Astral projected for the first time after nearly 8 months

I learnt about astral projection back at the beginning of January and I've been trying to do it ever since and I think I just did it last night for the first time. I started when I realized that I was dreaming and so I shouted to myself out loud that I would now astral project. I suddenly felt really strange and everything became realistic. Being there felt like I was moving around like I was actually awake. I think I was in some kind of hub world, I was next to a small lake surrounded by fields and there were paths going off in all directions. The place felt familiar like I had been there hundreds of times before, and although I couldn't remember ever being here, I knew my way around it and where each path lead perfectly. Each path lead to all kinds of different places where I had had dreams in the past. I woke up before long, but it was an amazing experience and I would like to know if anyone else has ever been to a place like this?

Thats how i have projected before. I suddenly became concious during a dream. And yes you get a strange feeling. a real movement and woosh feeling. Things become clearer, youre aware of your surroundings.

Interesting that you felt like you knew the place. Maybe you have been there many times before in dreams but have just not remembered it.

You just need to keep having these experiences and they'll get better and better.

 Congratulations. Pathway OBE's are great. They are incredibly resourceful. I once came to an intersection in a OBE that had 8 directions, like an octopus. Quite the selection there, usually 2 roads would be enough.

During your OBE/AP you may have gone to
a) a belief system territory (BST) which is a non-physical location in an astral realm or
b) a location on a dream plane.
In either case it might be that the place you were at is a location that be visited Both by OBEers and by dreamers. That is, a nexus so to speak, that can be accessed from both the OBE and dream states of consciousness.
