 grin Hi

Just finished the Monroe trilogy and I'm now looking for more of the same kind of astral literature that's easy going and talks more about the adventures of the author as oppose to 'how to OBE' and 'this is how the universe works'.
Trying to avoid heavy reading like My big TOE for eg despite how could those books are.

Currently browsing this Book Reviews forum to death but if anyone has anything they've read that I could look into that'd be cool  cool

Thanks,
Ellis

William Buhlman's books. Very interesting read and extremely helpful techniques. Thanks to him I had my successful OBE 10 tears ago and still applying the same techniques with great results.

Thanks, checking out some of his stuff out now.
In the mean time I bought some Carlos Castenada books, I think he used hallucinogenics a lot but still, should be
some decent stories / incite in there especially in regards to inter-dimensional travel and the like.

Yeah Carlos Castaneda opened the way for a lot things in my world. He looks at the entire universe being a position of awareness, like a dream. His teachings are excellent too, although I don't hold the universe as being a predator. More like a collector and generator. A propagator.

I never liked Castaneda's work and too many people believe that Don Juan was real.

Have you read any from Robert Peterson? I believe the are all free.

He also gives great reviews on AP books and tells you if they're "how to" mostly or are loaded with personal experiences.

Well Carlos did present don Juan as being a real person. Even in an interview I witnessed with him he gave the account of don Juan as being a real person.

Did Carlos ever say definitively one way or the other?
I'm just curious.

I loved the first Don Juan book...
For me, personally, I don't care if Don Juan was a real guy or not... I gained so many great insights reading it.
So much positive influence.

I don't think he ever admitted it but his colleagues and fellow students at the time can prove that he was never out of country during the time this all supposedly happened.

It doesn't matter anyhow but I always felt Castaneda was abrasive in his style. Kind of like, "take it or leave it but leave it at your own peril".

I can actually relate to that... it's kind of how I present my "knowns".
In a way, you have to be like that... or you're going to allow everyone who "attacks" you to break you down, bit by bit.

Unfortunately some people live for just that. To disclaim what others think, just because they can't come up with any thing better themselves, lol!  rolleyes

Hey,

Thanks for the suggestions. I've read one Peterson book but can't find any free ones online, as mentioned.
Interested in reading more of his work though.

Similar opinion here in relation to Castaneda's books, reading the first book and picking out insightful pages I can relate
to and then applying them to astral projection and meditation as oppose to the hallucinogenic stuff.
Real or not, I'm not too bothered. The wisdom found in the series and the sense of adventure derived from the possibility
that it Just Might have all happened is enough for me to keep reading, at least for now Smiley

Any more suggestions are welcome, still searching!
