About Frank...well, its bad that we didnt have any information about is state. Is he dead or what? hope not!

We don't have any confirmation one way or the other. However, our sense is that he died.

I would suggest reading through the posts in the Permanent Astral Topics and Astral FAQ sections. They are loaded with terminology, techniques, common experiences, etc.

As with most things like this, it will if you believe it will.

I've had OBEs while wearing rings and a necklace (two were gold, one was platinum). I've OBE'd from different houses, different body positions, different cardinal positions (head facing north, south, etc). I have yet to find anything that prevents me from an OBE except my own mind.

I recommend focusing there and see what happens for yourself. Reading too much of what others think prevents them, will only occur to you as well if you dwell on it/believe that it will happen that way.

Remember, once the body is 'asleep', everything else is purely dependent upon the mind. It isn't about the physical body at all.

AM is right. There are different methods because everyone learns in different ways. Pick whichever one resonates with you and then give that an ernest effort for a month or so. If you don't have any luck, then try another one. But stick with one method for at least a month before giving up on it.

Personally, I prefer phasing, but everyone is different. So do what you feel drawn towards.

Gandalf-
Yeah, I had read that as well. I was a bit disappointed that he wouldn't give anything other than a cursory mention of F4 -- although his rationale made sense -- we wouldn't be able to comprehend it as we are now.

But, yes, most everything else he mentions synchs with my own experiences/views at present. Very interesting stuff...   cool

Excellent advice Cavernstoy. I agree completely.

Sometimes reading too much about somethign can actually hamper your attempts. Everyone is different, so keep what you read in the back of your mind as a side note only. Don't get hooked on specific signs.

And lastly, it is all about consciousness. Daydream, trance, lucid dream, OBE, phasing, everything is simply a matter of various focuses/awareness of consciousness. If you can do one of these (and we all daydream and dream) then you can do all of these.

Personally I find mindfullness extremely helpful. It is a way to focus on your awareness throughout the day. It helps keep you from getting lost in thoughts. When you can do this it becomes easier, at least in my opinion, to do the following: become lucid in a dream, OBE, phase. If you already can do these things, mindfullness helps to increase not only the quality of your experiences but the quantity as well. (you have more of them and they become more stable and realistic with more control).

Ditto to the others.

My husband used to joke that it only took 2 signatures to commit someone for 48 hours of psychiatric review...I'd rather not test that!   wink

I discuss this stuff with only 1 other person (not hubby) and here. Otherwise I keep my mouth shut.  grin

My husband has been totally obvlivious to my OBE and phasing experiences. If anything, it works the other way around. When I finally phase out and I'm starting an interesting conversation or something, he'll suddenly roll over or get out of bed and zaps me back immediately.  rolleyes

Frank has a very good post on phasing that you can find in the Astral FAQ section, below is a link:

http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/welcome_to_the_astral_faq/what_is_phasing_and_how_can_i_do_it-t17413.0.html

Phasing is what Robert Monroe later called his process. It is a seperate method to explore expanded consciousness than an OBE, which is how he first began. Monroe categorizes consciousness into a bunch of focus levels (1-35 I think). Frank read Monroe and based on his own experiences, narrowed the categories into 4 areas instead of 35+.

The Elias material also describes areas of consciousness very similar to what Frank had -- using 4 areas at present. If memory serves, Elias calls them Regions. But if you look up that in the digest section, you'll see 4 regions. His descriptions are consistent with Frank and, once compacted, with Monroe's theory.

Hope that helps!

What I and i'm sure others want to know (including the original poster) is, is it actually possible to do.

I responded to the initial poster's question. I told them that I had seen a glimpse/snapshot of a future lifetime for me. I didn't intentionally ask to see it, it was shown to me. So yes it is possible. The akashic records are another place to go for that info -- I have visited a past time while there. Not viewed it, as I did with the future glimpse shown to me, but actually stepped into it.

The poster then asked if it was like deja-vu. To me, it is completely different from deja-vu, and I replied as much.

There. Straightforward answers for you.
