Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Was this progress?

Hi all! Last night I listened to this really intense Theta meditation tape by Zygon (bought on Ebay). If any of you are having trouble getting into a deep trance, I suggest you look for this product. Within 10 minutes my body was completely numb and began to vibrate. Anyway, soon after I noticed a feeling in my legs which I assumed was my astral lifting up. It felt like a layer of me was slowly lifting, from my toes to my thighs. I can only compare to an onion being peeled. I looked to see if I could see anything different, but then realized that my head wasn't astrally detached . For you experienced OBEers, did I partially separate? I have been meditating every night for nearly 4 months, and have never felt this sensation. I felt really light in the legs. Also, this feeling radiated to my hands, but at that point I was so overwhelmed I turned the tape off and went to sleep. Will try again tonite! Your input is appreciated! Thanks! -Debbi[ ]

Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / OBE attempt muscle cramps
|
on: February 17, 2003, 02:21:59

Hello all, I have been getting closer to having an actual OBE, and decided to start experimenting with moving my astral arms first. When my body gets completely numb and starts to vibrate I concentrate on moving them. It feels like I am getting somewhere, but then all I experience is heaviness and a lot of resistance to movement. Like I am trying to move and some force is keeping my arms down. Last night I did this for a while, and this morning woke up with cramps in my arms, feels like I was lifting weights! Aside from wondering if anyone else has felt like this, I also would like to know how I'll know if I am moving my astral arms. I assume there is a sensation of lightness and my physical arms wouldn't be tired afterward. Is that correct? I don't remember moving my physical arms last night, but perhaps I inadvertantly tensed my muscles (although I was completely relaxed)? Any info. is appreciated! Thanks! -free[ ]

Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Vibrations during the day
|
on: December 16, 2002, 15:54:01
|
Hello all, I was wondering if any of you have experienced the vibrations associated with OBEs during the day, while awake and not in the pre-OBE relaxed state. Ever since I have begun my OBE "quest" (for lack of a better term!), I find that my feet seem to be vibrating/tingling at different times during the day, and many times other body parts. Is it possible that once you open the door to experiencing an OBE, that you permanently change your body's vibrational rate? Any thoughts on this subject are much appreciated. Thanks! -free http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile_shy.gif" border=0>

Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Advice for the beginner
|
on: December 08, 2002, 00:00:56
|
Hello everyone,
Since it seems many of you are experienced in having OBEs, I was wondering what the best method is to have one. What advice would you give the beginner? What do/did you do to overcome any fear of the experience? I am so interested in seeing what it's like to fly out of my window and explore new places, but at the same time it scares me. Is it normal to feel this way?
Thank you in advance!

Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Astral Projection Experiences! / Did I project ?
|

Hi ] I wish I had the answer for you but I have yet to project . However, I wanted to add that you gave me an excellent idea that may help with my attempts. I have been trying to move body parts while in the vibrational stage, but next time I'll just THINK about moving them. Maybe I'll have the success you've had! By the way, I am not an expert by any means, but seems to me you did have an actual OBE, not a dream. Best of luck and THANKS! ] -Debbi

Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Involuntary eye movement & Commentating while.....
|

Hi there, I can't really give any insight into the eye fluttering, although it has happened to me on occassion. Generally I try to look up and focus on my "third eye" when in a relaxed state. Maybe if you do this your eyes won't move as much. Regarding the inner conversation you have, that was a huge "problem" for me early on, because it interfered with my concentration. I kept thinking so much about wanting to get vibrations, what was happening to my body, etc., I couldn't focus. What I have recently tried is counting to at least 100 while I am deep breathing. This activity keeps my mind occupied on something other than my physical state, while I get deeply relaxed. After the counting, I generally mentally state my intention to OBE, and note if there are any vibrations in any body part. If so, I try to magnify those feelings and move them throughout my body. Seems to be working! Hope this was also helpful! Deb[ ]

Very cool replies, thanks! When you said you have looked at your astral body parts (fingers, arms, etc), was this through closed eyes? I think that is fascinating! So perhaps my physical body still has a strong attachment to my astral. I need more practice. Zarklon, you asked about sensations prior to vibrations. After about 10 minutes of relaxation, I feel totally numb and heavy. I can usually see patterns and other things floating past my closed eyes. I lose sense of my body and seem to go deep into my thoughts. Sometimes I feel I am floating. Depending on how late at night it is, I may get very sleepy and find it hard to concentrate, but I usually keep up with it for at least an hour or so. Sometimes it takes me 5 minutes to feel some vibes, and sometimes it takes 1/2 hour. I am working on making that timeframe more consistent. Hope this helps! -free[ ](Debbi)

Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Vibrations during the day
|

Hey Ralph, I haven't had an OBE yet, but I've experienced everything but the actual separation (kind of like doing everything physically possible but actually having sex http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile_blush.gif" border=0>) I do have a large quantity of crystals around me all day which may account for all the vibes, I seem to be incredibly sensitive to crystals. However, as I practice with OB stuff, I find that I am more sensitive to vibrations and feel them more intensely during the day. Maybe it's just me experiencing this phenomena. Whatever it is, it's pretty cool, gives me more incentive to keep trying! -free

Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Is it our responsibility to spread OBE?
|
on: December 17, 2002, 19:05:51

It is a great responsibility, I agree. You kind of want to scream out to the world, "This does exist, and we all can use it to further ourselves and to help others." But I do believe that if you have been able to experience this gift, that you will innately know when to share it. Personally, I seem to come across people at different times in my life who I know are open to metaphysical discussions. It's with those people that we should share our views, and perhaps eventually more of humanity will become open-minded, as people tell others, and so on.

Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / What was this feeling?

Hi Zarklon, I TOTALLY understand what you are talking about. It happened to me last night. I wish I could answer your question about being astral or not, but I can certainly empathize. I got to a point of seeing stars shooting past my eyes and I felt like I was about to start floating, and I thought, "Yea, this is it!" but then I must have dozed off for a second and then tried to recapture the stars, but it just wasn't the same. Then my cat started scratching itself and I lost my concentration, ugh! I told myself, although I desperately wanted to roll over and go to sleep, to give it another try, and I did get somewhere, but eventually lost my strength and fell asleep. It takes A LOT of brainpower and concentration to have an OBE. I thought it would be much easier, but now I believe that I have to practice at it, and eventually I'll get the hang of it. When I get tired, I usually go to sleep and look forward to trying again tomorrow. Good luck!! -free http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile.gif" border=0>

Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Is it our responsibility to spread OBE?
|

Hi Sly Even though I haven't fully experienced an OBE as of yet, I am intensely (and that is putting it mildly) interested in the subject and have been reading as much as I can. Just the interest alone makes me want to go out and talk to others about it, but I've only told a selected few. I haven't even told my husband, who's used to my nutty behavior and ideas. In the book I'm reading, "Adventures Beyond the Body," William Buhlman describes the ability to go to your "nonphysical body" as the next step in human evolution, a very heavy subject. I believe that people will embrace the subject when they are ready to, just as many of us have felt an intense need to explore the nonphysical side of ourselves at a certain period in our lives. We need to use common sense about who to tell. I think some people will always think it's crazy, some will be curious, and some will experience OBEs on a regular basis. Sad to say, but I don't think most humans are ready to embrace OBEs, no matter how well they're described. But maybe it is up to the "enlightened ones" to spread the word at a later date, when the world is more ready. Just my thoughts........ -free

Hi!
Interesting that you mention William Buhlman as I am right in the middle of reading, "Adventures Beyond the Body." What a cool book! Very inspiring and easy to read. Have you always used his technique? I haven't had a full OBE yet, but soon I hope. I think the methods he mentions are excellent, not to mention his wonderful insight on this experience. Has he influenced you a lot?

Great insight Furix, thanks!
It's really interesting how these discussions are perfectly natural here in this forum, but outside can be seen as crazy. I wish more people were open to these experiences, as they seem to be a part of our existence. We can tap into them if we believe we can. It does irritate me when people don't believe in AP, but I guess to each his own. For me, when I do have my first OBE, it will validate feelings that I've had since I was a child, of being part of something bigger than myself. I can't wait to explore like many of you have. If simply enthusiasm was enough to produce an OBE, I'd already be there (*smile*) I will keep you updated, and appreciate the time everyone has taken to address my questions. It's great to know you are so willing to help!

I am so glad I found this forum! Frank, thanks for the expert advice. I always thought if I "snapped out" of things I wouldn't be able to go back and achieve anything. So I will just keep trying little by little. ............. Sly, your encouragement really affected me. It's great to know that you understand where I am coming from. This is not a topic that I can discuss with many. I can't wait til the time I can post about a successful OBE. I feel it will be life-altering, I just hope it won't take too long until I have one (I will try to be patient!) How long did it take you? And do you have a destination in mind when you try to project? Thanks! -free

Thank you all for being so supportive. I will read everything on this site. I guess my biggest fear has been the sensations I feel when trying to have an OBE, but it seems like I should just ignore these feelings and concentrate on getting out. Since I have no frame of reference about what it's like to be out, it's hard to get past these feelings and look forward to what will happen next. I do have another question. Can some of you tell me how having OBEs have affected your lives? No, I am not writing a book I am just interested in what the OBEs have done to change your perspective about life/death/why we are all here. I feel like at this point in my life I am being drawn to this OBE experience, and am wondering what impact it may have on my "regular" life. I very hesitant to tell my husband that I have been trying to "fly out of my body", as I think he'll try to institutionalize me! Thank you again! -free
