For me this was one of those books that comes at the right time and leads you to a new challenge of perception / reality. For me it was the next level up in my quest!
I read this beautiful book some 3 months back now. 400 pages.
The Disappearance of the Universe gave me a good understanding of another book I tried to get into some years back called "A Course I Miracles", which I thought back then was not for me. Well, I have become a student of ACIM and unknowing to me same 400 pages into the Text there is this dialog about "melting in" ...to One, and it clicked to me that this was talking about "projecting /OBE"...but there is a real difference in that it is based on "relationship" with what the course calls the "Holy Spirit" and the purpose being to "save time"(different to the fundamentalist interpretation). Anyhow, that same hour after reading this passage I was dosing but still mindful of the dialog, I realized I was without awareness of my body and in spirit form and so I just did what the text said and melted into the most amazing realm of joy and love for a few moments and then returned to the mindfullness of the body.
So, after years of searching for greater meaning and purpose in my life, my path changed direction for the better after reading DU (The Disappearance of the Universe).
I would be delighted to talk more these topics as I am a new student to ACIM, but am excited about the real & truthful experience it is giving me. Perhaps you are a student and can share your experiences too.
