Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to OBE discussions! / My experience this morning

This morning, I had my closest experience to what I would call an OBE.
I woke up, but didnt feel 100% awake, so I lay on my back. After a few minutes, I felt sleep paralysis coming on. I was still conscious, but I couldnt move. I felt tingly in my hands, and I felt the vibratory waves going from head to toe.
Last night I was watching TVoS on 'Outside the Box' last night, and he had mentioned something about spinning like a log in a pool. So, I visualized a swimming pool (one of the clearest visualizations I've ever had), and told myself to turn over. My vision went black, and I could feel myself turning over. It felt like I was in water a little, like the air was viscus and provided some resistance. I could hear a roaring sound, like I have read others experiencing, but I could also hear music. It was the most beautiful music I've ever heard. I could feel my bedsheets with my hands.
I dont know if I got overexcited or just lost focus but, next thing I knew, I was lying on my back again. I woke up, and had an awesome day!

I'm definitely interested in this.
One suggestion. I think we should use Skype for the teleconferencing instead of Instant Conference. It looks like you pay either way for Instant Conference. With Skype, calls made over the net are free, and you can do a conference call with up to 10 people. If it gets bigger than that, you can make a "Skypecast", which I think allows for unlimited users and also lets you moderate the discussion.
Looking forward to it!

Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to Astral Consciousness! / First try at phasing, got some intuitions
|
on: August 15, 2007, 19:52:42
|
|
So, last night it tried 'phasing' for the first time and I was suprised. I got some strong intuitions, which doesnt usually happen to me.
At one point I was thinking that I needed to get a sleeping mask, and I was 'shown' one of those bean bag sleep masks, only it was filled with tiny rose quartz crystals. I was told that 'Rose Quartz vibrates at your personal frequency', and would aid me in phasing. I was later shown another method which involved taking a larger crystal and securing it to my third eye area using a headwrap-type thing.
I know this probably sounds crazy, but the experience was pretty intense. I guess it's at least worth a try. I know i do feel tingly sensations with rose quartz that I dont get with any other crystal.
Has anyone else ever gotten similar tips/instructions via intuition or guides?

Astral Projection & Out of Body Experiences / Welcome to OBE discussions! / Re: people who die for like 5 minutes, but come back with no memory of a NDE or OBE

Regarding NDE there are numereous cases of people experiencing brain-death (no EEG, and no blood supply) and then subsequently accurately reporting what took place whilst their EEG was flat. We therefore either have to accept that the mind can function whilst the brain is dead, or else produce a better definition of brain death. I think zero EEG and zero blood supply is quite a good definition of zero brain-activity, although functional MRI might be better.
True, but I have also found that time seems to take on different meaning in altered states of consciousness. For instance, once while in an altered state of consciousness, I was riding in a car and it felt like we had been driving for an hour. It turned out to be 20 minutes. I'm sure that brain death would cause a more intense altered state, so there wouldnt be a way to tell if their experience synched up with our perception of time. To them, an hour experience could last a few minutes to us. Not saying your wrong, just offering a counter point.

Astral Chat / Welcome to Astral Chat! / Scotland's witches officially pardoned today!

If you are talking about Salem, Massachusetts, then no, no one was burned there for witchcraft. 19 Were charged with the crime of practicing witchcraft, and were hanged.
1 person was pressed to death. He died before a confession could be gathered from him.
Most (if not all) of the accused were not witches at all, but devout Christians. On a side note; One was even a minister, who recited the Lord's Prayer while standing on the gallows. It was believed that witches were unable to recite the prayer. He was hung anyway, even as the townsfolk protested.

The Astral Library / Welcome to Book Reviews! / "Otherwhere"

Has anyone read "Otherwhere: A Field Guide to Nonphysical Reality for the Out-Of-Body Traveler"?
I ordered it today, but I'm not sure If i should read it. My biggest concern is that my adventures in the astral would be affected by what I read. I really want everything to be as subjective as it can be, instead of living out someone else's dream world. Any thoughts on that?

For some reason, the "Welcome to OBE discussions!" (the first forum), has the ability for regular users to create stickies. I would like to see this feature removed from that forum, as I believe sticky-ing topics should be a Mod-only activity. If everyone were to sticky their own posts, imagine how chaotic that would be....
Thanks, Para

Thats a good idea Cheyyne. It would be more interesting if this "game" had multi-player support, where you could connect a bunch of users over the Internet. That would be interesting to see if people in the astral world, could cause changes noticeable in the game world. You wouldn't necessarily need a multi-player game for that, but it would add a bit to the fun factor.
