I have it too.  I've used it before to help myself project.  Just focus on it the same way you'd listen to bi neural beats.  Anything you focus on (including ear ringing) can help you quiet your mind and thus be in a state where projection is possible.

That's good.  I've found that an unexplainable inspiration is often your guide's way of communicating with you and your key to success.

Maybe to some extent.  I don't remember having any when I was younger but if you really focus on it then maybe everyone will find they have a touch of it at least.  If you have actual tinnitus which is caused by hearing damage, it can be pretty loud.  Mine is like chirping crickets.  Very annoying but since it's so prominent I can use it as a meditative focus.

If you're talking about ear ringing only during projecting, I don't think everyone experiences that.  If you use SP to project, most people do tend to hear the loud roaring sound, but I wouldn't exactly describe that as ringing.  Maybe others would.

No. Most people don't hear it at all. And some people just have tinnitus.

Oh I'm suprised, I've always had this linear mild white noise on my ears. I'm not aware of it through the day but if I think about it and just look for it I can tell it's there either in the 'background' if there's considerable sound around me or pretty definite if the environment is silent.

It also intensifies to some extent if I focus on it but it's never ever overpowering or even bothering.

Guess you never stop learning, I tought this was part of the human condition. Maybe there's opportunity there for me too.  smiley

My sister does AP too, and she was doing like mad a year ago, for about two months. During her AP binge, she got ringing episodes like mad! Since she cut back on the trips, she hasn't had ringing so quite often.

I had a period of this because of a certain trip, and like her, my events quieted down. For us, it sounded nearly like the Angel voices from Supernatural. So when we do get them, we tell each other, "I'm hearing Angel Radio," and we know what we're talking about.

Looked for this thread because I've been hearing lots of loud ringing during projection attempts lately. Usually my method is to do all my pre-projection techniques and then let myself fall asleep, hoping that I will wake up with some of the astral noise or vibrations, which is usually what happens. Lately I've been waking up to a loud ringing, even during naps. The other day I was napping and woke up to the ringing and thought I had my phone in my hand, and started pressing the home button. As I focused on the ringing it got incredibly loud and I knew I was about to project. I got too excited about it and ruined it. But when I woke up I was shocked to find that my phone was not in my hand at all and I was not sleeping on my side as I thought.

I guess my only reason for posting this is in hopes that somebody else has had these experiences with loud ringing and can tell me more about how it works and how to better use it for a projection.

Hi,
I like to use the ringing as a focus method to project prior to sleep.  I'd say, it's very similar to what the prior posters said...
as soon as I lye down, I prefer flat on my back as that induces sleep catalepsy most/higher success rate for an OBE.  Then I focus inward, listen in for the hum, or buzz, it may be soft at first, focus in, listen in, focus in, listen in, alternating, and keeping mindful of the sound.  When I'm distracted by my thoughts or outside, I focus back in onto the sound.  Then relax my body more and more, eventually, all sensation of my body disappears, when the outside sounds fade into nothingness and all there is, is the internal sound, I know I'm close to projection point.  I may try to wiggle my energy body back and forth, if I don't have a strong feeling or move my body, I focus on the sound some more.  Then just pop out.  Sometimes I may play around and try to push it more, the sound can get as loud as a jet engine, and I get this paper flapping in my ear canal sound.  If I'm having trouble slipping out, I may focus on my guide or an astral friend, and project to them, like hone in on a signal.

But basically, for me the trick is to maintain a balance of increasing focus and relaxation.  In out of balance...too much concentration, mind awake, body awake or too wired to slip out.  Too much relaxation, not enough focus/concentration, fall asleep. :p
Hope this helps.

I'm tired of this hostile environment, and aggressive, dogmatic moderation.  I'm taking my 40+years of OBE experience to a forum, where those who can and do project at will can further explore without the imposed limitations spurred from ignorance. Peace.

Thank you so much for posting this! I've been using this ringing sound to project for the past 2-3 weeks now. What happens for me is I fall asleep after listening to binaural beats for a while, and then I wake up some time later with the loud ringing in my ears. From here I'll focus on the ringing sound and imagine myself in motion (swinging upside down or something) and it instantly turns into jet engine level loud like you said until I phase somewhere.

So do you do this when you fall asleep every night? What times do you project with this method? Also, I find myself falling asleep most of the time I try to project. Interestingly enough, I've been having the most success with this method after I roll onto my stomach and sleep face down! Do you have any particular method that keeps you from falling asleep when you do this?
