Hello everyone! Bare with me since I'm new to the forum but not new to the idea of astral projection. I searched for other threads like this but couldn't find any that exactly "matched" this so called problem. So any help or insight would be greatly appreciated!

My question: What do I do after I reach the vibratory state?

Anyhow...on my own, I can lower my heart rate and enter the vibratory state within minutes. Controlled breathing has helps me but it's what after the vibratory state is what messes me up. I read that you must ignore the sensations so I do. When this happens, I'll either get: (1) increased heart rate and shortness of breath or (2) I remain in the vibratory state for over an hour with nothing changing. Sometimes my muscles will twitch on their own which breaks me out of the state but I can quickly return to it when that happens.

Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated! I've only experienced APing about two or three times accidentally...so if any of you can help me achieve this, you'll have my eternal gratitude!

Have you tried any methods to exit while the vibes are active?

I've tried the rope technique, rolling sideways, and falling backwards with no success. Also tried phasing to some degree with no success. I get all the exit signs but I can't get out. :/

Are you sure you are in the vibration state.   It is unusual that you are in that state for over an hour.   I only get in that state for a very short time.  If you are not in that state that could explain why you are having difficulty in getting out.   It is good that you are ignoring the sensations but your mind has to be relaxed as well.   That is how it is for me.    If I am thinking of something, that can wreck it.   You can get out by itself.   Just stay relaxed and wait to ap.

How about this?  Ignore the Vibrations.  Acknowledge them only in the most minor of way "Oh hey, vibrations, great..." then just continue doing what you were doing before they hit you.  
Let me explain... vibrations are ONLY a signpost experience/sensation.  
That signpost that reads, "Keep doing what you're doing, because you're doing it right".

The signpost DOES NOT read, "Stop what you're doing and focus completely on me!"... there's no better way to KILL your experience than to focus on the vibrations.  Once you do that, your mind then stops the process of your awareness moving AWAY from this physical reality and brings it squarely back here again.  This is what you DO NOT want to happen. 

When you experience those vibrations, they're telling you that you're doing things right.  You're on the correct path... BUT you still need to continue walking down that path if you're to actually project.  So, in order to continue walking down that path... just keep doing what you were doing which brought on the vibrations in the first place.

Another question: what should I do in the event that my heart rate goes up / increases? Should I stop the attempt? When this occurs, it's hard to stay still and to breathe slowly. I used to have these side effects right after the vibratory stage but it hasn't happened in awhile. Anyhow, just asking out of curiosity.

When *I'M* meditating... I'm doing everything except "not thinking".  My mind doesn't stop.
I do the noticing exercise mostly... and when I'm in the process of "noticing" I'm looking out into that darkness and my mind is going crazy like, "omg, did I just see something?"  "what was that?"  "I need to look deeper into that"  "was that a flash?"  

I mean, I'm not ACTUALLY verbally thinking it... but that's the Intent I'm putting into noticing.  So don't think I'm just sitting there thinking this stuff... it's all Intent-based.  I'm REALLY interested in the nuances of what I'm seeing.  *THAT* is what drives my awareness away from my physical senses and what DRIVES my awareness to project.

Unless your goal is SPECIFICALLY to quiet the mind (I'm not sure why you would ever want to do that anyway)... then there's really no point at which you're doing that. 
The act of "trying" to quiet your mind is an extremely violent one, because your mind doesn't want to be quiet.  Instead of trying to quiet it, simply allow it to be as it is and get swept away in the flow.  Smiley

Same as the Vibrations.  Ignore it as much as you can.  It's NOT physical.  Smiley

The heart thing isn't real too. I've wired myself and it was at 58 beats/min solid.
The breathing issue isn't real too. You ignore it all and you'll progress naturally.

Yes, Szaxx speaks the truth here. I can't tell you how many times I have even experienced a sharp pain in my heart. When I did or do, I just stay the course and ignore it. I know it's only a symptom/signpost of an approaching shift.
 Here's a thread that gives you some info on other possible signs that you "may or may not" experience during this practice. Do not expect them to "occur". Don't "look" for them either. If they happen, just passively observe them and stay the course. Like Xanth says above "
