Dream Fragments/Astral Memories?

I guess the reason for this post is to try and put together some understanding of my broken or fragmented memories I've had either in a dream state or of possible astral travels. I read over the posts in these forums and it gets me thinking about my memories and I'm trying to figure out if I am already having OBE or just a good dreamer...

Some of my memories which turned out to be reoccurring nightmares always seem to feel like tests after I'm able to get past them. One which clearly sticks out when I was very young is I'm swimming under water about 30 feet down trying to get up for air. when I get around 5 feet to the top I pop right back down where I started. I have to try and swim back up again and again. The problem was I was holding my breath in real life. What broke this nightmare was my inability to hold my breath any longer and breathing in while still underwater. The nightmare turned heavenly when I realised I could swim and breath.

From that point on I gained control of what I thought were my dreams. Another memory was I appeared in a some woods which felt like an autumn day. Leaves on the ground, orange and brown colored leaves still on the trees. I said to myself "I'm going to start running" and so I did though the woods. Then I said I'm going to start flying and up around mid tree level I was flying, when I wanted to go higher I went up above the tree line flying a few feet above the tree tops. It was magical!

Other times I've been chased by hooded figures, when I stopped fearing them I confronted them and made them melt away. In my mind they where satanists trying to capture me for some ritual or something... I don't know. After that I no longer feared hooded figures as they no longer had any power over me.

People have posted about astral sex which I think I have experienced. Some of my experiences have felt like I was with my soul mate. When I awoke I was so sad that I lost them again. I wanted to go back so badly it almost depressed me for days.

Some occasions I've been woken up by what I felt was a bad dream and the presence in my dream was still in the room with me; I could feel it. It would take hours for that feeling to go away, the kind of feeling like someone or something is in the room watching, angry with you. Very creepy... I feel like it pops in now and then to see if I'm vulnerable. That's a whole different story about a Ouija board for another post though.

Well to end this long winded post my thoughts begin to question if these experiences are dreams or OBE's. Some feel so real, others feel completely orchestrated by a higher sub consous. Like I tell myself the situation I will be in then my lower sub consous has to play out what is happening and come up with the correct answer or I'm bound to repeat the exercise. My fear of failure plays out until the situation turns into a nightmare because I'm repeating it over and over. When I do figure it out I never have that dream again.

I think I have been having OBE's for a very long time... Its just so hard to remember. but I need to remember...

What do you all think? dreams? OBEs? my imagination? Getting outside opinions helps me fit the puzzle pieces; so good or bad please let me know what you think and thanks for reading.

I also have felt something similar to what you were saying about your possible soul mate. Every now and then I have a dream with someone in it that I have a very strong connection with. each time this person looks different but I know its the same person.....and whenever I wake up I am so sad and angry at the same time trying to fall back asleep to be with her again. And the feeling sticks with me usually for the whole day if not for longer.
It almost makes me wonder if that person really does exist in the physical world out there and if we will ever meet.

As for these hooded figures, after contacting a certain group in the physical plane through the internet, that night, I was drawn into the astral reflection of my house, and a cloaked figure with a mask and a strange weapon, a battle axe, was standing there.  Well I rushed at him as if to do battle, but he used something like a 'force push' and I flew off to the side, then he must have destroyed that night's astral.  I flew off and latched onto the chimney that was in the house at the time like Spider-Man, and then there were images similar to what you describe as the 'running in the autumn woods'.

I don't think that these cloaked figures mean harm to the physical body, they only test and temper the astral. 

I've also had tests, but in my case, I wasn't allowed to repeat them.  I remember one test, no wait, I don't remember if it was a test that I developed in my spare imagination time or if it was a real test.  I will say that it was a real test and that I went through it again in my imagination.  There were these giant grey boulders, and they were connected by beams of electricity.  I was told, "Escape the boulders while breaking them to millions of smaller peices."  and in my inability to visualize anything other than imposing and invicible grey rock bound by magickal electricity, I failed the test.

There is a man that I have met in the physical existence at a point in my life that I'll call "The End Of The World".  I met him all through that trip, and reality was heavily distorted, even physical reality.  It didn't make any sense.  This man, isn't a man, he is super strong and some kind of leader.  Perhaps you are right about those hooded figures, mine had a special mask, like a warrior's mask from medieval times, perhaps they are different groups.

I've had other 'tests' as well, strange things that don't make any sense.  Also, I've experienced the test where you are underwater and trying to get to the surface.  At the time, just with the vaguest of memory, I thought it was due to the fact that I failed swimming lessons as a child and still can't really swim to this day. I am afraid of water.  I drink it, but to go swimming in it, I just can't bare it.  It's so cold and dark, it frightens me.  I failed that astral test as well.

There is a current indication that they have a massive technology, massive in the sense that it is an incredible device.  This device can somehow code your psionic signature, but you will always have partial control.  That device, I don't know, I think it's capable of taking your signature and coding it to a holographic pulse circuit, which makes for interesting astral experiences, or experience in general.  Now that I think about it, that device could be responsible for many paranormal occurences on this planet.  It is a small computer capable of producing holograms, I think they call it 'rubicon'.  Not real sure.  If it weren't for that device, this planet would long ago have evolved being that had horns, tails, even gorgons.  In a past life, when I was 'that man', I used the device to calculate every single psychological experience and variable there was, except for my own reaction.  And my control of the planet at that time, resulted in a terrible situation.  More on that story to any who ask.

I think that your experiences have something involving that rubicon device, and that they are honing you for a specific purpose, perhaps a 'soldier priest', a paladin of the future.  Don't take my word for it, trust your own intuition and if you search hard enough, you will get an answer, right or wrong.  Usually right.  I think you have rock solid psychic abilities and possibly some precognition.  Male oracles are more common than most people realize, in media, oracles are depicted as being female only, that is not true.  So look into your future, and get the insight you need to 'try' and make the difference to your state of existence.  It is hard, and sometimes, that ancient device will ruin everything, due to the fact that it is recording and pre-empting the entire thought basis of every living thing.
