So I spent probably a little more than 3 hours in F12 last night explorin' around.
I got some comments an questions.

I found it was really easy to put my eyes asleep if I purposefully moved them around a ton at the start. They got tired much quicker and were less apt to dart. Feelings on this?

Most importantly was the three points I got to that appeared to be the deepest. The first two were very deep F12 and the ending was characterized by a pulsating of my abdomen, right above my belly button. Like a whole chest throbbing. This has thrown me outta state before so its nothing new. But it ticked me off because I could never get passed this state.

So I did some research, and no one really talks about this feeling, so I figured I might be going down a wrong avenue.

So I backed up to F10 and started exploring/focusing elsewhere.

Anyway, I got to another interesting feeling endgame, It felt as if my body was being pushed into my mattress, almost like by the feeling, I should have been well into the center of it by that point, but my body was pretty much numb. Then for about 3 seconds I had this incredible sensation. My perception changed. It was as IF/like(notice simile)something had a firm grip on my head and my body was just hanging lifelessly. Of course I doubted this perception immediately, know I was laying and bed and came promptly back to a strong F10.

Oh, another interesting note, y'all know the colors ya see while hanging around in F12. In the first two instance, the colors formin all those crazy shapes we see were blue, but down the last avenue, they all changed to green. Same shapes and whatnot, just a distinct color change. I thought that was interesting.

Can anyone give input into the different avenues I went down and their endgames? Familiarities? Agreement in color shifts? Similar feeling paths?

Cheers,
Contenteo

I could go into all the neat things I was experimenting with colors and form too.

The feeling of a force or pressure pushing you down is an artifact of Sleep Paralysis. Some call it 'the lead blanket'. The japanese call it Kanishibari meaning "bound or fastened in metal".

It sounds like you were experiencing the right things.

Each time you get to this state you may find a new challenge... I used to call it separation inhibition. It's basically down to over-analysing the state you are in. It's the paradox of the state... you must try not to over notice body sensations but the very state we end up in creates inexplicable and annoying body sensations.

That perception change... like a flip.. may be you flipping focus.. back and forth between states.

In the case of any beginners who might read this line... it's probably important to attempt to clarify what you mean by "explorin' around".  Smiley

It's generally accepted to be your heart center energizing.  My opinion... I have none, cause I don't experience it.

That's the sensation of you consciously experiencing your body falling asleep.  It's the start of the Trance state.

As for the rest, it's all typical Focus 12 sensations and experiences.

You seem to be doing really well.  All those "typical" sensations tell you that you should just keep doing whatever it was you were doing to initially get them.  Smiley

Ha, yeah, you got understand to use the word explorin'. Sorry newcomers. You'll see if ya keep with it.

I like the terms Bed - Thnx! I can really relate to the lead blanket thing, a blanket was my initially way of explaining it. And that Japanese word is pretty legit.

Has anyone got to the pulsing chest stage and claimed to project afterwards, because it is really intense and honestly, rather uncomfortable if you let it persist. I would rather not do it, especially if its not going to lead me anywhere. It would be helpful to get insight into that.

Oh yeah, and I found an easy way to get to F12 too, at least for me.

Once I got the basic paralysis on me(F10), I can focus in on a melody of a song to go deeper. It seems, the song is all stored in one focal point, so rather then think of one word over and over(I actually get bored with the word after a while, even though I am focusing on it) you can think of a melody and go deeper that way. NOTE: I was only thinking of a line melody, I don't know if layering two notes would give the same effect.

Since I only tried it last night, I wouldn't call it proven, but give it a go, I simply found it more appeasing that thinking of a solitary word.

You are actually lucky to have that. Its your 3rd and 4th chakra (Manipur and Anahat) going active. And best thing is you have the energy body sensitivity/awareness to notice that.
The head-gripping sensation is most likely your crown chakra coming online. For me it mostly feels like someone gently moving fingers in the hair or something crawling among hair.

Those who can't feel it should practice placing intense awareness on those points (and all 7 actually).
If its painful/distracting then you are probably new to meditation, it will fade with time. You also get used to the sensations and focus on more "important stuff" instead of OMG-what the hell is that.

Currently I have no modern way of explaining it, but in Yoga its the Kundalini flow racing through your main channel (Sushumna) along the spine and causing all the chakras to pulsate. Its a good sign, only a few lucky ones have it.

The very first day i tried to OBE - I experienced the heart-throbbing. As i hadn't read about i became pretty scared that my heart was going to explode or something like that. it really was that intense.

Now i sometimes still get the heartthrobbing, but i see it as a sign that i'm going somewhere. I haven't had any OBEs while getting it though - those 5 i've had came after waking up with the "exploding head syndrome" : ) The very intense vibrations and LOUD roaring sound thats almost painful.
I got those by meditating to trance in the middle of the night - after a short blackout i wake up in that "state" and can easily slip out of body.

Thx for all the insight so far. smiley

From my past days of exploration, I have made a hypothesis of the throb stage.

The consciousness is a complex place, even in its primordial stages(F10,F12). When you "explore" there is a number of places you can "go".

The majority of times I have gotten close to projecting, whooshing, etc. It was far away from the the throbbing stage. So as to keep my hypothesis broad. I have hypothesized that:

Although the heart-throbbing stage is a place one can reach through meditation/attempting projection, it is not on the path to the point where one can phase.

I need to do some testing now, and see if I can go anywhere else in that state. If you have any input please add it.
The last thing I want to do is to have people ending up in that state not knowing if it right or wrong. Because that throbbing stage friggin sux. No one should be stuck there by their own accord. And if we can't perfectly direct them on where they have to go, telling people where they don't need to be is a close second.
