I've had depression for a long time really, about 9 years, and thankfully I think it's coming to an end. It is hard work though, particularly because I have to turn around negative thoughts and progress is slow. The reason I'm telling you this is because I imagine that feeling particular bad for a long time effects your energy body, and I was wondering if there are any particular exercises that can be done to restore it? I often feel like I can't even feel my body, and if I try to feel the life in the body, in my legs, arms, hand, feet etc it's really tough. I've been trying to work through the astral dynamics energy body section (trying to fill my primary energy storage center) and I'm just wondering if I'm heading in the right direction? Or if there is any other information I should know.

Any contribution is very much appreciated.

I think NEW is an excellent way to get energy body awareness, but you should work on tertiaries and secondaries before working on primary centers.  Especially if the object for you is to learn to feel it.

Also, if you're just overcoming depression, you should try taking in extra energy to help you through this difficult time.  Breathe in positive life force from nature that isn't being used, that you reeally need right now..

Ok thanks for the comment about secondaries and tertiaries, I'll look for information in Astral Dynamics.

Also, if you're just overcoming depression, you should try taking in extra energy to help you through this difficult time.  Breathe in positive life force from nature that isn't being used, that you reeally need right now.. 

Sorry, but I don't understand what you mean by breathing in energy from nature, could you be more specific?

You know that high feeling you get when you're walking outside, and you throw your head back, and you feel the wind blow against your cheeks, and through your hair, and you think to yourself, "life is good."  When you feel that way, you should breathe in deeply, and envision a invigorating flow of energy, light purlple, with sparkle glitter =P, (or any color that makes you happy), and when you breathe out, breathe out the dark muddy energy, and see it go into the ground and get recycled.

That's what I meant.

I am so glad I happened across this...

I too have suffered for a long time from severe anxiety and depression. I'm not "out of the woods" rather it is a daily battle. It is really hard work as original poster said. And I too am making progress by recognizing negative thoughts and substituting positive ones, you know basic cognitive behavioral therapy. Finally broke free from the antidepressants that made me so sick. Now I'm struggling through "discontinuation syndrome" but I vow I will never go back on them. I'd rather make my serotonin naturally through diet and exercise.

I think the taking in of energy is also what I need. I feel like I am totally blocked, that I can't even feel subtle energy much less work with it.

I love the idea of taking in more energy from Nature. I know that feeling lily moonsong speaks of...when the sun is on my face just right, when I'm surrounded by green grass and gentle breezes or the way I feel at the ocean which I haven't seen for many years. That moment of pure bliss where everything feels right with the world and everything works out like it's supposed to. The grass grows, the sun shines, the bees collect honey, the birds sing, the world turns and there is no place for anxiety and depression if only for a minute or two.

The breathing in of good energy from nature and the breathing out of bad energy into the ground for recycling is something I cannot wait to try! I also love the incorporation of color and sparkly glitter, I am such a girlie girl at heart and it delights my inner child Smiley

I just want to clarify that I didn't say that NEW cures depression, it just is a good way to learn to feel energy.  Just to make sure.  wink

There are other ways to get rid of depression. NLP is one example of a technique that works.

Think now of a time when you feel depressed because you aren't depressed when you sleep. So the feeling of depression is often linked to internal pictures(or movies slides etc), negative self talk voices, and a feeling that starts in a certain spot and moves and then loops back in order for you to keep feeling depressed.

Put yourself into a very focused state of mind(trance) and imagine seeing those depressive slides, or movies or pictures becoming further away from you getting smaller and darker. Do this quickly. You may or may not find that this changes your voices and it may decrease the feelings you have for this picture. IF you change the tone, location, and speed at which your negative voices speak the effect will diminish. Finally for the feeling aspect. Take a moment and find where that negative feeling starts, then imagine pulling it out of yourself and spinning it in the opposite direction, change the colour of it and put it back in spinning faster then before. IF followed correctly you will begin to feel these changes.

Not everyone will agree with me, but psychedelics such as mushrooms, LSA, peyote (never tried it), and DMT are very effective in helping depression and anxiety. 

The aftermath of a good trip is like a fresh breath of air.  Its like getting a bunch of water and washing your mind clean of all the BS parasitic waste that causes these problems.
