Be sure that when trying to see an aura that you stare at one spot and do not move your eyes.  if you see something out of the edge of your eye, it is then not an afterimage but an aura, because the after image is the exact size of the image while the aura is bigger.

This much I know, but more I cannot say because I have yet to see one myself.

i think that 20 second time limit(maybe a bit less) to see an after image is what some neurophysiologists have determined to be the time it takes for the light being reflected into the eye to burn or make an impression on the retina.

One of the arguements RB makes is that afterimages can be seen nearly immediately with a bit of practice, so maybe they arnt afterimages? I think they probably still are afterimages though.

Tha arua from the few times ive seen it looks different than afterimages. It raises up off the body further than afterimages do and has a kind of internal shimmer to it, kind of like heat waves.

I think the purpose of the aura viewer here at astral pulse is more for training purposes, to get your peripheral in action and to take notice of subtle lights, but doesnt really show you an aura of a color.

Hi, I'm new around here.

I've been mucking around with this aura vision thing. I managed to trick myself into believing I had succeeded, but after experimenting, I then realized that it was just an after image. Needless to say, I was not impressed...

So I came across this website, and read all the articles on aura vision, including the one on after images. On there, the person claims that an after image takes at least 20 seconds to form. Well for me, they can form instantly. I loaded up the aura vision tester on this site, and I did a little experiment. Sure enough, I could get the after image effect to happen almost immediately. I looked at the blue square for a couple seconds, then looked at the grey field, and a yellow square followed my vision.I tried again with a red square, and again, I got a square (cyan) which followed my vision around.

So the idea of a 20 second time limit to prevent me from making this mistake will not work for me... I also considered just making sure my eyes didn't move, so the after image wouldn't streak into the part I was gazing at, but that's next to impossible. Your eyes are almost constantly moving, unless you focus on a fine detail of something, which is exactly what you're not supposed to do from what I am told.

I am almost ready to say that this is a bunch of baloney. Just about everything people claim to be able to see can be explained with the after image effect. The colors you are supposed to see are even the same as the color you get from an after image (eg. yellow from blue). However, there are still a few things that wouldn't make sense, like the different colors over the same person simultaneously.

Can anyone offer some suggestions?
