Sounds like you had a cool experience.  Up until last week, one of my coolest (and somewhat scariest) experience was when I was hovering a couple miles above the surface of the moon.

I was laying down in a deep meditation and found myself out of body.  I realized "someone" had gripped both of my ankles in their "hands" and was turning my body from an east-west direction to a north-south direction.  It freaked me out so badly, I instantly returned to the physical, and have regretted ever since my startled reaction and not having asked who it was.

i had a similar experience of jeff_mash where i found myself floating, i think near the moon, looking down on the earth.  i projected out of my body and out the window of my room with the intent of looking for the akashic (sp?) records.  i'm flying over the city at fast speed so i decide to go up as far as i could.  so i'm flying up and up and all of a sudden everything stops and i find myself floating,very still,  in the middle of space with the earth shining below me.  the earth was amazing looking...it had a beautiful colorful aura surronding it.  i looked around me and i noticed that there were like 3 other people with me.  then i got so excited that i woke myself up....
