wave I CD? what is that? I'm not familiar with it. I've got a techno work on my computer that'll put you right into a trance no problem. Try projecting after a vigorous workout, like after your martial arts training or after a long run.

wave I monroe institute CD for achieving the focus 10 state. I couldn't agree more about projecting after working out, I'd suggest
running on a treadmill, when you get off after an hour or so it still feels like you are moving forward which has helped me project along with bike riding. The wind in your face and visualizing yourself propelling forward has also helped me in the past.
take care,

I dont think coke or tea will in anyway limit someones spiritual progression.  I think if they reach a point where they feel caffeine or tea is limiting them people will give it up.  But I see it helping people at the monk level not people trying to progress in other ways already with way more important things holding them back.

The person who started the topic did say they think alcohol makes you see the way things really are.  I dont think thats really true, it changes your perception which is what I like about it.. but I think it makes things less real than more real.

I have a drink every now and then.  I think people should give it up when its right for them and not because some doctrine says it inhibits spiritual growth.  I myself only drink once a month or so because I have noticed for me personally it has negative effects afterwards.

I see no reason whatsoever to give up caffeine.  I believe if a person is trying to spiritually progress they'll there will come a point where they say "no more of ____".  Until that point I see no benefit of believing i should quit due to the fact some person wrote it stops you from progressing.

I have decided after years of err.. research, that alcohol can be very beneficial. I believe that it does this by removing your inhibitions, and making you see things for how they really are. Example, I was on a night out last night at the university club, I had a fair bit to drink. I just stopped and looked around and thought how ridiculous it all looked! Everyone dressed the same, dancing the same with the same haircuts and telling the same jokes. What is the matter with the world! can no-one think for themselves anymore! I'm not saying I myself am perfect, but I have a modicum of self awareness. I despair for the future of the human being.

Anyway, I'm just ranting, thats enough from me, what does everyone else think?
