I really really want to project, but pretty much every technique involves things that are too subjective, if that makes any sense.  I did try hanging myself upside down, but I think my brain is too used to regaining equilibrium when I do things like that or something like that.  I really dont want to resort to drugs, especially because I take adderall and prozac every morning.  I really need someone to help me figure something out that will actually work for me.

This practice needs patience, even for years or a decade, to find your "method". Then replicate it if you can. Did you try Frank's phasing? Trying it in the early mornings may work well. I'm good in the approach of becoming aware via sleep (which people call Lucid Dreaming) and it takes effort to elevate my awareness. So there are many approaches.

The "focal point of awareness" that Frank mentions is one of the main things that I struggle with.  I think that a MUSE 6might be able to help if I knew the right settings to input.  Finding a way to ensure that I can use an exit method properly might be trickier.

Be aware that Frank's words and labels were very confusing lol and later he admited that for example "up in the head" was not up in the head and some others. Look at that as your attention. You pay attention what runs in your mind without your eyes, like diving into your "head" but of course, we can't imagine it otherwise while we are "awake". You may get it. I'm practicing it since years, mostly at the worst time of the day but doesn't matter lol. I gave up rushing since a while.

The biggest problems with my ability to project appear to be:

-the fact that I have ADD and that things like lying in bed absolutely still literally feel impossible
-the fact that it's hard to focus on two things at once and entering the focal state feels like it would override my ability to visualize my exit method
-the fact that my brain has the ability to analyze whether or not I'm doing things correctly

Others don't have a cathegoric something and they have the same problem : )  So now you know your tasks to deal with. The difficulty level is already there.

First step is to stop associating / identifying yourself with ADD...
When you identify yourself with something, you're allowing it to latch onto yourself and CAUSES the problem.

People who associate / identify with ADD haven't learned to focus.  Nobody TAUGHT you.
It's something you learn and it's usually up to parents and teachers to provide these lessons to you... the problem today is that most parents and teachers are MORONS.
Very few Parents actually "PARENT" and very few teachers actually "TEACH".

The end result is a generation of children who have ZERO idea how to actually focus their attention.  
The sad realization is that most parents and teachers have actually taught the *EXACT OPPOSITE* of focus and it's absolutely screwed an entire generation of children.

For the first little while... don't worry about doing things correctly.  *JUST DO THEM*

Your first step is to learn to focus.  Whether it's for 5 seconds or 5 minutes, you absolutely *MUST* *MUST* *MUST* learn to meditate.
First you learn to focus your mind, then you learn to extend and hold that focus for however long you want/need.

So first...
Sit down in a quiet place.  Find at least 10 minutes for this.
Next... and this is probably the MOST IMPORTANT PART:  Don't worry about doing things right or wrong.
After that, find a focus which you feel will work for you and work with *HOW* you learn.

Pick what focus your want to work with and sit down in your quiet space and just focus on it.
