this is the one thing that keeps me from trying. i know i'm capable of projecting....i don't want to attract negitive entities, but i'm afraid i won't be able to control it. i've read the "sticky" about fear, yet i still don't feel very confident. maybe i'm more of a wimp than normal APers.

if there has already been a thread about this, please direct me to it, cuz i couldn't be more new at this. i would love to be able to conquer this fear and simply enjoy the experience...thank you.

You might be able to find previous threads if you run a search. In my opinion, the negs are a manifestation of fear.

To me, the neg theory seems to be a bit like the theory of 'miasma' from Victorian times - for those not well versed in medical history, they believed that bad smells generated disease. Like with negs, they may have been along the right lines (disease-infested places do tend to smell) but in the end of the day they were wrong; diseases were caused by germs, and the negative effects associated with negs are caused by a mix of fear and belief.

And anyway, even if you do believe in negs, consider that everyone astrally projects every night (albeit not consciously) and so the negs wouldn't really be attracted to you more strongly if you did it consciously, would they?

I agree with the above. Apart from that take a good look at your current physical life. How afraid are you? Fear does attrack that which feeds on fear - to break away from this cycle you have to work on yourself everyday - in order to transform everything which you fear. If you lead a negative life, if you yourself are negative - there's a huge possibility you'll attract the same in the astral - it's not that different

thanks for the advice you guys. i'm a pretty happy and positive person, so i think i'm afraid because the negs seemed to be sort of hyped up whenever i read something about AP. (usually on other forums) i need to ignore it.

o.o; The same thing happens to me a lot. I think it's just because you're more likely to notice negs when you think about the astral, actually.

I've projected many times over the years and never met a neg.  But I don't believe in them either.
I've always assumed there is a parallel between what you believe and what you experience.  I think ignoring them is a good idea.  Go for it and enjoy!

If there are negs about when you project, it's because you manifest them. If your spirit is at peace with itself and you are a loving, caring person free from negative emotion, you should never encounter a neg.

K everyone gets scared from time to time. You just have to deal with it. There is nothing wrong with believing in Negs if you don't get paranoid or controlled by fear, so until you change your believe do this:

Your more powerfull than a neg, if not it would controll you easily. With that said envision a white "force field" around your body and know that the Neg cannot penetrate it. It might also help invisioning slaying the neg with a sword out of energy or so.
Just think of something that will defeat the Neg so you do not have to be scared of it.
