Depends on what you are looking for.

Robert Bruce and Robert Monroe have good books relating to projection, excelling in differnt ways.

Thomas Campbell and Charles Tart have some interesting books relating to the nature of reality and metaphysics in general, with OBE as a central theme.

Off the top of my head... the books I've read that I've liked the most and got the most out of where:

"Astral Projection and the Nature of Reality" by John Magnus
"Astral Projection for Beginners" by Edain McCoy
"Flying without a Broomstick" by D.J. Conway <-- you've gotta ignore some of the religious connotations in the last two listed here.  Smiley

ummm... that's all I can remember for now.

I'm currently reading "Secrets of the Soul" by William Buhlman, and loving it so far... but I'm only one chapter in.

Look up the Book Reviews Forum.

Former PauliEffect (got lost on server crash), http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pauli_effect , the only case where Murphy's Law doesn't apply. And, oh btw, just remember that OBEs (and NDEs) are NOT the same as LDs.

Look up the Book Reviews Forum.
Off-Topic:
You don't need to be always directing people to another threads just because the information is already there, I believe there's no rule saying people can't discuss/say the same thing on different topics am I right?
If you don't feel like giving the information in the new thread then why not let other people do it? I'm just saying this because you did the same recently in one of my posts now I see it again, if this is frequent I think it should be pointed out, no disrespect.

On-Topic: My favorite book's so far are (if I'm not forgetting about on or another):

Osho- Book of the man
Robert Monroe- Journeys Out of the Body

I should probably mention that I didn't read Far Journeys and Ultimate Journey by Robert Monroe yet. People tend to say they are better than the first, and I have no doubt about that. I'll even start reading Far Journey today.  smiley

I'll just note this quickly...
It's okay to link to other resources on the site if you feel that a poster will benefit from them.
However, with that said, you're right in the fact that NickisDank is looking for personal opinions on what people think are the best books and what you'll find on the Book Reviews forum are personal opinions from just a single person on a single book or series of books.

So while I think pointing NickisDank to the Books Review page probably doesn't help much... it also doesn't hurt.  Smiley

I'd also like to encourage people to use the Forum Search feature.  It's really handy for stuff like this.  Wink

I've never even heard of this one... could you provide a quick synopsis of why you think it's helpful?

My understanding is that the first book is fully of his theories and ideas as they were back when he first started projecting.  The best one, in my opinion is his last book, because it has his most up-to-date information.  A great read.  Smiley

I wanted to add that it depends on what Nicky's looking for.  Techs to get out, ideas about what is going on, ideas on what to do when you're out?  Because there is a virtual treasure box of work out there, but it depends on where you're at and what your interest may be.

It's unnecessary, probably 95% of the people that participate on forums know how to do their search's (at least inside the forum in question). That being said constantly telling people to go see some other thread somewhat takes the focus from the discussion taking place, which in my opinion it doesn't hurt but it's just not nice.  undecided

Well I've read it a couple of years ago.. not that much but since I'm 17, you can see where two or three years would take me to.. so I don't wanna be inaccurate about it.
As far as I can remember this book talks about individuality, freedom and spontaneity a man should pursue (in his vision).
Probably it's not on my all time favorites anymore but has I don't have that many books read to choose from this seems like a fair choice as it was LIFE changing at that time.
I'll leave you with the beginning of the official synopsis and the the recommendation to go search for any of his videos to better understand the nature of what he teaches. If you go check any of them out I would be happy to hear your opinion about it. Smiley

My vision of the new man is of a rebel, of a man who is in search of his original self, of his original face. A man who is ready to drop all masks, all pretensions, all hypocrisies, and show to the world what he, in reality, is. - Osho

Yah he seems a little unsure about some theories or experiences that he lets out. I'll definitely read the Ultimate Journey when I'm done with Far Journey!

The Best Book For me  "The Help" by Kathryn Stockard. It was very well written and a very moving book about a town in Mississippi in the 1960's. I would recommend it.

Both books by William Buhlman helped me:  Adventures Beyond the Body and The Secret of the Soul.  I did a workshop with him awhile back and found him very straightforward and intolerant of  BS.  He also spent extra time beyond the workshop to help those of us who had questions and help with technique.  It's rare to get to know an author and where he or she is coming from, but being around him for 4 days gave his writing more credibility for me.
