Hi Jeff,

I know what you're talking about. That happens a lot, sometimes i'll be meditating, and i'll realise im looking at something as if im looking at it out of my physical eyes. The things I see can vary. What you said is very true, and well put.

"Imagination flows OUT....and anything that you see which seems to come IN to your mind without you thinking about it is probably that 'other end of the channel' from which the astral resides"

That makes sense.

One time when I was meditating, I was lying down on my bed, and theres a tv in my room, and I suddenly became aware that the tv was on, I could hear it, and I could see it on (my eyes were closed) I thought to myself, "why on earth would I go to meditate with the tv on?" So I got off my bed and opened my eyes and went and pressed the button on the tv, and the tv turned on, and thats when I realised what had happened;)

The tv hadn't been on, but I had seen it on while meditating for some reason, I got up to turn it off, and I guess I still must have been in a bit of an altered state when I opened my eyes and walked over to the tv, because I didnt fully realise until I turned it on what had happened. heh.

Maybe at this particular time, I developed real time sight, and you know how sometimes when u project to the real time, things aren't how they should be, maybe that was the same with the sight I had.

i can see where your going with this, sometimes you'll daydream and feel lost in that. Also I find when I relax myself then try and imagine walking around my flat i really get into that and it can take me to the edge of a deeper state of relaxation.

I think these "out of the clear blue" images are aspects of your intuitive potential. That's why I'm interested in dreams, lucid dreams, and visuals or visions that come in. I've been trying to interpret the visions and lucid dreams as I do regular dreaming. With practice intuitive skills can become stronger. There's still a lot of hit & miss that goes with it. It seems to me the ultimate goal is to connect astral & the material together as much as possible.

An exciting experience I can relate is I was visualizing, a bare skeleton began forming in a lying position(started at the head). I let the vision progress as far as it would go.When the skeleton construction got to the hip area the direction of the skeleton began forming in an upright position. The skeleton then was forming in the opposite direction, from the hip upward until it reached the head. The formation stopped a little but what appeared as a bird's head began to form. Just then a bird from outside flew and crashed into my window where I was lying down.  This bird was ok from the crash. The bird sat on my window sill for several minutes. The bird looked my direction during this time until it flew into some nearby bushes. It didn't leave from the bushes. The whole thing was very odd.

I believe this incident represents a little bit of synchrony that can occur when the mental (intuition?) connects with the physical. I'm not sure if my explanation is right or clear.I may mean it the other way around. I guess another way to explain what I mean is for instance, your orange on the table is not a random vision. It may be a symbol and/or message your receiving (or producing?) that can be used or applied someway in your physical world. It's a matter of learning how to receive or work with these things to grow and change the physical for the better. I guess you can call it manifesting your reality perhaps.

Interesting stuff:)

I know what your meaning when you say the mental and the physical connect..

A lot of thought could go into this, hmm, or perhaps no thought would provide more an answer.. Smiley

I have often thought about this to.  Our minds somehow naturally tune into the astral like a receiver ,so the incoming visions are probably astral in origin. (I'm not sure about this either but it sounds true to me:)   Wouldn't you say that any vision seen while meditating that didn't come from you is probably from the astral?  What a wonderful observation you  made, it does make a lot of sense.

Best wishes,

Tracy

What about our subconcious? We have things floating around there that we can't imagine. What about our guide self? Sometimes I feel like the decisions I make while obe are directed by my higher self.

all thats needed then is a way to separate what you know are your thoughts from those that just pop up randomly, then some of those may be directly from the astral?

Lysear,

If you can do that, then you're definitely on the right track!

Basically, the more detached you become as your body goes to sleep, the closer you come to reaching that thin line between the astral realm and your imagination.  Once you recognize these thoughts as being not of your own, but of something that you're percieving from the astral realm, you know that you're close to the threshold.

From there it can get tricky, because you have to maintain a detached awareness while not losing consciousness....because you're close to projecting!  Once you get the hang of getting to this state, you'll realize how easy it seems and how close you've been in the past (but thought you were so far away!).

The question that strikes me is how do you tell whats actually coming from astral and whats really being generated by your subconsciouse mind? I mean it would be rather simple to rule out whats coming from your conscious mind...but who knows what lies in the sub?

Getting back to that thin line-the question that comes up is if I use a certain type of astral entry portal once, does the second time I see it-is it real or am I imagining it?  Maybe that is a good use of imagination and when we can imagine what is in the astral, we   can step right in.

You know, Frank said something in a previous post which just hit home with me in a very real way.  Basically, there is a fine, THIN line between your imagination and the astral realm.

Check this out.  Many times when we are trying to relax and go through our projection techniques, we are told to imagine doing something (like walking down a long path, climbing up a pyramid, etc.).  When we imagine something, you can feel that it's an OUTWARD thought.  It's something that we ourselves are generating and projecting into our minds eye.  We are consciously aware that we're creating this scene.

For example, when I close my eyes and imagine myself walking under a tree, I can tell that, no matter how vivid I see the scene, I am in fact creating it.

However, at some point when I'm relaxing and trying to OBE, the images no longer become something I have created.  I can now observe (in a detached way) that the quick, fleeting things I'm seeing aren't being generated by my mind.

For example, I suddenly see a room with a table and an orange on top of it.  This isn't something that I imagined, because I would never THINK to imagine this scene.  So what happened?  Well, what happened was that I was using my imagination at first to help quiet my thoughts and relax my body.  But at some point, that fine, THIN line was intertwined/crossed, and I started getting images that originated elsewhere.  They came IN to me, not OUT from me.

Imagination flows OUT....and anything that you see which seems to come IN to your mind without you thinking about it is probably that 'other end of the channel' from which the astral resides.

That is just my two cents, and what I am coming to realize within myself.
