what are your best ways the vibration stage? im curious because my way i just always end up falling asleep and entering a normal dream.

the past weeks ive just been counting to about 100-200 and with every exhale i say "now im out of my body". once i start to feel any sort of vibrations and try to wheel myself to floating, i can literally feel myself almost getting out during floating but it will just stop.. and then i try to get back to this stage and i fall asleep Sad

It's not that you need the "best" way... you're falling asleep because you're not keeping your mind busy enough.  It's getting bored.  Smiley

you wanna be in an "actively passive" state.  it's a lot easier to do than to explain.  the best way i've heard it described is by Robert Peterson.  he compares the desired mindstate to your perception when you see lightnin and wait for to hear the thunder.  in that brief moment you stop thinking, stop doing anything and focus all of your attention in the direction of the lightning.  your mind is focused entirely in one direction on one thing.  some might say that the point of orgasm is the same, which gives sex magick a proper context.  that moment of single minded focus is what you want to learn to hold.  the longer you can hold it the better.  after i've been at that point for maybe 5-10 minutes vibrations/buzzing usually kick in (though this is usually after 30 minutes or so of relaxing, inducing trance, meditating to clear my mind of intrusive thoughts, etc.).

it also may not be because you're not keeping your mind busy, but because you're doing it at a bad time of day for you.  for quite a few people practicing at bedtime is difficult because you're already habituated to going to sleep when you get in bed at that time of day.  it's hard to fight that conditioned response to the stimuli of your bedroom and bedtime routine.  plus you're tired at night!  and the brain chemistry isn't the most conducive to projection at night.  your serotonin (what keeps your mind active) is low and your muscle tension is high.  i remember robert bruce said something to the effect of projecting bodies being more at rest and low in muscle tension than a normal sleeping body.  now that's not to say it's impossible.  tons of people project at night all the time.  tons of people project with little or no relaxation.  relaxation will obviously make the process easier, but people do it.  so try to practice at other times than you normally do and maybe you won't fall asleep.

If you're not having success with your current technique, try something different like the Wake Back To Bed technique (WBTB). Set your alarm for 3 to 4 hours after you usually fall to sleep, get up and be minimally active for 15 to 30 minutes and then try for an exit. You may be surprised at the results. Or try an afternoon nap. You are getting close, now start varying the inception point. That may make the difference.

Counting to 200 could only be about 4 or 5 minutes at the most, and it will probably put you to sleep. Any vibrations at this point is probably just light stuff that indicates you're starting trance. The real vibrations are unmistakable. I suggest learning to deepen the trance while staying passively aware and learning to stay in that state for a period of time. Trying to exit before will probably stop the whole process.

I see, but there has been times where ive layed there for 45mins-hour but majority of the times i could def. wait a little bit longer. So if you say my way will probably end up putting me to sleep, which it has before lol how do you deepen your trance?

how do you deepen your trance?

I sometimes start with breathing exercises and/or chanting to get me relaxed and the trance started, then when in a light trance switch to visualization. I have several that work for me. You know it's working when it starts to get hard to hold onto. The longer you can do it without drifting off or thinking about other things, the better. Even if nothing immediately happens, it'll improve your concentration and visualization skills over time.

So pretty much dont let your mind get bored and wonder, and fall asleep. Any visualization or affirmative would work as long as you do it long enough correct? Everytime I practice I'm going to now atleast give it an hour or so.

I would say that time isn't as important as the effort put forth. If your not putting the needed concentration into visualization, it won't go anywhere no matter how long you do it. And it's really hard to visualize for an hour straight. I'd start off with maybe 30 - 40 minutes in mind, and then adjust to suit your progress.

Oh i see, I guess I was misled because the book I have about OBE the guy makes it sound just way to easy. This is an exact quote

"I lay down in bed and start saying my affirmitives until I slowly drift asleep..minutes later im awoken by intense vibrations and I slowly picture myself just floating out of my body"

This is how most of his OBE start, making it sound like you can just go to sleep with visualizing and saying, then he manages to somehow wakeup minutes after

As a beginner... chances are VERY GOOD that you won't have it that easy.  Smiley

I mean, I might be wrong and you're a natural... but, it's just that the odds aren't with you on this one.  LoL
