I always have these recurring dream situation, where i am at my front door, trying to stop the "enemies" from coming in.

This morning I dreamed that young kangaroos, were trying to attack or kill us, so i had to beat some of them up with poles and stuff. Than i held the front door to stop them from coming in, locking the door. They were so strong, that even the door lock slipped out, and i had to use all my strength to stop them from coming in, shouting at my bros to get some weapons ready.
The other dream i had about a similar situation, was the other week or so. These bullies i absolutely hated, chased me all the way to my front door; which again i had to hold closed with all my strength, yelling at my sister to help me. The door lock was slipping out as well..

To date, i can remember maybe 3  dreams with this same situation (i know there has to be at least a few more, that i don't recall yet). Some were maybe 5 years ago, all the way till present. I'm not curious about the constant having to run away from enemies, since i think that's got to do with an inner fear, which i have gotten away from for a good while, but recently has started coming back. I'm more curious about the door situation..

What do you think it means? I don't understand it at all.. why a door? why do i always have to hold that same old front door with all my strength? why does the lock slip out? I've never had a problem with that front door in real life, so i don't understand..

Earthbound_Starman -

Disclaimer - I don't usually interpret dreams so please just allow my opinion for your consideration.

"What do you think it means?" - It means exactly what you think it means.

"I don't understand it at all.. why a door?" - You are trying to block something out.

"Why do i always have to hold that same old front door with all my strength?" - You are afraid of letting something in. Afraid of being hurt. Afraid of giving in. Afraid you might not have enough strength.

"Why does the lock slip out?" - It cannot remain locked because you are aware that what is outside CAN come in. There was never a lock in the first place, only appeared to be a lock.

"I've never had a problem with that front door in real life, so i don't understand.." - Don't try to understand. I would wonder why your not worried about the back door or the windows as well.

Next time don't resist. Just open the door and welcome them in. Nothing can hurt you there. Don't run from these things. Face them. Don't fight. Dreams can be a learning experience in this regard. I don't typically find my dreams really mean much anymore. It seems all I do is have fun and cause trouble. Emotional stress or internal conflicts can certainly forge some intense and even frightening dream sequences though.

Food for thought - What are you afraid of? Is there a truth you are having trouble with?

I feel that dreams can be interpreted symbolically, figuratively, literally or a combination of these. The bottom line is that the meaning is specific to the dreamer, and the interpretation is dependent on what these symbols mean to the individual having the dream.

Perhaps this post will help you:

I would ask Starman a question- do you live in a place where Kangaroos are common?  (that is, are you Australian or from NZ?)  Other than that, everyone else covered the front door thing, I think.
