Well I know all of this stuff is true because I have had two fully conscious projections, however this has been over a five year period now and I try
every saturday and sunday as these are not work days for me and I have time, but really I have had it!  twice in five years if not enough incentive
anymore and I cannot help feeling that although people say this is quite natural and we do it every night when we sleep it is not natural to be consciously aware and there are only a few people who can have this luxury on a regular basis.  I do wonder if I and many other people are not spiritually ready and not evolved enough and therefore not vibrating at a high enough level which I think would make it easier but anyway I am all tried out and will just go back to ordinary things and forget this stuff.  I am pleased for the people out there who can do it regularly and go for it but I have just lost
interest now. Cheers, everyone!

Being new and not really knowing you, I have not really anything to offer, except that I truly and sincerely hope that moment you have "given up" and "stopped trying" is the moment it all starts coming to you. All the knowledge and ability is within you, and I wish you amazing experiences and an extraordinary life.

I used to have natural conscious projections as a child, LOVED them, but the ability went away when I started to "grow up and be serious". 15 years or so later and after a lot of de-programming, the ability has partially come back to me without trying.

I wish you joy and success.

I had involuntary OBE's all throughout my lifetime, but chose to ignore them. Earlier this year when I started to have them intensely again, I decided that this is something I am being shown over and over again for a reason and I have never looked back since. I Phase twice a day now and can do it with ease. I truly believe that if you do let it go for awhile, that if it starts to happen involuntarily that you are meant to do this and should start to practice again. Time will only tell.

I would say you probably need a new approach. If you're dependent on the weekends for it, it's probably going to be a lot harder. It's more of a lifestyle than a weekend hobby and you have to live it everyday. You may not project everyday, but your life will be effected by it everyday. It's more than just floating out of your body, it's also about changing the way you think and perceive the world.

Maybe rather that just 2 OBE attempts a week, do some shorter (15-20 min) daily meditations during the week and attempt an exit on the weekend. Putting concentration into daily meditation may greatly increase your chances of success when you do make a serious attempt. It'll help in other areas of life as well.

There's a saying about the subconscious: "it bends only to love". You cannot impose your will on it by pretending or force, doing so you just contrast the process.

I suggest you a line of working for some time: during the day try to think how much you can about having an OBE, how you need it etc. Phantasize about it, use love as a child does with his/her phantasy. Then go to bed and wake in the middle of the night (set an alarm by 3 or 4 AM), then clear your mind a little and place your intent, and simple go to sleep again. Do it without pretense, without expecting or imposing nothing, without consciously caring about it one way or another. Thrust that you are providing the means and the Gods will provide the end.

When you will be able to do this really, without lust of result and without consciously worry then the rest will be subsidiary. Until the equation of "love" and "thrust" is not there you can try how much you want, you will never obtain nothing. Your subconscious direct the play and if your subconscious is contrasted and/or slandered by your conscious nothing will ever happen.

P.S.: The point of doing the above is NOT having an OBE, if you do it that way then you are missing the point. It doesn't matter at all if you have an OBE or not using it, what it matters is the fundamental teaching of doing the thing with love and for the sake of doing it, without expecting nothing in return. If your love is not pure you will have only very seldom results, no matter what technique you use, now or in the future. When you will capable of doing the above for real, then EVERY technique will work, if approached in the same way. (Having said this, if you do correctly what I said I can bet how much you want you will start to have results without neither understanding why).

What he said.

I will also add that trying too hard (especially as youre limiting yourself to 2 days) will not work.  Relax.  Have the intent.  Most of my projections come when I think about having one, but not trying.  Can I ask what method do you currently use?

Hi,
In one of the replies, one of you asked my method. I have tried many as I have read of many in books by Sylvan Muldoon, Scott Rogo, Monroe,
Llewellyn, William Buhlman etc.  I usually start off with relaxation i.e. imagining that from the toes up I am filling with wet sand that is really heavy,
so much so that I cannot move. I know when I have succeeded in this part as I cannot remember where my hands are placed and no longer know whether they are on top of my body or by my sides so it is like a state of paralysis. On my first successful projection at this stage I imagined myself on
as swing as suggested in William Buhlman's book. It was strange as suddenly there was what I can only describe as a complete blank spot, a "no man's land".  I do not know where this was or how long it lasted and initially I thought I had no awareness at all but my conscious mind reasoned later that I must have had some awareness to know that it happened. The next thing I was in a full and quite violent vibrational state and it went from there.
The next successful attempt four years later started the same with the relaxation. As soon as I was relaxed I started seeing bright colours and the
next thing I popped out like a cork, so very different from the last time.  In all the failed attempts I always reach the stage where I see the colours
and sometimes my hands and arms get out but no further.
Whilst I am replying I would also like to ask Selea about what almost seems like a contradiction in your reply i.e. about loving the experience as a child
loves a fantasy but at the same time not wanting or expecting a projection.  I am finding it hard to separate these things in my mind and do not quite understand. Thanks again everyone.

The "trick" is just that. Wanting a thing with all your will, yet not caring about obtaining it or not. It is a contradiction for the reason? Yes, probably, but I can assure you that's perfectly possible to do practically and it's actually one of the most powerful keys for everything, not only AP.

It is pure love, i.e. loving with all your heart and soul without pretending or expecting love (or anything else) in return for it. I can understand that's difficult at beginning, but by and by it becomes easier. Has it ever happened to you of knowing that a thing was futile to do because you had no hope or similar and yet you did it the same, just for the sake's of it?

Consider also this quote attentively:
The eternal mistake of mankind is to set up an attainable ideal. Sir Palamedes expressed himself fully in following the Questing Beast. His success (as described in the poem) would in reality have left him with nothing to live for. My own life has been indescribably ecstatic, because even when I thought that there was a reward and a rest at the end, my imagination pictured them as so remote that I was in no danger of getting what I wanted. I am now wise enough to understand that every beat of my pulse marks a moment of exquisite rapture in the consciousness that the curve of my career is infinite, that with every breath I climb closer and closer to the limit, yet can never reach it. I am always aspiring, always attaining; nothing can stop me, not even success. I had some perception of this in these years of my life in London, for I wrote in The Book of Lies: "Only those are happy who have desired the unattainable.

Hi Selea,
Thanks for your excellent answers and the first part of your answer provokes another question in me which is, does the trick of wanting something with all your will but not caring about obtaining it work that way for the law of attraction?

Secondly in response to your statement about pure love, I should tell you that I have been told in several ways that my purpose in this life is to learn to give unconditional love and because of the type of upbringing I had I have been very confused about this for a long time but am starting to sort things out but still very unsure that I am capable of this.

Thanks again for your input, it is uncannily appropriate, cheers, T.

I think you chose the most difficult approach and stuck with it, which is admirable, but now after the very predictable failure you've experienced you are discouraged.

This is kind of like deciding to get into hobby aircraft flying, and starting out by opening the manual for a commercial 747. There are much easier ways to achieve your goals that you may have been simply unaware of.

Lying down and going for a fully conscious entrance is really difficult, and impossible for most people without many many years of dedicated practice. It is much easier to have these experiences by making use of sleep-cycle timing and specific techniques: done correctly it takes little effort and you should see results very soon. I had been doing the same thing as you for over two years before I switched tactics and then had success after only two weeks.

Read the free ebook at obe4u.com: the first section about phasing in under three weeks is like 25 pages long and it's all you need really. Just follow the directions carefully, without making any exceptions for yourself because "I am different." Sleep for 6 hours, get up for 30 minutes, go back to sleep, and then when you wake up do 60 seconds of the technique cycles.

Hi Selea,
Thanks for your excellent answers and the first part of your answer provokes another question in me which is, does the trick of wanting something with all your will but not caring about obtaining it work that way for the law of attraction?

As I said, it works for everything, so yes, also for the so-called LoA.

And as for the LoA, the best LoA is doing your Will. Naturally it requires you to know that Will, so it is not so easy at beginning, but it's not partial as a "LoA" can be. When you *really* know what you need the means to obtain it presents automatically.

Secondly in response to your statement about pure love, I should tell you that I have been told in several ways that my purpose in this life is to learn to give unconditional love

Who told you that? "Pure love" is a formula, not a purpose. It is a mean, not a course of action; it is a way to travel, not the road itself.

am starting to sort things out but still very unsure that I am capable of this.

It is difficult, yes, and probably impossible to do it fully until some experiences of so-called "inititation". However you can begin by little things. For example you can begin by trying your methods to have an OBE without expecting nothing, just doing them for the joy of doing them. Then you can extend the same to little similar acts during the day and so on. If you continue by and by you will form an habit, until your unconscious will assimilate the same and you will then do it involuntarily, by your own nature.

Btw, one of the motives why "indirect techniques" (to use Raduga words) works faster, apart the technical aspects, is, in fact, that the "lust of result" is much less naturally. After you wake-up this "conscious filter" takes a while to stabilize fully and gain "potency" and you can use those moments to that effect (and it's also for this I told you to set an alarm to wake in the middle of the night before, not for the "technicality" of it, that, also if "scientifics" thinks otherwise, is the *minor* part of it).

Have you considered using the natural sleep cycles for your attemps?  For me, these are WAY easier than trying from a fully awakened state.  Once you can master this, then move onto consciously projecting.

Or get up very early in the morning (two hours before regular wakeup time, your REMs are buzzing then) and try to project then- get up, walk around, go back to bed (in a different position than sleeping position), get back to trance, and when something happens, try an exit technique.  An active technique, not just hoping to start floating all of a sudden.

Exactly.  The sleep cycle provides an amazing opportunity for projection - use it.  REM is ideal.
