Hello everyone, does anyone recommend a book for beginners on Astral Projection? I am really devoted at learning it and have just started a deep passion for Astral Projection, does anyone recommend any AP books that I can use as a beginner. Thank you!

The one I'm reading is "School of Out-of-Body Travel. A Practical Guidebook" it's a free e-book that you can get here www.obe4u.com, actually I found out about it because someone else mentioned it in another post and included the link. Hope it's helpful for you

Hi CFTraveler, I think that information on Astral Projection will help me as well. But I would also learn a lot about AP from expieriencing it, so I guess both Instructions and Information would be good. I heard that the book Astral Dynamics is good Astral Dynamics - A New Approach to Out-of-Body Experiences by Robert Bruce is good and also Astral Projection - Amazing Journeys Outside Your Body by Abhishek Argwal. I'm just so excited about Astral Projection I don't know where to start, I heard that a lot of people go with Robert Bruce's book. What do you guys think? Thanks! astralization,

Although Astral Dynamics is chock-full of information I still prefer Mastering Astral Projection for instructions. As for information I'd also look at Otherwhere, by Kurt Leland. It gives a slightly more modern interpretation of the experiences out of body experiencers have. If you can afford it, I'd get all of the above- but there are also (free) online resources to help.

Dear astralization,
i think Robert Bruce's book is a great instructional book and may just be the best choice as to what to read first.
On the information side,
there are also some real interesting occult books such as Charles Webster Leadbeater's "The Astral World, Scenery, Inhabitants and Phenomena".
And I've recently found two rather rare books (scanned e-books) that were written by mediums, who've passed by word some personal death & afterlife stories directly from the dead.
Robert Monroe's Far Journeys contains very interesting information and I've found that it was quite a "feel good" read for some reason.
Right now I'm reading Robert Peterson's "Out Of Body Experiences: How to have them and what to expect" which is instructional and contains many interesting tips. However I would consider this a rather secondary read but still worth while.
I think that it has to be said that all these books contain very different prospects and suggestions and it wouldn't be wise to rely on any of them.
Let me know if you're interested in any of those.

I partially disagree with Tiny.
While Astral Dynamics is a fantastic book, probably one of the best technical books out there, I feel it lacks something that Robert Peterson's book has. Which is the proper description of the state of mind necessary to achieve OBE.
I read AD first and struggled for the longest time which I later discovered was because I was "trying too hard", I was too invested in the process/technique. I recently picked up Robert Peterson's books, both "Out of Body Experiences" and "Lessons Out of the Body". Within a couple weeks of getting both of them I successfully projected for the first time. In Robert Peterson's books he thoroughly describes the state of mind you need to achieve OBE. He describes it well in the first book, but in "Lessons" he makes a great attempt at quantifying the different aspects involved in the state of mind he describes.
I personally think you should read all three at the same time. You can read AD, but also read "OBEs" and/or "Lessons" around the same time because, in my opinion of course, if you dive right into AD without a good understanding of the mind-state concepts in "OBE" & "Lessons" then you're going to spend a lot of time be ticked off in a trance state. HOWEVER! AD teaches you a lot about trance states and energy work which are invaluable skills to have when you get down to it all.
You should also pick up a copy of Robert Monroe's first book (it's a classic), but more importantly get a copy of Monroe's Hemi-Sync Gateway Experience. It will really help train you to balance between awake and asleep.
Here are some other books that could be helpful, mostly because they offer different perspectives. Though, most of them have pretty much the same information as any of the other books out there.
Astral Projection by Melita Denning and Osborne Phillips (Occult method) Astral Voyages by Dr. Bruce Goldberg (this book teaches you to use self-hypnosis) Astral Projection Plain and Simple by Osborne Phillips (Occult method) Astral Projection and the Nature of Reality by John Magus (Just an average Joe who spontaneously OBEed and wrote a book) Trance-Portation by Diana L Paxson (This is a book about trance states by a pagan woman, and while it doesn't really cover AP much, it teaches you a lot about altered states and other things you can do that will ultimately enhance your APing)

I also think AstralDynamics is a very good book, but Out of body experiences by Robert Peterson is a very pleasant book to read. For me especially because English is not my first language, and I had no difficulties in understanding the book. Here is a link so you can browse it or start reading it. http://www.scribd.com/doc/6868466/RobertPetersonOutofBodyExperiences

I never really read a book before (except boring books i had to read in school) and I started reading Astral Dynamics a while ago. I have read 80 pages so far and its really nice So far I've only read about energy work (very simple with his instructions!) and I've read about different kinds of phenomenas that Robert Bruce, the author, has experienced in the Astral. It's very interesting and i cant wait till i get to the part with how to archive AP

Thank you so much for all the help everyone. I just started reading Robert Bruce's books, Out of Body Experiences, and it is a great book for astral projection! He talks about himself and how he came to understand how to Astral Project. I recommend any beginner to read it as it is does a great job at explaining AP in a user friendly way. Thank you everyone!

Do you mean Robert Bruce's Astral Dynamics or Robert Peterson's Out of Body Experiences (How to have them and what to expect) or Robert Monroe's book.

now I'm all messed up with books lol! so far I've got Robert Monroe, William Buhlman, Robert Bruce and Robert Peterson, also a Lucid dreaming manual, and the techniques from obe4u.
I guess I'll just start with Robert Peterson's book and then just continue with the rest.

Monroe's book "Journeys out of the body" & an interesting sortof book called "A Soul's journey" got me re-interested in it. I've always had an interest in it(coz of a simple obe i had as a child).. though it has waxed and waned.
Main reason it has waned (and i dont put tons of effort into it) is because my mental/psychological state of mind isn't brilliant - what i mean is i can constantly analyse something (even with consciousness) When i do that with actual awareness it de-stabilizes me somewhat (i can feel it de-stabilishing me kindof) Also - i sometimes have enough trouble living in normal reality so opening the door to AP etc etc would possibly create a heckuva lot more problems for me. Even though i am *very* interested in it. One of the few things i maintain an interest in really. I should really do more meditation i guess. (used to years ago)
