I vaguely remember having dreams when I was younger about breathing underwater. I can't remember how I ended up underwater, I think sometimes just in the swimming pool or in the sea, and sometimes because of a flood or something like that. At first I would panic in this dream but then find out I could breathe. In later dreams, there was no more panic and I was used to the situation.

I'm not sure why but lately I've been thinking about this again. I can't really recall having similar dreams again, but it came to mind again. Maybe I am having dreams like this again, but I'm not recalling them, but I am remembering that I am again having those dreams. Maybe I just started thinking about them again.

I've thought about the meaning of it, but I wonder what other people think about it as well. What do you think it means?

Who knows.  I've had many dream awareness experiences "underwater"... some expected, some unexpected.  I was always astounded that I could "breath" underwater.  Smiley

I've also had a bunch of lucid and astral awareness experiences (mostly lucid though) "underwater"... I believe the same occurred, I was usually astounded that it was happening.  LoL

I've had those. It's like I become "one with the water" or something. Pretty neat.

A lot of dreams can leave you wondering "wth?" Who knows why we dream what we dream though. Either way, a lot of my LD's are interesting lol

Not just underwater breathing but riding and swimming in tsunami sized waves.. and now that I think about it, it is also a time when I become the most lucid, that is when I realise I can breath under water. It is a fairly common theme for me and it usually at a beach I used to go to every year as a child with my family. Being a familiar and comfortable place, I think is why I never get shocked awake from the fear of the wave size or being under water before I take the first breath. I don't recall this experience ever happening at any place other than a beach, even when it's not the exact same beach I am familiar with.. It's never happen in the deep ocean or a lake or whatever.
