I have been sick with a cold for the last couple of weeks and all NP experiences basically stop for me.  Likely due to taking cold meds, etc.  My dream recall basically goes from 6-10 dreams per night down to 0-1 dream recalls if I'm lucky!  Meditation is difficult when you have a persistent cough!  Anyways, I'm not looking for sympathy...HaHa!  Just wandering how cold's affect other people here?  Do your experiences stop as well?  Do you have any tips that may help in the future?

I was averaging about 2 LD's per week but they stopped completely while I was sick.  I finally had one a couple of days ago after nothing in the last month.

if you are not feeling well, it's hard for you to focus on anything. The body needs to regenerate, therefore it puts you into deep long sleep for that purpose. St least that what happens to me when I get the cold/flu. I don't even bother wanting to AP, I just want to feel good and I rest as much as I can. I let myself fall into deep sleep, because my cells need it. By the way, don't eat dairy while recovering. Dairy creates extra mucus and phlegm. Take garlic supplements and olive leaf. They are both antibacterial nd antiviral. They will speed up the recovery. I also drink apple cider vinegar diluted with water and honey . This is extremely high antibacterial solution. very helpful for prophylaxes throughout the flu season.

HI T-man, also battling cold/flu symptoms lately along with other health issues. So yes, for me they do tend to halt my attempts. Interestingly when I am very very sick I get a lot of activity on the NP front. It's weird to say the least. Agree with LightBeam, sometimes our physical bodies need our attention more than our mental or emotional so take care of your health.

I made up a large batch of Fire Cider a couple of weeks ago, it's a combination of what LB stated above. It's ACV plus garlic, onion, ginger, turmeric, jalapeno and black pepper. It's awesome for combating colds/flu. So while every else is doing well at the moment I'm not doing so well due to my other health issues which prevent me from being able to slurp my own concoction, lol. Know you're not looking for sympathy but you have it anyway. Cheers!

 The Flu. Yes. All that sleep and bedtime seems to lead to some really profound NPR experiences. For some reason though, they seem to take on more of a negative overtone though!  undecided

Yes, lots of bugs going around right now!  I thought that meditation would help with the body but very hard to focus.  I guess just doing short little meditation breaks is the way to go for now. 

Lightbeam and Nameless...I'm not a fan of Apple Cider vinegar but I certainly like all the other ingredients you two mention!  Makes me want to get a batch of Chilli going!  Love the garlic, ginger and peppers!

Lumaza...I haven't had flu like symptoms for a long time but I will certainly take note of the NP experiences if/when that happens.

I agree that colds are not conducive to OBE, but a fever can sure set things off, though there is a dark side and lack of control. Loss of much sleep can sure produce a helluva LD!
