As an artificial intelligence (AI) researcher, I see thoughts as similar to boltzmann statistics (symmetric kind of neuralnet) with some adjustments for timing. As a telekinetic and telepath ( less often these days than in year 2003 when I recorded this video "psi wheel in a clear closed box 2" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pKJGb4RNRB4 ) I know intuitively that thoughts are part of or are attached to something that extends outside the body and can expand to touch everything around you or stretch over huge areas (even across the stars and dimensions) and affect how events flow together and what tends to happen.

If thoughts directly act on reality, what is a thought?

My def. of a thought is that voice in side your head .  I dont know if artifical intelegance could have any effect on its reality .  Its not some thing I have really thought on .  We all do create our own realty . This is what is behind creative visualation / l.o.a.

Excellent topic. I also don't know who exactly does the thinking. My physical brain, which is supposed to be a vehicle? my consciousness/soul? my higher self? How does the thought get into my head in the first place? I know we're affected by our environments and we pick up subliminal messages. Still, who processes these and initiates an emotion or a drive to act/speak?

Thoughts are the tiller of action. They are the embryos of physical manifestation. Thought is the cause. All physical phenomena is effect.

Thought is the cause

Ok, but what is the cause of the cause? What causes the thought? When I have them, they don't feel like choices, but more like spontaneous happenings in most cases.

If I choose to have them, then isn't the choice itself a thought, and who or what chose that thought?

There seems to be a "me the experiencer"... a consciousness that has has perceptions / qualia; there is something it is like to "be" me. I seem to experience thoughts that are a summary of actions I am about to take, but how I decide (if I even am deciding) is a mystery to me.

Some of this was covered on Star Trek t.n.g. with Data .  I think part of what Gene Roddenberry was asking was can a machine have a soul ?

Hello Stillwater,

Ha, no worries! I had a feeling you might have been playing there- I gave a serious answer nonetheless because it is one of the central mysteries of existence to me, and is a fundamental question about the structure of reality  wink

If thoughts directly act on reality, what is a thought?

Walter Russell explains:

You are the STILLNESS, Mind and Universal Intelligence.
Mind substance is LIGHT.

The U-niverse or what one calls reality (might as well call 3D movie reel-ality)
is a thought-wave U-niverse of your Mind idea, like a Cinema simulating your imagination.
All effects of MIND THINKING is but an illusion.
Creation is but an electric wave record of thoughts. Patterned light.

[Axiom #3]
The projection of IDEA from STILLNESS is achieved solely by MIND.
What we believe to be real and solid about our world, is an illusionary projection manifested as motion (electricity).
Fast motion is perceived as form and solid - matter. Slow motion is perceived as nebulous space.

All observed effects within the matrix are SIMULATIONS of what we believe them to be.
Motion does a fantastic job at reproducing the ideas of Mind, onto a cosmic cinema screen where
idea is reproduced in physical form.

(You) Universal Intelligence imagines 3D moving art.
The simulation is Mind dreaming.

Light

Matter and space are in fact the same 'thing' only differing from each other in terms of their respective volume.
So, really the terms particles, and molecules are a little misleading because it is the motion that determines how matter itself is manifested.
There are no particles as such, there is just motion.
When the motion is slow, it is positioned due to its low gyroscopic motion close to the cone base and
therefore manifests as gases and when further expanded - space !
When the motion has achieved fast gyroscopic motion then that expression will manifest closer to the cone apex and express its lofty position as particles of matter.

So, it only remains to determine what the nature of these light units actually is ?

These light units are the 'thought-bodies' of Mind which are the product of concentrative thinking and
whose effect are perceived as the particles, waves and matter of the universe of motion.

How is our Dimensional Reality achieved?

Think of the phrase "Hall Of Mirrors" but in terms of Mirror Cubic Wavefield
with 9 planes of zero curvature making up a wave field.
The 6 exterior planes act as REFLECTORS, while the 3 internal planes act as PROJECTORS.

We are spirit, expressing what we will.
We act out perSONAs on our stage of iMAGEination.
We are both the dreamer & the dream.
I think therefore I am.
I am consciousness & potentiality

I did that once , when I saw my post later , I thought , I have no idea of what I meant .
On machines and consciouness , I think that will be in the realm of sci fi for now .

Thanks for the effort Dreamingod...

But to be honest, I don't have the slightest notion what that might mean. It is phrased with quite a lot of authority, and calling it an axiom as Walter Russel does suggests it is a foundational truth that his reasoning is built on. As a foundational truth, he should do better to elucidate what he is talking about I am afraid.

I mean it seems to be a statement about the primacy of consciousness, but it makes no mention about mechanics. It sort of reminds me of the way people get a bit short-tempered with Deepak Chopra because he will use a sequence of phrases that means something to him but is utterly indecipherable to any audience he could expect to have, regardless of their qualifications. That is one of the challenges of philosophy... communicating your ideas in a way that they are lucid to others.

Walter's ideas here are about the way in which consciousness projects the illusion of a physical world.

To me they are expressing THAT thought is building this reality. But they aren't addressing WHAT a thought is. That is Beavis' premise here... that no one has offered an explanation for what the nature of thoughts is. I don't expect the question to be answered here, because it is seemingly beyond any of humanity's best and brightest to offer explanation for at this time.
