Well that raises an interesting point. People on drugs such as Pscilocybin when meditating, will experience similar hallucinations and visionary experiences the next time they meditate without the drug. Similarly people who smoke DMT can have the same level of profound experiences when they dream on very low doses of DMT usually excreted by the brain while sleeping. So there is some form of residual back drop of experience I guess that we form some kind of communication link with during trance related states.
