Any Questions? I wasn't too deep but deep enough. I got out but it's never really over, is it? Anyone else here in/out of a cult?

Fill us in  wink

How did it start for you?

What about you personally made you vulnerable to being exploited this way?

How was the moment when you "snapped out of it"? Was it difficult /dangerous for you to be up front with the group members when you needed to leave?

How did your departure play out?

They are online & I found them.

They made promises of something I wanted.

When I saw they were evil and not what I thought. The only way that it is dangerous is if you are vocal about it, then they release personal info about you or they hack your computer. They also practice black magick on their haters. Black magick is more powerful when a large group is participating.

Which was what?

In cases like these, it helps to provide developed answers. One of the best ways to protect others from such exploitation in the future is to be thorough in your explanations of what happened to you, and the reasons you can see for it all (when it is safe to do so).

They don't appear to be a cult on the outside. It's only when you get deep into the teachings you realize that you are in strange waters. If you are a seeker you might know what I mean... looking for secrets that will increase your experiences & psychic abilities. I have always been fascinated by people that call themselves an enlightened guru. Wanted to meet one in person & become a student.

They are based in the US but the members are international. Main goals are spiritual, psychic, self-improvement....
Rituals are based on meditations, energy work, visualization...

Most people don't make it too far or stay very long...because it takes a lot of money first of all. I can't say that I didn't benefit. I learned a lot, had amazing experiences, felt like I was in a family with people who understood me. I discovered abilities I didn't know I had. I feel like I made a quantum leap in my spirituality. I don't regret it. I just realized it was no longer for me, I could never really trust their beliefs so I felt like that was holding me back. Some of it didn't feel like the truth & almost like my energy was being used for something I didn't sign up for. I think if you join a group that wants your money, tells you what to believe, does not allow you to explore other teachings, tells you to avoid anyone who is not part of the group, puts you in fear of losing your soul if you leave them...you might be in a cult.

"...you might be in a cult."  ...or the army. Ok, enough. You've teased long enough. If you are truly concerned that others learn from your mistakes, you'll quit with vagueness and spill.

Yep.

Each of the questions asked of you would be best answered in about a paragraph if your goal is to help others avoid the same mistakes.

Steve Hassan is a mental health specialist who was heavily involved with a certain cult (the famous Moonies), and later in life worked toward studying the social dynamics of these situations, and how to best help concerned family extract their loved ones (victims) from the mental control of their keepers.

Joe Rogan interviewed Hassan August of last year:

His ideas might be interesting to you, or possibly useful for reflecting on what happened with you!

I never said I was concerned about others. Where did you get that idea? Just wondering if anyone else has ever been in this situation. You can't help someone that is in a cult, they made that choice. Anyone can leave at anytime. I never said I made a mistake, I don't regret it. Spill about what exactly?

We are letting you know...repeatedly. What powers? What cult? Will you continue to be annoyingly coy or will you just answer the questions in a straightforward manner? I'm beginning to suspect you're a woman.

I guess it wasn't obvious that I am not going to say what cult it is... it wasn't obvious? If I name them they will come for me & this site. There are a lot of cults, it doesn't matter, a cult is a cult is a cult, who cares which cult it is, you would never join a cult, so it doesn't matter.

If you did join a group and they all seem to worship the "master" you are most definitely in a cult. For example, one day the master says you should only wear black clothing and later you decide to wear something purple...then all the members keep coming up to you saying, "the master says not to wear that, what is your problem? Why aren't you listening to what the master said? You must not be a true soul". Or maybe you tried this meditation technique and wanted to share how well it works...but did the master teach you that? If the master didn't teach you then it is a false teaching! Blasphemy! Everything the master says becomes a new rule like a commandment.

Every lesson builds upon the next lesson. There are levels, you are not allowed to skip around or move to the higher levels before you do the basic work. I could tell you things but I don't know if they would work for you without doing everything else. The way it is all set up, you drown yourself in the teachings, you have to put in a lot of time, go to spiritual places, be involved in group meditations, meditate daily, practice a lesson until you get results then go to the next. Sometimes, there are members that can never get past the basic stuff. I've seen members complain about not getting any results from the most basic meditation for months, they get frustrated & end up leaving.

They have there own lingo for stuff, so it makes it difficult to explain. They don't place much importance on astral projection. It is seen as a waste of time & a distraction. The do go over it lightly since many people are interested in it. Here is one technique that helps. Let me know if you heard it before, I have to use my own words instead of the lingo. So first of all, everyday you want to really study the details of your surroundings. Try to memorize every single detail of your room, the placement, the texture, the colors... Close your eyes and see it exactly in your mind as it is in reality. Open your eyes & see if you got every single little detail right. The smallest details, it is all in the details. Now close your eyes and imagine touching everything & feeling the texture. Imagine what the texture is like as if you were reaching out & touching it. When you can reach out and touch something with your mind & feel it, then you got it. At night before you go to sleep, spend sometime studying the details of your room, then close your eyes and imagine touching those things with your mind, feel the texture & density. When I do these things I start to have more lucid dreams, I can remember the details, it feels more real, I start to wake up inside the dream every morning.

It makes sense to leave details out if you think your safety is threatened by their inclusion.

But I can guarantee they are not coming for this site  cheesy

On the offchance they did, there is nothing of note they could achieve other than a pile of inane posts for a few days.

No one is going to take down the Pulse by firing psychic hellfire missiles, of that I am sure. Maybe the Astral Dynamics forum... but not here.

Sounds about par for the course.

That is a common technique for visualization. A fair number of people have had success with that technique here.

I was enjoying the reading. Is there anything else you can say about it? How far exactly were you able to get? Not in the cult, but in your spiritual practices within doing what the cult advises.

I was enjoying the reading. Is there anything else you can say about it? How far exactly were you able to get? Not in the cult, but in your spiritual practices within doing what the cult advises.

They helped me to be more consistent in my daily practices, like a spiritual mentor. They helped motivate me to meditate daily, even twice daily by explaining the importance of developing your soul. My meditations went from being relaxing to having profound breakthroughs. Now I can shift so quickly into deeper levels of consciousness, I feel energetic vibrations throughout my core, I can feel my being expand beyond the physical & I feel a connection to the universe. I still experience this and even though I mix in other techniques, it hasn't lessened the impact. When I did group meditations with them, it was even more intense because that made me have spectacular visions, once I asked the lady next to me if she saw anything & she started to describe exactly what I saw, I'll never forget that. For some reason being in the large group meditations with the master, were we are in trance for 2-3 hours, produced the most surreal visions. I can have visions on my own but they are like looking at something from a distance, with the group it was like having it in high definition. I assure you I didn't drink any kool-aid. As far as energy work, I am now able to sense energy much stronger. I also have premonitions of things that will happen more often. People I have a bond with, I can pick up their thoughts easily, I can hear whole sentences they are thinking, repeat them & see the look of fear on their face lol. I can't tell you how many times I have heard "how did you know that!"

They make you feel like your spirituality is the most important thing about you, nothing else matters, nothing at all. It's this intense belief & the trust you put into your efforts that make the difference. A new reality opens up and the illusion starts to break away. They crack you open.

Very smart way to play it. I bet you scored more than a few brownie points on multiple levels for that maneuver.

From your description - I would guess it is scientology? Smiley It too has levels and needs you to pay up as you advance with a lot of money. I think you can find all the material available for free though.

Nothing is more hilarious (for me at least) that all of the cults are teaching stuff that is already available in some form or another that can be easily found through the internet.
