Hi everyone!  Can you help me with this?  I feel the vibrations, definite lifting and separation – almost like an unglueing sensation.  No noises heard, but I don't know if I would hear them as I am listening to suggested astral relaxation on my ipod.

I am lifting but not floating and it takes forever inch by inch, but I remain calm and relaxed.  My hands and arms twitch, then slowly lift into the air, then my upper body lifts to the point of sitting up straight.  I make sure as this lifting is happening, that my physical body is not moving.  When I sit up though, I can still feel the blanket covering me.  I continue and make sure by putting my feet flat on the floor and jump.   No floating.

So, other than practice, is there anything else I can being?  I do believe what I am experiencing are positive symptoms??

Best advice I got was to stop focussing on the body, relax more into the process, enjoy the freedom and focus on being 'elsewhere'. To me, the whole 'leaving the body' thing is a stereotype from being in a physical form. Why do we need a physical body to travel in a non-physical environment?

I think there is too much weight given to being able to "leaving your body, turning around and see it there lying on the bed" to prove one has OBE'd/projected.

If you are getting clear separation, then you are already there! By focussing on the bodily sensations too long you can keep your consciousness distracted from the real purpose. Read the Frank Keppel resource- he talks about making a compelling scenario in your mind to keep your focus off the physical. (Also read the astral pulse island threads)

Practice this long enough and you will 'leave' your body and travel 'by thought' without needing to drag along a redundant chassis as proof you've succeeded.

Just my 2 cents.

Hi bjm2997,

Ditto everything alchemist wrote. That was some really good advice in my opinion.

When I first started to experience astral projection I feel like I wasted a lot of time because I was expecting to feel the separation, which I barely ever did. This lead me to doubt my experiences, because my experiences were different that what others were describing. Now, many years later, I believe everyone will experience this phenomenon differently, so it's good not to get too hung up on what we may expect to happen.

I don't lament the past, but I do wonder how my development would have progressed if I had had access to this resource 14 years ago.

Anyway, the main thing is not to get discouraged or give up. Keep practicing. I will happen.
