I went to meditate the other day, which usually has me falling asleep, but this time I focused on my third eye.  It seemed I was dozing off but was brought to by the feeling and sound of what I would describe as going down a dirt/gravel road. I was aware of what was happening as what I felt to be a sensation of being pulled by my feet quickly out of my body.  It scared me and I instantly popped back in to my body, but the noise and sensation was still going on and my mind clearly said "its going to be okay" and I let the sensation pull me out again.  It felt so fast, like I was going to fly into my mirror that sits on the wall at the end of my bed.  Yet when I got pulled out I suddenly stopped and was upright in mere seconds. Then suddenly I was back at the side of my bed, I remember hearing a wind like noise (reminded me of my son's white noise machine) and suddenly a woman's voice screamed in my left ear "Get back in".  It scared me and suddenly I was back in my body, I couldn't open my eyes at first but I started to consciously try to relax and wake up.  Anyone accidently have an OBE?  I have been reading up (thank you for a great website) so that when it happens again I know I have more control and wont be so scared.

Most people end up here because of such "accidental" projections.

You've taken the first step to a long journey.  Smiley

In Happyplace's case the term "accidental" is warranted. But I don't think it shares the same "characteristics" per se. as a "spontaneous" projection does.
Happy's experience occurred as a result of meditating on his 3rd eye while falling asleep. In other words, there was some form of intended experience or at least knowledge of what meditating could lead to.
The majority of people that I hear that describe their own "spontaneous" experience say that this happened right out of the blue. They went to sleep as normal and at some point in time during the night, they became aware that they were looking at their body sleeping or that they floating above it. There was no intent or meditation ritual that they performed before sleep. Many of these people didn't even know what "astral projection, was to begin with.

Yes I have tried to Astral travel or to have an out of body experience before, funny when I try I cant relax enough  grin I do meditate to help with anxiety and to help with what ever block seems to have happened when my father suddenly passed back in 2013.  I used to dream every night, beautiful vivid dreams, but now not much. I feel I must not be dealing with grief very well ( I bottle stuff up) I was guided to try meditation.  I am going to try a few suggestions here and see if I can attempt it as a goal.  I will say the only scary part was the lady screaming in my ear.  other than that I was more like "whoa this isn't so bad" Plus I was really wasn't prepared, there was no goal to see my spirit guide or a love one that has passed.
Also any insight to the screaming lady was?  I see that hearing voices is very common and nothing to be scared of.  I just don't understand why we hear these voices, as to what they are.  thanks for any guidance.  Its nice to see others who are growing and embracing the spiritual side to our beings.

Touche!  Quite correct, indeed.  Smiley

Actually, what HP recounts is what happens to me mostly when I sit down to "meditate".
You just kind of find yourself "elsewhere".  A happy problem.  To say the least.

The voices usually shout or similar and these appear to be your subconscious testing your mettle to see if it's something you really want to do. It also could be interpreted as your higher self or other, knowing the successful completion of an experience will change the way you are within and this change affects everything you thought you knew.
It's correct to ignore it for its fear testing at its finest.  The walking at the edge of a cliff in the wind is about as scary as it gets. Don't let your imagination take control and do the fearful, take the reins and continue, knowing it's a natural and safe thing to do.
The worst is you'll scare yourself then later kick yourself for doing so.
Go with the flow without any expectations or forced determination as these tend to slow the process. You can try too hard and by doing so you'll not be in the best frame of mind to let things occur naturally.
