what are you thinking about when you watching hypnagogic imagery ?
i can easily go to that state when i start to see lights and shapes and sometimes i can "evolve" that to be able to see something that starts to looks like landscape but sometimes i start to see shapes / lights and they disappears.   now i did this soo many times but i have no clue what makes me to "evolve" that state and i have no idea why it stops instead of evolve
perhaps you have suggestion or you found some helpful trick
thanks

You shouldn't be thinking about anything really... just go with what's being shown to you.  Allow yourself to see it with no judgment.
If you begin to think about things, you'll begin to analyze what you see... that will bring your intellect into the equation and, for most people, will ruin the experience by shooting you out of it.

I read on other website and opinion are split some people say pay close attention to this shapes and that how you progress other say ignore them completely .
what i was doing always was when i saw something i start to pay attention and focus on this shapes really hard ( just like u try to see something very far or you trying to hear some quiet noise ) and they start to be more sharp i see clear borders between black and white but then they just stop and disappears
i used to but now i dont talk to myself while doing this

For me most of the time I can only hear the hypnagogic sounds, like really loud bangs and or some kind of "sand in a tube" that keeps increasing in it's loudness, after this if I see things they usually pass so quick that I can't figure it out or it's a increase in white coming from the centre to the borders until it's very bright white/yellowish light, then I'm out. I really have to focus on not concentrating on the sounds or the imagery otherwise it's a fail.

This is where it gets REALLY confusing.

I didn't say not to pay close attention to them, I said to not put any thought into them.  You can and should definitely pay close attention to them... in fact, pay so much attention to them that you allow them to draw your awareness INTO them.  That's the entire point of the Noticing Exercise.  What I meant in my first post was that through this process you shouldn't really be thinking about anything.  Allow whatever you're seeing to do whatever it wants to do, but allow yourself to use that dancing imagery to draw yourself into the scene.

Sorry that I wasn't more clear about that earlier.  Definitely my bad.  Smiley

I definitely observe them. Mine disappear quickly because I get too excited. That is my problem when I am drifting off to sleep, or just resting, but I get them a lot. During complete AP, I get excites all I want and I dont snap back into my body, because my body and brain are fully asleep. But in between, I just enjoy the scenes as an observer.
For example just two hours ago when I was getting ready to take a nap and I was drifting off, a scene appeared in my inner vision, like I was watching a TV screen. In a forest, a man in a horse was approaching me. He was in full armor.  I thought it was the King Arthur time period. He got closer jumped off his horse, removed his helmet and looked at me. He had a long dark hair and a thick beard. He looked at me and said "This is just the beginning". Then I got really excited and the scene disappeared. I opened my physical eyes and smiled. That was so cool.

In your case I would suggest to try interacting with the scene and the shapes. Stretch your astral arm and try to touch them. Try to change the shapes. Then get your entire self within the scene. That may trigger full AP. Or if it does not ride away, keep your awareness active, while you allow yourself to fall asleep and you will have a pretty big chance to AP.

Yes, and as Xanth and Lightbeam said, you shouldn't put ALL your attention on it, it's more about letting it flow and letting it evolve into the actual projection. Just look/feel and hear those as if it was just something good/wonderful happening (which is!). The Observer part is always important for the projector because it's really means what it means, you observe, don't have any special emotions about those, you just watch them and don't move, just like an old man sitting on a bench in a park watching the nature and observing it slowly... that's the reaction you should have (it's really amazing tho so this is why it's so hard to project) eventually they fade away, it gets black again and then it feels like they're gonna come back but instead you start projecting and you either get out slowly (you get out of your body in your bed etc.) or sometimes it's almost if you had a space shuttle strapped to your back. The experience is always amazing in my opinion.

You could look at it in a different way.
To project successfully there's a few things that need to happen first.
So, if you take a projection as a finished object let's use a piece of furniture for example.
It starts with a tree being grown. This is you relaxing.
The tree is cut and seasoned, this is the start of those images.
If you try to take the timber at this point you'll not be able to use it as a piece of furniture.
The images you start to see should be noticed but mostly ignored.
Once the timber is cut into shaped pieces you may be able to tell what it is that's being made.
This is where the images are taking shapes you recognise. You should still notice them and not pay any attention yet.
When the pieces are assembled, you can see what is being made clearly. It still isn't ready for use.
This is where the images start to appear as scenes which look like they are on a screen infront of you. Still notice what's there but don't do anything more than watch.
When the assembled pieces of timber are stained and varnished, then allowed to dry, you can use it.
This is where the screen you see starts to become all around you and the sounds here will March perfectly with what you see. It's here where you mix with the scene and interact. It will feel like being awake during the day in a new location.
If you rush too fast it stops. ALLOW it to develop and it will. During this developing time all sorts of shapes colours and sounds will appear. Ignore them all, they are like a tune up at an orchestra before the show begins.
Once it all matches and surrounds you like being awake, be patient.
The rest is what you're searching for, the experience itself.

umm sure.

First thanks for answers and that you are trying to help me

lets clarify something from what i understand there are few steps
relax > lights/shapes > scenes/landscapes > merge with scene
Im stuck with shapes when i notice them they disappear after sometime

The images you start to see should be noticed but mostly ignored.
You should still notice them and not pay any attention yet.

I dont understand what you saying. How can i see something and not watch it ?
And since i dont understand it im probably not doing it right so please explain it

Look behind them not at them. The second you try to recognise what they may be, your analyzing them. This part of your mind shouldn't be used at this time.

Have you ever just sat down on a beach at sunset and just "watched" the sun while it's setting?
You just sit there, watching... taking it all in... enjoying it... not thinking about anything... not judging the sunset...
You're just straight up enjoying the experience.  You're "seeing" it, but you're not "watching" it.  You're "taking it in", but not really "looking" at it.
It's a passive experience of "experiencing".

Does that make any sense?

yea  i get this i think

I like this very much very clear, except "Look behind them not at them"

That was interesting i did that for the first time. I saw a shape and i imagine that i grab it with my hand and i immediately saw/ was watching my hand holding pole on some small boat and i was sailing in cave that was maybe 3 sec long experience so random, it wasnt color it was made of black&white/hypnagogic colors. later i was thinking maybe i was imagine this but there is no reason  for me to imagine boat or sailing in cave, very random thing

Looking at the stars in the night sky you may find clouds blocking some of the view. These clouds randomly appear but you don't look at them, you look behind them or beyond them. You could analyze their shapes all you want but the main objective is to look at the stars in this example.
While attempting to be successful in projection, these images are a side effect and not the main attraction. Ignore them for now. Wait until a scene develops and surrounds you then go crazy with interaction.
Each time you try, you'll get further along the path remembering what you saw along the way.
