LUCID OR...? New Member! Please Help Me?

Over the past few weeks I've been seeing my friend in my dream. The other day, while awake, I realized "hey, I've been seeing him a lot in my dreams lately... thats odd". That night I feel asleep and there he was ... again. Weird part is: I ran up to him, gave him a BIG hug and TOLD HIM that I've been dreaming of him often. We were discussing my dream IN my dream! A similar situation occurred where I was taking photos in my dream and was frustrated because I knew all of the beautiful photos I was taking were never going to be uploaded onto my computer ( but I failed to fully realize that the REASON I couldn't was because it was all just a dream!).

I know this isn't lucid dreaming... but is it close? I feel like I could really break through with this if someone could help me. Any info or similar situations? What is this called? Thanks SO much for reading this I hope you guys can help!

It's what is called a lucid awareness, you were aware that you were dreaming but you weren't fully concious enough to control it. But you are close

Well, in my opinion, the minimum requirements to call your experience a lucid one is that you knew *at the time of experiencing it* that you were in a dream (in the non-physical).

If while discussing your dream with your friend while IN your dream... did you know you were dreaming at the time?

I don't think my dream was lucid... but I really believe its the closest thing to it. In my dream I was able to tell him about all of my past dreams from that week. Detailed, true information. But I failed to recognize that I was just dreaming... yet again. Which makes this dream not a lucid one.

I've had other dreams earlier this week where I'm taking beautiful photographs but I'm really upset because I know there is no possible way  I will be able to upload them on facebook the next day.

... I'm upset I can't upload them .... but I can't figure out why. Obviously the reason why is because its all just a dream.

I feel like I'm one step away from being able to register that I am in fact IN a dream. But it's like my brain refuses to make the connection. And when I do start to question things (for example, trying to figure out why I can't upload my photos) it seems like I wake up almost immediately after.

Maybe this is all far fetched... but I'm really open minded and am willing to try anything to foster this!

It might not have been a lucid awareness experience, but damn... you're definitely getting there!!
