51  Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Re: Any way to change your unique method of APing? on: January 23, 2015, 16:48:34
There are teachers following and guiding your progress...that possibility takes some getting used to.

What I find more and more is that I may go into a meditation with one method planned but I make the shift via a method that I don't think came from me but rather a helper (in the form of intuition). For example I would never have thought exiting would occur by mentally moving by non-physical hands upwards. That's it. No other part of my body. When that came to me I just did it without analysing and it worked. Similarly the notion to simply imagine falling backwards from a standing position came in an insight which no way would I logically before an exercise think yeah im gonna try that...I think it could work well.

So I think there is this constant evolution of methods you adopt with maybe a nudge from the other side.

First house I moved into with some college mates, we had a friendly young lady of a ghost from the 19th century watching over and protecting the house. Coolest place I ever lived just by the ambience she provided.

I'll have to write up that story sometime...

At TMI there is one room which has an entity residing in it. Seems to like some people more than others. I spent 2 weeks in the room on my own but didn't realize at the time. Woke up in the night and something was next to me in bed with its arm over me (like it was spooning me). Turns out it quite liked me (evidently) but it has been reputed to punch some people during exercises.
53  Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Astral Projection Experiences! / Re: Meeting strange man everytime I have sleep paraysis/obe on: January 19, 2015, 23:30:38
Of late I've noticed a man who waits in the hall by my bedroom. I'm ashamed to say when I first noticed him fear must have kicked in at the sight of an unknown entity in my house and i shouted. He ran into the toilet to hide from me. I then acknowledged my overreaction and realised he was more scared of me.

The following few times I saw him he was terrified of me and I have been slowly trying to show him I just want to help him. It's slow going. I have his name but he is reticent to give much else up. My intuition tell me he needs retrieving but this isn't a grab and drop in 27 run but rather something that requires a more thoughtful approach.

Parts of my house are over five hundred years old so there's a good chance he was a former resident. A while back I was lying in bed aware of a Victorian maid standing over me saying I needed more blankets as it was cold and nurturing me so there is definitely some history still present in the property.

As soon as I fall asleep I get A horrible buzzing in my head and I am sucked so fast out of my body that I think I am going to go so far that I wont get back.

Referred to as a cannonball exit Smiley
55  Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Re: Anyone been to Focus 27? on: December 14, 2014, 04:45:11
I think perhaps you've read too many stories about what you should experience in these states. Although Bob Monroe went OoB he never did it with hemi-sync so you can't really look at Bobs experiences for comparison (you shouldn't do that with anyone really).

You seem to have got hung up on this notion that to experience something you must have no body awareness. This is not strictly necessary with hemi-sync. Many people have wonderful experiences while the whole time being aware of their bodies.

A while back I wrote a post about a website of a guy who does simple meditation exercises that really help get your mindset correct for consciousness exploring. No body replied to the post so I assume it wasn't to people's taste or they are alll spiritual masters already. I personally think you would benefit a lot from it simply because a lot of what you just wrote resonates with how I was a while back. Somewhere along the line through a combination of reading too many anecdotal accounts and my own failures I got stuck in a cycle of focusing too much on the body because I was trying too hard not to focus on it.

Look for my post called 'My two cents'. I really recommend the exercises the guy called Peter Russell does. Whenever I have dry spells and get frustrated I go back to his exercises because it puts me back in the right mental frame set to do this
56  Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Astral Consciousness! / Re: Monroe Gateway Experience question on Focus 10 on: December 09, 2014, 12:44:44
I totally get where you're coming from. Just take it with a pinch of salt though. My recollection of that article places emphasis on losing all body sensations in 10. I know a number of TMI facilitators who refer to focus 10 as mind awake/body 'relaxed' now because not everyone needs full loss of bodily sensations to start exploring.

In fact they tell you you can move around in these states because they are not that delicate.
57  Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Astral Consciousness! / Re: Past Life Experience: 8/12/14 on: December 09, 2014, 02:30:47
I'm always intrigued by crystals and their properties. You seem to resonate particularly with this one with some interesting experiences. Can you tell me more about the crystal? All I know is it comes North Carolina.
58  Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Astral Consciousness! / Re: Monroe Gateway Experience question on Focus 10 on: December 06, 2014, 18:00:27
Any thought during an exercise like "am I there yet" is only going to work against you. People experience focus 10 in many different ways and you may experience varying degrees of it. You can be in focus 10 while walking around just like you can be in it with no sensation of your physical body.

I would personally forget anything you've ever read on the subject and just trust the hemi-sync and your own experiences. If you keep reading up on how people experience you will only compare and when you don't experience what others do you will get disappointed.

Personally I would say forget everything. Just let go and trust the experience. Only my opinion though.

If I could go back to the start of my spiritual path the one thing I would do differently is not to read anecdotal evidence of people's experiences. Sure it can act as mental saturation and may even bring about a few spontaneous OBEs but it will definitely create expectation in you that you may not meet. This is wholly detrimental to your progress. Am I there yet? Shouldn't I be experiencing this? That person did? Why can't i?

Let go
59  Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Re: Strange Night for the whole family .. on: December 05, 2014, 13:24:21
If I can offer another concept for you to consider...

Have you done any Shamanic work? As I was reading your story my first thought was of spiritual emergence. Initially kundalini with the references to spontaneous energy surges but then that normally starts at the root chakra. When you mentioned demons and the horns etc.. I started to think possibly a spiritual emergency of the shamanic variety.

When I was training to be a meditation facilitator I read The concept of spiritual emergency by Christina and Stanislav Grof. I quote..."the core experience of the shamanic journey is a profound encounter with death and the subsequent rebirth. Initiatory dreams and visions include a descent into the underworld under the guidance of demons and ancestral spirits and exposure to unimaginable tortures..."

Not very nice you might think. The article goes on to talk of ascent to the higher regions as the second part if the journey. You go from death to rebirth

But just to be clear - this is ultimately supposed to be a positive experience just like how kundalini rising can be unpleasant initially but ultimately rewarding. Were the songs you heard of a tribal/shamanic nature?

If this resonates with how you perceived your experience I can always forward you the article

Obviously this is just one possibly among many

61  Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Re: Anyone been to Focus 27? on: December 03, 2014, 18:40:39
While it's important for people to experience reality personally before forming conclusions... I would just like to say that my entire beef (now) with the Focus models we have is that experience is personal and you simply can't have another person's experience.  This knowledge (which as far as I'm concerned, is FACT) kinda blows a huge hole in any Focus model... or any model that anyone comes up with, including my own.

For myself, the Focus models were a great help in providing me with a "guide"... it's just important to realize that a guide isn't rule, and the guide, in this case, doesn't really exist either.  I've since moved past needing them since they simply don't fit what I have experienced in the non-physical.

The moral of the story here is don't get hung up on labels.  Eventually, you need to progress past using other people's labels... or you will just get yourself stuck.

And you are exactly right. They serve as an anchor point to help you initially to reach certain states. They are the training wheels until you are ready to explore more
62  Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Re: Anyone been to Focus 27? on: December 03, 2014, 14:22:11
I can talk of focus 27. I've attended both Lifeline and Exploration 27 courses at TMI.

Some interesting comments in this thread. I talk only from my own experiences..27 seems both objective and subjective in nature as in people tend to experience very similar things with just minor differences (maybe based on their individual beliefs). For example someone may see the library as a huge Roman style building while others perceive it as as a modern all glass affair. For me it's the former.

27 is seen as the rest and recovery area for people (not just humans) after physical incarnation. Soarin makes an interesting comment about the hospital. At X27 you spend a lot of times exploring the healing and regeneration center where you may find people who still cling on to their physical ailments after they pass because it affected them so strongly. That's just one e.g. though. I often to take my pets and family members there who have been ill (those who are still alive, that is.

The park is what is commonly associated with focus 27. Personally, I have never experienced it. I have been to the healing center and the library but for some reason not the park (I put this down to having listened to the Going Home series a lot early in my experiences. In it Bob frontloads you as you get to 27 by telling you what the park looks like. I've never responded well to frontloading).

I think 27 is an important place to become familiar with especially in regard to our own deaths. In the Lifeline program you are encouraged to create you own special place in 27. This is seen as an anchor to help you get there.

Also it serves as a place to bring retrieved souls. I have a number of my former pets at my special place (We had one of cats called Blackie put down over the weekend and prior to it I agreed with one of my other cats, called Kippy, who passed over several years ago who resides in 27 to pick him up and bring him back to 27. On the morning after Blackie passed I was a little depressed to meditate and go look but just thinking about it I got a very clear visual scene appear in which Blackie was sitting next to Kippy staring at me. Interestingly he looked vital and his fur was fresher like a young cat. This gave me peace of mind. I hope to see him soon when I next go up to 27).

However, I think most importantly it is an anchor for when you die so you don;'t get stuck yourself. You can set your intent for your special place so you don't get stuck in 23 or maybe the BST.

Someone asked about where 27 in regard to etheric, mental planes etc.. From my experience it is not as high as the mental planes but just fringing it. If you take the Starlines programs at TMI this deals with focus 34-49 which is more about the mental planes. I've done a few exercises in focus 34 but I don't think I was ready for them yet. All in good time I suppose.
63  Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Re: need serious answer on: December 01, 2014, 15:03:52
I would personally watch this Bill Buhlmans talk

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZlZNmwCD1pA

For me the content of what you talk about doesn't matter. The fact is it's a belief (and now a fear) not a personal known. Bill says we have to systemically remove all of our beliefs because they are almost all flawed. Even our most fundamental beliefs (that we are physical human beings). You have to go and find out for yourself but not through the filters of your beliefs. You have to purge as many of your beliefs as possible. A belief is nothing but a box that restrains and confines your experience (in the physical and non-physical).

I realise this is quite a task to undertake but I now try and filter everything I take in on a daily basis and take nothing as fact unless I personally experience it without the filters of belief.

One quick anecdote from when I first started out - I remember reading lots of stuff about the dweller on the threshold, the old hag etc.. I embraced these beliefs and predictably when I managed to get OoB I would invariably have an aggressive entity in the room with me. When I read further about beliefs and fears affecting your experiences I never experienced anything like that again.
64  Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Astral Consciousness! / My two cents on: October 14, 2014, 14:40:35
Having gone through the fourms quite a lot over the years I've noticed certain trends in people's approaches to getting OoB - namely that a number of people rush into OB techniques without learning certain key mental concepts and exercises first then wonder why they never seem to get anywhere and ultimately get frustrated. A bit like constructing a building without laying the necessary foundations.

Typical things I see in threads are..."well I think my body feels relaxed. Am I relaxed enough? Am I thinking to much? I can't really feel my legs anymore but I can sense my arms...at what point am i supposed to roll out?...Am I there yet?...should I feel this at that stage...etc...." This may apply to you. It may not.

I don't personally think there's one specific technique that will work right off the bat for most people. I think over time you tailor a method to what works best for you so I'm not about to spam you with a revolutionary new OBE technique guaranteed success. It doesn't exist.. But what I do think is that a correct mental attitude is one of the most key things to going into meditation or OBE practice. I get the impression from a number of people who aren't successful they are going in blind, latching on to an OBE technique that sounds cool and going with it and hoping for the best.

So my personal tip is Peter Russell. He offers a short donation only course (pay $1. If you love it pay $20. Whatever suits you). First off, that tells you that this guy is not out to make money. But that's irrelevant because you can very quickly tell if someone knows their stuff and he is very wise. The course is all about letting go...of everything. It's okay to make mistakes in meditation. Just accepting it all as part of the process.

You won't get out of body on this course but it will mentally place you in a far better position for what you do afterwards and probably ultimately save you a lot of wasted OBE practice time further down the line.

Ah, that makes sense.  Oh well.  Smiley

Isn't this Tom's first return to TMI in a very long time?  Or even since he split ways with them?

I guess so. Don't know really. Pretty sure he hasn't been a trainer there since the 70's or 80's. He's done presentations but I don't think anything else.
66  Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Astral Consciousness! / Re: Tom Campbell Workshop on: September 30, 2014, 13:31:40
Oh that's excellent!  I wonder if they'll have it available as a video afterwards.  Smiley

No sadly it won't work like that. It's like all their courses it will be largely practical - I guess it will use hemi-sync as Tom guides you through various meditations but I guess the emphasis will be on his model of reality
67  Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Astral Consciousness! / Tom Campbell Workshop on: September 30, 2014, 09:51:56
Looking through TMI's new programs for next year I see they have got Tom Campbell to do a My Big TOE workshop. Very cool

By the look of it it doesn't seem to be a one of either. That would be awesome if he was a regular trainer again at TMI

70  Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Re: BINAURAL BEATS GENERAL on: September 11, 2014, 12:38:09
The binaural beats that have been around the longest and is the most well known is hemi-sync.

I will be slightly biased in my assessment here as I am affiliated with the Monroe Institute but I will say a few words about hemi-sync. What you generally find with binaural beat products (I can't really comment on the above examples as i have not tried them) but you often find they generally use one tone and pound you with that for 30 minutes. For example they will start in beta and take you down to around 5hz theta and just leave you (and often times the don't even bother to bring you back up to beta leaving you very ungrounded afterwards).

When Bob Monroe was developing Hemi-sync in the 1970s with Tom Campbell and Dennis Mennerich they realised that if they blended a variety of frequencies they could get better results. So for example a strong theta signal with some delta and a dash of alpha for good measure.  Some hemi-sync products contain over 30 different tones blended.
71  Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Re: Tried to do something productive for once instead of just flying around on: September 10, 2014, 10:23:15
I think most people on here who stay with it long enough at some point come to the same conclusion you just did - that there may be more important things to do than flying around. I personally think that when you mentally reach that state it opens up a lot more for you. After all are we not all here to expand our consciousness, to self improve. I think the more you do things like question these states and may be offer your services (e.g. retrieval work) you will open yourself up to a whole lot more. Guidance will be more prevalent in your experiences because they want what you do which is of course to expand your consciousness.

73  Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / another reason for wearing an eye mask on: September 03, 2014, 15:21:01
Just wanted to add a new take on the benefits of wearing an eye mask. Obviously it has the benefit of sensory deprivation but I found another very good use of an eye mask. To illustrate my point I will mention an example.

I am non-physically standing at the foot of my bed. This time there were no vibrations. I simply stood up like I would physically. I try to walk through the wall but this time it feels pretty solid so I use the door. Standing at my front door I look down to see I am just in my underpants. I am just about to step outside when I realise I have doubts as to whether I really am in the non-physical or this is just the physical. Sometimes it can be hard to tell especially in the initial stages when things can be a little hazy. What if this is the physical and I'm just about to step outside in my underpants. I can't risk it. I have to go back to the bed. And it is only when you get into bed and realign that you realise you were OoB all along but the seeming lack of disparity between the two realities causes you to end a perfectly good OBE for fear of your neighbours ridiculing your pants.

But if I am wearing a sleep mask before my projection attempt I can mentally quiz myself about any doubts I have about wondering outside. "I lay down with an eye mask on. Therefore if I have perception right now then this is definitely an OBE no matter how similar it may appear to be to the physical. If this was the physical I would just see the blackness of the eye mask"

Simple but useful.
74  Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Re: Hollow Earth = The earth inside earth! on: September 01, 2014, 13:20:45
I think there will be a certain amount of subjectivity with what people see inside the core of the earth. I have attended TMI's X27 program which guides you into the earth core and a predominant theme that comes through is that of a huge crystalline structure. There seem to be many intelligences down there as there are everywhere throughout the universe.

On one of the exercises I asked to explain the significance of Stonehenge and what I saw was a huge energy vortex or portal under the stones that descended downward to the core of the earth and the crystal structures that are there.
75  Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Astral Projection Experiences! / Re: I have vibrations every night but can't leave body on: August 19, 2014, 14:01:44
The solution I suggest is a long term solution and not an instant technique.  I wouldn't define a tunnel as interesting. It gets much better than that.

My 'interesting' was referring to your method not my tunnel. But I beg to differ. My tunnel has pink flashing neon lights and a small rodent petting area. Doesn't get any better than that.

I do agree with you that heart centric exercises should be a staple of meditative practices. It opens you up in a lot of ways, has great healing potential, significantly help how you view and interact in the physical world and so much more.
