First, you don't make an astral; it's a place/world/universe/dimension... A quick and dirty definition of the astral would be: dreamland... [|)] But maybe some will disagree. You should read Robert Bruce's docs ( http://www.astralpulse.com/downloads/downloads.htm).

the astral or the astral realm is where you go most nights when you are asleep. you dont go there physically but ur astral body does. you can train/practise to be able to stay awake while your body goes to sleep and therefore be completly aware you are in the astral.
but yeah i would highly recommend reading the treatise by robert bruce for a better description and techniques you can use to astral project (conciously enter the astral realm)

You're more awake when you're in the astral than when you're lucid dreaming plus the lucidity of a lucid dream happens after you've already started dreaming. When you're lucid dreaming you realize you're dreaming. When you're astral projecting you realize you are in fact on the astral and not "dreaming". At least that's what I've heard.

how can you tell when it's an astral experience rather than a lucid dream. is it one of those dreams when it feels more real than others. where it actually feels like you're there and the images seem to be clearer.
