Does anyone know why the saying goes "everything happens in 3's", where does it come from?

I don't know the origins... but I know WHY it happens.  It's due to perception only.  Things don't happen in three's... you just notice and perceive things in such a way.

Bad luck does tend to come in threes. In my experience anyway.

Because it ACTUALLY comes in threes?  Or because you only notice three "bad" things happening at any perceived moment?  That's the point I'm driving at...

It's entirely perceptually based.

It's like asking is there more "bad" in the world today?  The answer is no, there isn't... we just have more media reporting only the "bad", so the perception is that there is more.

Why cant they actually come in threes? Wouldnt be any weirder than anything else. Nature is full of nummerical patterns.

Things rarely happen twice, but if they do, then they'll almost certainly happen a third time.

so how do you explain having the same dream three times in a row... when it has nothing to do with your full everyday life.. i member when i was young  i drempt about a plane crash three nights in a row.. not sure if there was a plane crash but there diffrent things that can happen in threes not always bad.. just a thought

to bad that is so hard to learn to see thoes patterns in the mist of all the chaos... recently just quit a job that i could tell was going under. with all the stuff going on i am the only one out of the group that is working now.. and i am now going threw the same thing at my job i am at now. i have tried to warn my boss we are going to be shutting down as we are owend by contrattors and such.. how come no one listens. its so hard to get people to see what i am seeing. o well at least i will be ok and not out of a job AGAIN... so dont know if i see it or not but it has helped me out quite a bit this year..
