Razputin, to get back to your original question... 'Charging chakras'
I have just finished the 'Mastering Astral Projection in 90 days' course, written by R.Bruce and B.Mercer.
The first exercise you are given is to inscribe small circles around the joint at the base of your left thumb with the fingernail of your index finger of the right hand. Do this for a few seconds then close your eyes and carry on making circles, but with your mind, for a minute or so. Then, keeping the eyes closed, just feel the continuing sensations .
This is the basis of feeling and stimulating the prime energy centers. (chakras)
Try it and see.

Razputin, Razputin... grin

I can make my pupils dilate by dimming the lights...

I can also make myself feel better by making love to my wife.

You can also make yourself feel better by taking a walk down palm street.

All you've provided is proof that what you call chakkras is what others call excrement:

the point is to take this away from unconscious reaction to conscious control. I'm not really trying prove the existence of anything to you. this thread was to see what people like me are doing

I'm not trying to convince you to mess with your energy. if you don't want to do it and aren't willing to try it's not really my problem

I'll just tell you that science tells us that we can't control certain parts of our body. I'm saying we can. I'm not saying it's some super secret. I'm telling you how

I really don't know why you're on this site

for me, the goal is to control my experience. reality selection, some call it.
i like to mess with my experience and make it unusual

doing this will make you run into the same types of things all people who mess with their experience run into

I can literally put myself in paralysis, feel vibrations, feel my eyes sore (guessing it's REM) and feel intense just by listening hard enough. after reading some of this site I realize I'm supposed to look at the blackness from there

I can also make the same thing happen in a dream (and the dream turns off into black) by thinking something creepy when im dreaming

When I first started working on my chakras I would do NEW type techniques like stirring motions on the front part of my chakras.

Cant remember how long I did that for but later I got into focusing on the rear part of my chakra - in the spinal area. I would slowly probe with my attention around the area in my spine where my chakra should be. After some time I would find something that felt sort of like a stone. Doing this would put me in very deep medititive state that I could hold indefinately.

Over time, working on the rear like this brings ALOT of your subconscious baggage into your conscious awareness in my experience.

I also breathe energy through my chakras regularly. When you inhale you breathe energy through the front part of you chakra, drawing it to the back. On the exhale you can then breathe it back out the front or let it out the back. You can also breathe it in one chakra and then back out a different one. I wouldnt say this exercise really charges your chakras - it feels more like your unblocking them and the enegy pathways inbetween.

If I want to energise a chakra quickly I use my energy hands to pull energy up my legs to the chakra. I'll alternate between the front part and the back.

@SUMMERLANDER: I want to thank you for challenging my beliefs in the way you did. The way you were almost mocking/ talking down at our beliefs was getting my back up. When meditating this morning I realised that this is a sign that I must have some emotional attachment to the beliefs or practices or something. Someone elses opinion shouldnt bother me at all, no matter how it's expressed. The fact that it did shows me that I have a problem I need to investigate. Thank you.

No worries blis. As I said to CFTraveller, I know as much as the next one which is next to nothing but I want people to question everything and try to experience these things from a fresh perspective, that's all. Maybe there is a chakra system yet to be detected by science...perhaps lying beyond the range of what we can observe, measure and record with our apparatuses at present...which reminds me:

To switch sides for a bit, it's interesting to note that Paramahansa Yogananda once said that the notions that the ancients had of the chakras was actually their way of talking about the endocrine system, as in the glands that go in the general 'place' of each.  He even said that the sushumma was the same as the spinal cord, IIRC.
Of course, this was in the early twentieth century, in those "gee whiz" times where materialism was cool.
I'll have to double check my 'facts', but I'm almost sure it was him.

Interesting...

Perhaps something like a Chakra system is what manifests the physical system. We, as a conscious awareness, could become aware of and manipulate this subtle energy system in order to somehow effect the physical system which is also energy albeit on a more persistent level.

Oh I just got that book a few weeks ago on my Kindle!  Good read, although I kind of abandoned the daily procedures because I'm trying to read too many books at once Sad

Thanks for reminding me to pick it back up though!

I would also take into account Kepple's observations as they are spot on.

Frank found chakras as well. He didn't like calling them that because of the mystical connotation, but he describes them spot on... then later he felt he shouldn't talk about them anymore.

I agree with "finding things out for yourself" thing, but I wouldn't disregard certain things because of what other people say either. That can have an adverse effect as well. We can study all day long, but in the end we just have to figure it out ourselves.

I've had one experience, or several actually over some time. They have _ALL_ been
in the physical reality. I put it as a question on another forum, so with the risk that
some part of my text is out of context, you could read and judge for yourself.

The ice cold feeling has re-merged some times after, when I've done a lot of NEW
for an hour during a day. But nowadays the coldness is local to only some part
like a small chest area or the lower part of my back. Sometimes followed by
feeling of warmth.

I don't claim it's chakras I experience, but it's the closest I can relate to.

The text below the dashed line, is from last year, so here goes:

-------------------------

I think my "kundalini oil" experience was an indirect result of primary chakra activity (in my head) caused by me sending healing to other people, because shortly after I started to send healing I got a lot of tingling feelings in various places on my head, where chakras are supposed to be situated.

Is my description below similar to any kundalini effect you know (the kundalini slugs/spots/oil coldness)? Does my way of getting out kundalini seem like a sane way, to let the kundalini slowly move around, utilizing it over longer time? I still don't know what I'm doing or if I have a "higher self" that does the kundalini management... I guess the kundalini oil is used to transform my personality as I've experienced some ups and downs afterwards, and I've also started to remember odd real-life situations I haven't thought of for years.

My kundalini experience has been much gentler than the fire-spike-stories I've read on the net and it started after I did some simple remote healing attempts and had done NEW over some weeks (which possible activated my base chakra?). My kundalini rose like a elongated piece of oil (lighter than water) inside a "tube" (my spine) filled with water. The kundalini could be likened to a slug passively floating upwards inside my spine. My kundalini rose veeery slowly (in elongated lumps and later as ice cold oil spots floating out on a table cloth), and the kundalini oil didn't feel hot until it had started spreading out in other parts of my body for at least an hour. My full kundalini experience went like this (from July):

--------------

For almost a decade I've had some problem I thought was a heart problem, but the doctors have so far found nothing. Today I think it is some kind of activity in my solar plexus chakra. I've also had some other strange physical symptoms even further back in time.

For almost half a year I've had a strange pressure in the sides of my throat. Doctors found nothing this time too. I knew very little about chakras until 3 months ago.

The kundalini experience started 4 weeks after I had done the NEW energy raising. One day at work I could feel an ice cold slug slowly rising up my spine, inside my spine, I first thought. At the same time, the coldness was mostly felt by my skin. when touching the area it felt warm to my hand, so the ice coldness was only felt "internally" on the skin over my spine. The ice cold slug took about 5 minutes to one hour to raise to the base of my neck, and at all time it steadily kept at my spine. I would say that the ice cold slug was 1 cm in wide and 15 cm long. Then there came another and another slug all day along. When two ice slugs sometimes merged (when the "top" slug almost came to a stop) the spine's skin area felt even more ice cold.

I got ice cold slugs rising up my spine for about 2 days. The ice slugs disappeared when they reached an inch up my neck. Then the next strange thing happened. About 10 minutes after an ice slug disappeared at my neck, an ice cold spot would emerged at my forehead, somewhat above my third eye chakra. This happened many times. At two or three occasions ice spots emerged at different areas at the top of my head, too.

Once the two days passed there was a change in events. The ice slugs stopped almost moving up my spine. Instead ice cold spots would emerge randomly (?) on my body, chest, back, feet, thighs, jaw, neck, shoulders, arms etc. These ice spots usually started out small and then grew in diameter, sometimes to the size of a palm. Some times the ice spots turned into heat after a few hours. The ice spots (and heat) usually disappeared after 1-6 hours.

This has been going on for some weeks now, but the intensity has reduced.

I've also experienced other strange things like internal pressure moving up from my neck to put full pressure inside my head until it moved to my crown and the pressure went away after some hours/day, but I'll leave those matters out because I don't think they are kundalini.

I never felt any heat when the kundalini has been moving, I've only felt ice coldness like a piece of ice a few degrees below freezing point. When the ice cold spots stop expanding, sometimes I can feel heat after a while and the ice coldness subsides.

So far I've not really gotten any psychic powers... I'm trying to OBE, so far not successful.

Maybe I should add that I compared the ice cold feeling to a piece of frozen meat,
which came from the freezer at minus 18 degrees Centigrades. Compared to the
frozen meat, I would estimate the feeling of the 'kundalini' ice to be about
minus 5 to minus 3 degress Centigrades; (-5) - (-3)

I took the piece of frozen meat (in it's package) and put it on areas where I
could feel the 'kundalini' ice and then I put the meat on areas without
any feeling of 'kundalini' ice, just to compare them both on several spots
on the body and head.

One of the days when I had this 15 cm big ice cold area on the front of my
chest, I went out in the gazing sun and I was wearing a black t-shirt, which
went quite warm. But the area with the 'kundalini' ice feeling still felt like ice
cold, and the heat of the sun did little to change that feeling.

I had to put my hand on my chest to realize that my chest was in fact very
heated, through my black t-shirt, by the sun. But the feeling IN my chest
directly below the surface of my skin, felt like being in contact with a disc
of frozen water!

The fact is that there are people who can see energy and some can also see chakras. If you are sensitive enough you can feel the concentration of energy in those areas. Most people work with 7 chakras but people that can see them usually can see additional ones.

Chakras? I may partially subscribe to Hinduism (in a metaphorical sense, I won't go into this now) and Tibetan Buddhism but...I draw the line at Chakras. I don't do any work with them whatsoever. I induce my OOBEs from SP/VS...that's it. How can you guys talk about something that you don't even know exists for sure?

That's actually my biggest problem with it...

If you "concentrate enough" anywhere on feeling it you'll feel whatever you want to feel.  It's entirely subjective in that way.
For the people who feel energy concentrations "in those areas"... they're expecting to feel a difference there.

I don't know if these ideas are fundamental or not... what I do know is fundamental is Intent, and that's what you're using when you're "feeling" this "energy".

Let me tell you guys what i think what you feel when doing energywork on what you call chakras.
When you go to sleep and dream your subconscious activates a mechanism called sleep paralysis.
To protect you from for example jumping out of a window in the physical world, when you are dreaming about jumping.
Sleep paralysis litterally paralyses the movement of your physical body when you are sleeping.

But when you are doing a form of meditation called energywork you are not moving.
And you are focusing on your body until you start to feel a tingling feelings.
That tingling feelings are very small electrical signals going through your nerves.
I think that when you focus CONSCIOUSLY on those electrical signals while not moving.
Then you can train yourself to consciously activate sleep paralysis.
But i think that it takes practice to be able to do that.

That tingling feeling is also called vibrations, when someone is going to astral project.
He or she mostly senses strong vibrations in the body that is the sleep paralysis when active.

But some guys think that it is some magically thing called chakras.
Maybe they are right, but until proven i stay with the theory of vibrations that are a symptom of sleep paralysis.

I didn't think much about Chakras, and truthfully didn't believe in them until recently when I started meditating. Actually, (and this might be hard for even experts on Charkras to believe) but I was in church and my pastor or the Holy Spirit opened my heart chakra (we're non-denominational and there's some serious Holy Spirit callin' some nights.) I had never experienced anything like it. It was like a physical block and it scared me to death. (Sharp pain in the center of my chest.) I thought I was having a heart attack for a minute. It was weird because he was saying "there's a message for someone here," and then BOOM I got the pain and then he said "You'll know it's you because the Holy Spirit just shot you like a lazer through the heart." I'm sure everyone in the crowd was like "oh he's getting kinda hokey." And I would have been too, except for the fact that I was the one who felt it.

I didn't believe, nor did I give any thoughts to Chakras before that experience. After that I began thinking about what could have caused that kind of pain, and rationalized it. I had been to all kinds of doctors and Cardiologists and I was fine. A few months later I began actively trying to clear my chakras, and when I got to my heart I felt the same sharp pain again. I'm guessing my heart Chakra was blocked or something. The same thing happened to my Crown Chakra in the same exercise. Like a balloon popping, there was a loud squealing noise like the sound of a proton pack in Ghostbusters and it hurt like mad for a minute. Since then I haven't had the problems.

Also, when I started clearing my chakras before I fell asleep in preparation, I began having 'movie screen' visions after I cleared my third-eye Chakra, which furthered my belief in them. To be honest, I think it all has to do with the Crown Chakra and Heart Chakras, being able to accept something you can't see. I didn't buy into them, and it took me a few more months after I started meditating that I began thinking about Astral Projection too.
