultimately it is for an ultimately beneficial reason, be it protective or educational.

It is my personal opinion that all of the above are correct at times- that is that sometimes you get an energetic feedback effect, some other times you get the gatekeeper  (and I have had dealings with that one, and actually learned something from it, at the time, even though it was not fun) and sometimes it's a good (or bad) ol' fashioned neg.

44  Dreams / Welcome to Dreams! / Re: Regarding The Fear Of Sleep Paralysis In The Presence Of Unwanted Entities on: November 25, 2008, 20:02:27
certainly, we may sometimes create these, but how would you know whether this is always the case or not?  i believe that there are many astral entities within the astral planes, don't you?
Well, dweller experiences in sleep paralysis happen in the RTZ only, and you test by trying to project to it.  Like I said before, if it's a dweller you'll reintegrate to it, which is what's happened  every time I've done it.  If you're not separated enough to be able to do it, wiggle your toe, and you'll break paralysis.  Getting up and moving around is enough to make it go away.
The negative entities that I've encountered have never been in that state (paralysis), they've been in the RTZ after separation, and I've just flown away from them, no problem.  Technically astral wildlife that is talked about (as in the 'fluffing up' phenomenon found in wild animals) indicate this is a fear response- so projecting to them will cause them to go away when their bluff is called.
I know this sounds scary, but I've been projecting for over 40 years and I've never been hurt in the RTZ by a dweller while in paralysis.
The only damage I've sustained in all that time is fear of the unknown.
45  Dreams / Welcome to Dreams! / Re: Regarding The Fear Of Sleep Paralysis In The Presence Of Unwanted Entities on: November 25, 2008, 15:28:32
Dweller phenomena are not usually independent entities- most of the time they are your own partially projected double causing energy feedback, and the best way to get rid of them is to project towards them, not away from them.
I do this all the time and it works.

If sleep paralysis is a problem, wiggling my big toe always works for me, when I can remember to do it.
