I just had a very amazing experience today. I'll probably elaborate when I get off work, but before I forget, I wanted to ask if anyone else had an astral experience where they tried to go inside their favorite book, or any book for that matter.
What I mean specifically is a novel with a story line. if so, please share your experience. Want to see  how it compares to mine and if something similar happened

Yes, Narnia and Harry Potter. Absolutely amazing experiences. I interacted with the characters and I felt like a part of these worlds. Here is an old post from me on the forum.

''The first time I projected there was way before I read the Deathly Hallows part I, or before I had seen the movie. I had no idea the story would take such a dark turn. And usually we experience the astral according to our expectations, however, I did not intend to project there at all, I was just taken, and secondly, I found myself in a forest area with Harry and Hermione, I remember seeing a tent and we were planning on how to find something. There was heaviness in the air, a really dark feeling,  but at the same time I was sooooo thrilled to had ended up there, because I was totally aware that my physical body is asleep, and at the same time I had teleported into this fictional world. I felt a part of it and despite the darkness of that particular scene, I felt in a mids of a great adventure. The feeling was unbelievable. Then after a while when the movie came  -Deathly Hallows part 1 (I read the book after I saw the movie) and I saw them in the forest with the tent trying to figure out how to find the horcruxes, I was like OMG, what the hell LOL. I think my AP took place even before the author had written that part of the book."

I was a fan of the old Marvel Comic books and became Spiderman once. I was moving through big city sky skrapers like Spidey does shooting the net from my arms and swinging around like Tarzan through the jungle. Once time was hanging on the net head-down into a backyard. Then again doing all kinds of salto movements and clinging to walls again.  No real plot going on... but lots of fun.

Kurt Leland writing about the Human Culture zone:

Quote
...itís possible to enter the world view of a famous person or the plot of a novel, play, or opera and experience it as realĖat least as real as anything youíve personally lived through on Earth. Verbal descriptions canít convey the vividness, the depth of immersion, possible when you enter a world view or novel plot here. Unlike a virtual reality game, itís indistinguishable from life, and satisfies a hunger to know anything you may care to know about that person or novel ...

There is no difference between LD and AP. In my case this did not start from a dream. It started with vibrational full conscious refocus.

Finally have time to write my experience. So for a few weeks, I was just going inside mirrors to explore mirror worlds and their relation to my reality. Some would be very similar, some worlds would literally be a mirror version (as in if i moved my left hand, might hand would move, etc)
After doing this for a while, I came to the conclusion that there are different realities in located in different pockets of our world. I heard somewhere about going inside a painting, but i unfortunately didnt have a painting in my room (For the first few weeks, I just tried staying in my room while projecting to get used to everything, and see if i can maintain continuity) But as a very avid reader, I did have books

Experience: So the night before, I stood a book up on my drawer to make it easier to "leap" in, so to speak. when i finally had a successful AP I saw the book as I left it. Instead of just walking slowly closer into the book to go inside it (as I would with the mirror) I felt it would be better to turn myself to a very small point of consciousness and zoom in there. I did, and felt a huge shift in how i felt. Where i was seemed to be a mix of both astral projection and lucid dreaming. I dunno, it just felt  different.
Anyways I was inside the book, and saw it as clearly  as i read it, and waaaay more vividly. I could also choose to watch it as an observer, or to alter it by participating. theres a bit more to the story, but I want to keep it short.

Next time, Im going to try it with a book i havent read before. Im also guessingthat this might only work with novels. reference book might not work. But hopefully that doesnt stop anyone from trying

In my view (also in Kurt Leland's, see quote or article) LDs as well as unlucid dreams take place on the (lower, private) astral dream zones/planes.

I've had many experiences of this type years ago.
The immersion is full on and everything present interacted.
The picture ones are just as easy, you'll create a scenario from it and jump into the scene.
They're great fun too.
