Maybe "The Shining" or "The Fourth Kind" (the fourth kind is a true story) or "The Ring"? I don't watch a lot of horror movies, but maybe you like these three.

What type of "scary" are you looking for? Like slasher/gory scary, or buried-alive scary, or thriller scary? New movies or old movies? What about the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre? Is that scary to you? If you haven't seen it, watch it immediately and get back to me.

I watched "Red State" last night. Not too scary, but absolute genius. Much better than anticipated and had I not known beforehand, I would have never thought it was written & directed by Kevin Smith. A very different flick from his usual style.

The thing isn't really scary, but that's my opinion.

The original Toby Hooper classic from '74. The 2003 remake is only worth it for the low camera angles following behind Jessica Biel.

I can't promise you'll be scared, but that one comes to the top of my mind. There's also a spanish movie called "The Day of the Beast" about a preacher that's trying to find a way to sell his soul to satan so he can find out where the antichrist will be born before it's too late. Good stuff.
