Thanx for replying. Regarding flying --
Flight is a skill that I have been VERY Fortunate to control while out of body. Flight is a Great thrill (if done correctly). I heartily recommend that you use affirmations with the intent to achieve outdoor flight during your next OBE. It is a worthwhile goal. And if you are able to fly, even if you go nowhere in particular, then at least you can hone and improve your flight skills during your next OBE.

About obstacles- an ability to go through a solid object while OOB seems to primarily depend on both the clearness of the conciousness and the motivation for getting around (or through) the obstacle. I am not an expert but have read a LOT of OBE accounts and have noticed a definate trend regarding obstacles. Physical objects and energy fields are harder to overcome when a person is either a) confused b) highly emotional or scared and c) when lacking energy.
Conversely those obstacles are much more easily overcome when the OBE'er is focused, motivated and charged with energy.
Of course this is only a generalization but this is true for me as well.

Flying is -- simply put -- a  BLAST There is no other sensation quite like it. 
Of course not all of my flights have been picture perfect. During one OBE I inverted head down and feet up while in flight. I started to slowly lower toward an alley 20 feet below. I tried everything to go upright again, including flapping my arms like a bird. Nothing worked. I landed on the pavenment head first and that ended the OBE.   Oh well. lol 

Regarding your frequency of projecting -- have you tried hemisync tapes or a brainwave generator ? About one month ago I purchased a hemisync CD (From Monroe Products (TMI)). Even without headphones I have had 3 OBEs in 3 weeks whereas before listening to that CD my last projection was back in March. That could be only coincidence but probably not.

If your vision is hazy in a future OBE(s) try asking for "Clarity Now" (or "Better Vision" or something like that). Many people report that using those (or other) Affirmations immediataly improve vision And enhance consciousness when out of body.

Yes, barriers seem to take several forms including --

1) psychic fields deliberately created to ensure privacy.

2) energy fields, like Faraday cages and high voltage power lines. (Robert Monroe described several experiences with these.) and

3) physical objects including trees, doors, walls and windows. Usually these physical barriers can be overcome with forethought and effort. However, during my OBEs I had no plan of action or intent once OOB. So when I encountered the trees I found them much more formidable than they should have been.
In other words If I had a stronger motive to go over/get around those trees then I would have managed to do it. That may sound odd yet many people find simple barriers like doors and walls completely unpassable when OOB unless they have a strong motive to overcome them. Remember in the astral/ethereal realm thoughts are of prime importance. So lack of intent (= thought) means that all obstacles are harder to overcome.

Both OBEs occured Wednesday, July 16, 2008
I have numbered and titled them ---
 #79 a and b "Clearly Out Of Body Twice"

Became conscious in the hypnagogic state and this included vibrations and sleep paralysis. Consciousness was not sharp at first yet I soon realized that it was a perfect opportunity to go out of body. So I tried to induce an OBE. And tried. And tried. And tried. For several minutes I just could not do it.
Then --- Finally Success ! I lifted directly up and out of my physical body. Almost immediately upon being OOB I attempted to go outside through a large window. This also proved to be very hard to do. It took several attempts before I was flying, hovering actually, about 20 - 30 feet up just outside the house. Here I started to lose it. After (mentally) fighting like hell to stay OOB I slipped back inside the house through the window. My physical body was only a few feet away. This was too close. I reintegrated and the OBE was over.

OBE #79b  Only moments after the first OBE ended the vibrations returned and were very strong. This time the separation was fast and easy. This time I found myself downstairs on the first floor back porch. I simply walked right out the back door (which was open though it was closed in the physical).
There I stood on the backyard deck. Suddenly a Japanese samurai sword appeared in my hands. (I had watched part of "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon", including the beautiful flying and fighting scenes, last night.)
So I lifted up off the deck into the night sky.. Yet after going no more than 20 feet up I was obstructed by several large trees. I tried to avoid these trees but to no avail. They proved to be an unavoidable barrier that prematurely ended the OBE.
Notes -- Consciousness during both these OBEs was sharp and mostly crystal clear. This was quite unlike the dream-like state of a projection nearly two weeks ago. The time was between 3:00 and 3:30 AM. Duration of OBE #79a was 3 - 5 minutes, #79b was only 1 or 2 minutes. I lay on my right side.
Both OBEs were in Locale I, a familiar location. There were no persons or beings encountered. Both OBEs were Deliberate, had Sleep paralysis and Vibrations and Flight. I had Meditated earlier that night and had done extensive Pranayama during the day. The second OBE was Short and included a Barrier.

If the discarnate "Scott' who you conversed with in your OBE did Not have a silver cord it May mean that he was permanently discarnate (= dead).
However, since few people report seeing or feeling their silver cord during an OBE then Scott might just as well be a living person who was also having an OBE.

Some of the older 'classic' books on OBE discuss the silver cord (Muldoon, Monroe). Yet actually few people report having a silver cord while out of body. In the online OBE survey that I did a couple years ago that percentage of people reporting a silver cord while OOB was less than 10 %.
Interestingly there have been many reports of the cord recently. I don't know if that current surge of silver cord reports is a statistical aberation of if it represents something fundamentally significant??

My best guess is that 'Far Journeys' has at least one account of Monroe's experiences in a Focus 27 area.

Focus 27
Focus 27 is the Afterlife area of greatest free will choice for its inhabitants. It's an area created by humans and often resembles physical earth environments. It is a highly organized and structured area. There are Centers of activity here providing for the needs of human beings in their continuing development in the Afterlife. In my explorations, I've found Centers for: Education, Life Review, Health and Rejuvenation, Planning, Scheduling, Rehabilitation, Humor, and many others. These Centers also coordinate activities in the physical world to assist in human development.

Focus 24, 25 and 26
The Belief System Territories
Inhabitants of The Belief System Territories are attracted to specific locations by Afterlife beliefs they held while physically alive. Every set of Afterlife beliefs held by humans at any time has a specific location with these Focus levels. In a sense, Belief System Territory inhabitants are stuck like those in Focus 23. The difference is that they are not isolated from contact with others. All inhabitants of a specific Territory are in contact with all others sharing their beliefs. Contact with anyone holding conflicting beliefs is severely limited. Free will choices here are restricted to only those compatible with the prevailing beliefs. Some of these areas look like Heavens, some look like Hells. Each one is rigidly structured around the beliefs held by the inhabitants. In my experience, it is extremely difficult to move people from this area to areas of greater free will choice.

 

Focus 22
Within Focus 22 we often find those perhaps still physically alive who are in an unconscious state. These include people in comas, in drug induced states, who are dreaming, who are insane or deranged. This is a very chaotic level.
Focus 23
In Focus 23, the human inhabitants tend to be those no longer physically alive who have become "stuck" for one reason or another. Often they are confused about or unaware of their death. Many here attempt to maintain contact with the physical world around familiar people or places. These are the ones we call ghosts. Focus 23 inhabitants are stuck because they are unable to leave through their own resources. The range of their free-will choices is extremely narrow. They are typically alone and completely isolated from communication with other humans. This can occur through the circumstances of their death or habitual patterns of thinking prior to death.[/quote

Though I have never been there it appears that you were in a reception area of a focus 27 Locale.
As described by Robert Monroe, Robert Bruce and Bruce Moen the areas of focus 27 are meeting places where discarnates (dead and OBE) congregate. Bruce and Moen have both described different areas of Focus 27 locales that include reception centers, meeting halls, learning classrooms, parks, healing centers and much more.

One common function of a Focus 27 reception center is to orientate newly arrived dead people to their new state of existence. Apparently many newly dead are quite confused and need a lot of attention by guides to acclimate them to the superphysical realm.

Douchan Gersi was filming a documentary in Afghanistan in 1979 when the Soviets invaded. He had several close calls before escaping the country.
Gersi also made a documentary about primitive head-hunters in Borneo.
So he obviously does has some reliable credentials as a filmmaker (and adventurer).

The pyschic healers of the Philippines and Brazil have been studied by other people as well. Some people have found certain healers to be authentic, some healers have been found to be frauds.

Saint German lived in Europe about the time of the French Revolution (1789 and thereabouts). Back then he claimed to be several hundred years ago. He was certainly a very intelligent and unusual man. He visited the kings and queens of Europe and spoke about a dozen different languages.

There are rumours that Saint Germain was a vampire. There were many rumors about Saint Germain.
I had not heard any stories that Saint Germain lives today though there was an orgainiation in New Orleans that 'idolized" him (for lack of a better description). That is the Loyal Order of the Count of Saint Germain.

Two nights back on Thursday, July 3 I had an OBE. Thi OBE was unusual for me in that vague conciousness and dream imagery were very prominant. It began and ended in a dream which I have titled
"Flight Out of Work"
This was a continuation of a dream earlier this night. Here I realized that another job service had hired me to work at another nearby location (other than the place of work in the earlier dream tonight). After a lot of trouble getting in touch with this job service with a very strange cell phone I soon started work at a large house. This place was familiar from another dream of years ago And some of the dream temp workers were familar also.
After a few hours of work I wanted to get outside the house and take a flight over the surrounding woods. While going down a hallway I saw two men who were probably managers. So I went into a restroom hoping they would pass by and not notice me. One man did come into the restroom to wash his hands but he soon left. I waited a minute then went back into the hall and got outside through a side door.
OBE "Flight Out Of A Dream"
This is where the OBE began although consciousness was very vague. Immediately I floated upward 30 to 40 feet and got up about as high as the house roof. Then I took a flight out over the spacious backyard and above a wooded area.
It was a 10 to 15 minute flight over surrounding woods. The flight covered about half a mile. Flying was slow, leisurely and uneventful.
One (of many) questions concerns the location. It could have been a Belief System Territory (BST). It might have been an actual physical location or it could have been an OBE with only dream imagery. The place Was familiar though I have never been there physically.
I suffered from a confused consciousness. During the flight I realized that it was a special experience but did not quite directly equate it to an out of body experience. Perhaps trying too hard to focus concentration would have ruined the experience. However, upon awakening I realized at once that the flight was an OBE.
Notes. Time was anytime between 2 AM and 5 AM. Duration of OBE was 10 to 15 minutes, the dream (including the OBE) lasted more than 30 minutes.
Locale in Unsure (probably Locale I or a BST).  There were only people in the dream (not the OBE). The OBE began out of, and ended back into the dream. Confused,  Flight,  Energy (pranayama), Meditation and a short pre-sleep Affirmation.

I have had about 100 or so OBEs (roughly half of them spontaneous and half deliberate).

That might seem like alot of projections but in fact the OBEs began more than 13 years ago (back in 1995) so that averages out to about 8 per year or less than 1 per month.

In fact there is no monthly average for me per se. On good months I can experience 3 or 4 OBEs within a couple weeks. Then I might go several months with no OBEs at all.

Two nights ago I had my first OBE since April (or May). (There was a lot of dream imagery with a lack of clear consciousness but I will be posting a description of it today or tomorrow.)

btw projecting directly out of a dream is potentially The Most efficient method of going out of body since every person dreams several times every single night.

Boredom may be as big an obstacle to overcome as the fear factor.
It is strange how many people express a deep desire to go out of body yet when they do have an OBE they do little more than float or walk around their house/apartment.

I know that boredom is an obstacle that one has to deal with.
Once the OBEs start to become boring then it is time to broaden expectations and attempt to do something out of body that is really 'off the wall'.
btw for at least a year now I have had problems with going outside and do any meaningful activity while out of body. So it must be time to take a quantum leap forward and attempt something unusual during the next OBE.
