Lately this is what I've been doing.
Once I get just past the swirly colours, I get black and white (bluish as it's through the blue fog) images which continuously move around and form pictures which sort of meld into each other.
So what I've been doing is starting to direct what I want to see. What I do is try to see general types of things.
What I mean is:
I'll think dog. Then I'll do the lines of a dog (sort of like what you do when drawing in art class) and then:
a DOG will appear. Or a flash of a dog, or even just a shadowy outline wagging it's tail. The point is I'm seeing this in the swirly images, NOT in my imagination.
I don't spend too much time on it. I just say. Ok great! That's a dog. Good job!
Then I'll think cat. Then I'll sort of start drawing a cat with my imagination, and a random cat (tiger, swirl of a cat, something which is obviously catlike) will appear.
Mountain, tree, plant, fish etc.
I don't get too frustrated if something doesn't appear (which is rarely), I just move on to the next idea.
Then I try to get a little more specific e.g. I want to see a border collie, or a salmon, or a badger (there aren't too many different types of badger that I know of), or skunk. Sometimes I'll get it but often I won't.
Then I go back to working on the general topics. My goal is to start to get more and more specific images of more specific types of things.
It's a useful exercise that I'm finding is working quite well. At least it's provided results I can play with, which is always fun. Just thought I'd add this bit.

I usually get this random twitch (a finger, a toe, my cheek, eyebrow etc.) when I lose consciousness while in Alpha/focus10. I've always assumed that it was a helper or something trying to keep me awake, but it could be just my subconscious trying to "help" me with the process.
An itch on the other hand, depending on what it's like, can signify that not all of your bodies energy/chakra connections are working smoothly. This requires some work with NEW to fix. If you then get a kind of muscle twitching (different from a random twitch that you get as explained above) you definitely have a blockage of some sort and need to get chakras working around the area. Then you need to work energy through the area. A couple of days of practice and the twitch/itch in *this particular case* should eventually go away.

I'd just like to say, after fully waking up.. that... OMFG!!! I DID IT!!! For the first time ever too!!! I've been dragged out of my body a couple of times and ended up in dream state but this is the first time. It wasn't perfect but dammit it's not supposed to be. Thank you cube!!! THANK YOU!!! TY!!! This method works. I just did it for the second time (first time didn't work) and I experienced multiple wakeups. E.g. I woke up and got out of bed twice before I realized I wasn't actually waking up. On the third try I got up and checked my deck of cards on the dresser(which was what I was supposed to do to verify the RTZ location) and got three out of four (I already knew what the first one was going to be but the other three totally threw me. Got one wrong, I think, but I think I'm getting errors in download. I'm going to work more with this exercise anyways) The effect was weird in that I could swear I was waking up but I ended up not waking up. There was a dreamlike quality to the situation too. Other than that WOOHOO!!! Thanks for a great method!!! Jeez I hope I'm awake right now while typing this heh Jason.

In R.B.'s Astral Dynamics it describes a method where you count from one to ten.
e.g. Breath in, only think of breathing, Breath out, count one in your mind, only think 1 Breath in, only think of breathing, Breath out, count two in your mind, only think 2 etc.
up to breath out, count 10 in your mind
Then start over.
With practice you'll find that you'll have short periods that you'll be able to concentrate which will gradually get longer and longer.
Missing a number or going over the number are sure signs that your concentration needs work and will happen at first. Not a big deal, just start at one again whenever you go over the number 10.
Your mind should be thinking only these things.
Breath in, oooooonnnnnnnnneeeeeeee (for length of outward breath) Breath in, tttttwwwwwwowoooooooooo (for length of outward breath) etc. up to Breath in, ttttttteeeeennnnnnnnnnn (for length of outward breath) then Breath in, ooooooonnnnnnnnnneeeeee (for length of outward breath)
It's an easy exercise I find is really good at getting the mind to shutup and also getting your body to relax really well. I go really deep using this exercise.

You're wondering whether you're being bothered by negs or whether you're being helped by your spirit guides and whatnot. Here's what you need to do.
Work on NEW (read everything on this website). Learn how to manipulate energy. Learn what it feels like to manipulate energy. A better description then the one on this website is given in "Astral Dynamics" by R.B. if you need more information. But the articles on the website are more then enough to get started. Then use the Monroe technique of imagining that this very positive white clean (you'll feel it as tingly when you get used to NEW) energy is moving out of the top of your head over the skin of your body and covering your body and coming back through your feet continuously. Note: I'm not sure that Robert goes over this as I learned it from Monroe tapes.
Thing is, this field of tingly energy you imagine going over you is actually real in the astral. If it's positive, you can actually use it as a shield. Just the comfort level of feeling/imagining it there is enough to keep negs off of you. You'll get more comfortable with it over time, but the more you imagine it's there (and how real you feel it is), the more it's there and the longer it will last, even when you're not concentrating on it.
Then, when you or your sister are being pulled out of your body, use this technique to block and ascertain the motives of the individuals bothering you. If you get any bad feelings at all, tell them to get lost. You're not their puppet to play with.
If on the other hand, you test them out, and it still feels pretty positive situation, you might get into trance and ask them what the heck is it they want. Trance is like a mild milky state where your almost asleep but not quite and your mind wanders a lot. I think of it as "slippery thinking". Monroe refers to it as alpha. You won't get an answer (probably) in language, but you'll probably get a clearer feeling of what they're about. Try to clear your mind, remain calm, (note: they can't do anything to you either in the astral or physically), again relax and clear your mind, and just get a feeling for where they're coming from. It will probably take you longer to figure out what trance is so using a binaural beat machine may help. (Binaural beat machines/programs cannot make you OBE, but do put you in a mental state where the OBE is more possible)
Anyways I don't like the fact that they lied to your sister so DO NOT allow them to help you get out of your body unless it is to provide energy flow. I guess what I'm saying is, these guys approached your sister under false pretenses which doesn't necessarily mean they're evil, but it's not good either.
Other techniques which can help:
1. Declaring I love you to whoever is doing this and asking them to give you a hug. You can cackle madly for effect if you want. But negs hate the touchy feely stuff. I know, you're going to feel like an idiot but it works, (even when they're not there which can happen a lot if you're majorly paranoid. don't worry about it too much. The positive energy you exude sticks around afterwards and the more you do it the better). 2. Lord's prayer every night and mean it (or a prayer in whichever religion you might practice). 3. No fear, they can't do this if you're not afraid of them. If in doubt, smile, turn around and head right through them. Demand that they get the heck out of your house. Then use you're positive energy and "push" (e.g. imagine and move your tingly energy outwards) them out even if it means walking right into them. (Cackling maniacally really does help, and smile)
Remember if you're trying to OBE that the trance state can often have auditory hallucinations especially when you're about to leave your body. (Not that I've ever left my body, but while attempting to OBE, I have *definitely* had a large number of different auditory hallucinations, including loud banging and voices, and "helpful comments" which aren't necessarily that helpful). Don't confuse these types of hallucinations as other entities. They may be, but they're really distracting and should be ignored.
If you get anything from my blathering, it should be to read up on N.E.W. new energy ways on this website.

I just like the ghostly images in the far right of the sixth picture. Near the ceiling fan. Heh. Your dog is cool too.
As for orbs, well, it sort of makes sense that a person's spirit form would be comprised of a single round ball. Whether orbs are real or not doesn't really matter I guess if they don't affect you very much.
What I'd like to do is get a psychic into a heavily orbed area and see what happens when they for instance try to make the orbs leave or what have you. But whatever,
Creepy stuff!

I went completely lucid this morning heh. What hooked me was that I realized that I was going to attack a ghost in my old house basement (or something like that), and that I always do this and I always end up getting my butt kicked and I realized I was dreaming. So I stopped everything in the dream and started announcing.
"I AM GOING TO ASTRALLY PROJECT NOW" "I AM GOING TO OBE NOW" "I AM GOING TO ASTRALLY PROJECT NOW" "I AM GOING TO OBE NOW" "I AM GOING TO ASTRALLY PROJECT NOW" "I AM GOING TO OBE NOW"
Then I slid into waking consciousness and that was it. I was sort of in a position to project but essentially it didn't work.
Funny how some people can do it and others have real problems.

Yeah. If you get that sensation again. Try to imagine the surface (bed couch whatever) "pushing" your hands up. You'll find that you'll feel your hands are up in the air while the rest of the body is still the same. The cool thing is that you can still feel the bed under your hands and the sheets covering them so they haven't moved at all. Heh. One of the clearest affirmations before you have to mess with the liquidy astral.

Ok. Well. The way I originally worked it is with movement. You see it's a lot easier to see something moving for me then it is to try to see the room by itself. (There's truth in that whole Star Wars Luke with the blind killing the droid scene). Get a blindfold, then put your sheets over your head, then use new to activate your brow chakra (you should feel tension there), then wave your hands in front of your face, you should see movement, though you'll question yourself. This situation gets more prominent in alpha. In addition, if you regularly work at it, you'll be able to see your pinky wiggling in any direction you want to look it under a mass of pillows. If anybody saw me resting sometimes, they'd think I was the kid from the shining. Anyways, this 360 concentrated view is the way that this type of vision seems to work for some reason.
There's a number of steps I've used to get where I am today, which isn't as far as I'd like but I guess it's interesting.
Okay first. New energy ways is extremely important. You need to know what energy feels like before you can do anything with it. In addition, you need to practice getting into alpha. You'll know it when you get used to it. It just takes practice. It's where you're relaxed enough that your body slips into an altered awareness state that's very tenuous. What I mean is that it's very easy to fall asleep in alpha. But it's a lot easier to handle then the deeper sleep states like theta.
The relaxed state is very important, you need to relax every muscle in your body over and over until you're actually relaxed. If you do a sweep and relax say all of your muscles, you'll find that your neck will constrict while you're relaxing your legs, your shoulders will constrict when relaxing your chest etc. You need to practice getting into a relaxed state. And you need to go over your body at least two or three times or you're just wasting your time.
Finally, I relax my brain. That may seem weird, but there is a distinct difference between when say you're thinking about something and you're not thinking about something. (I sound kind of dumb saying that). There's a tension you need to get used to turning on and off. For instance, to really relax my body, I often release tension in the mid back portion of my brain. It's like this tension switch you can turn on and off. If you just contemplate and observe yourself, you'll eventually be able to feel your brain thinking. And different things you think about will affect different parts of your brain.
Anyways, to make a long story short, lately I've been turning the switch for my eyes on and off. For me, that "tension" area is a little bit behind the middle of my brain. It's hard to keep that area relaxed as any time you see lights or movement or whatever, you're physical eyes naturally kick in and that of course screws everything up. The cool thing is if you're concentrating, you can get right back and relax that area. Anyways, I was in alpha, and working on that area when I started to see my hands move in a very luminescent blue. My main thing that I'm concentrating on these days is turning off that switch and making sure it stays off. I think the third eye naturally opens when your eyes have been turned off.
Anyways, that's what I'm working on, I just wanted to get somebody else's technique for doing it.

Hey cube, with regards to your astral sight, how exactly did you go about opening your third eye? I've been trying to work this problem for a while now and, at best, I've gotten a weird x-ray blue vision and lots of pretty colours. I'm just wondering if you can go a little more into your technique. That would be awesome. Thanks in advance. With regards to the full 180 degree change, couldn't this be just a result of the full 360 degree viewpoint disorientation you supposedly get when you go astral? Just wondering. I think a little more practice would definitely help to straighten things out for you. Not that I'm an expert or anything (far from it heh  ) Good luck! Jason.
